  1. Was average, but still the only rider to beat cook Worse than average -- and why would Cook bust a gut when his team had already qualified for the final? Gino Manzares looked a better rider than Milik!
  2. That may be the case but on current form, it looks like a BV vs Wolves final. The other 2 teams will be cannon fodder.
  3. I was just about to post the same comment. He looked pretty average (no actually worse than average) for someone who had ridden KL many times before.
  4. I agree but speedway is a stupid numbers game. Obviously Branford should have got the chop rather than Perks but that would have put Rye House above the average limit even though their team average is 4-5 points less than Wolves - it's stupid!!
  5. It's a results based sport - if someone under performs they can expect to be released. Of course, if you don't want to win anything then you should have kept him
  6. Don't see what the fuss is about. Barker and Sedgmen should easily outscore those being replaced home and away! Kennett was never a heat leader in this league although I bet Poole wish his average was less than Klindt's as they would sign him in a heartbeat - shame!
  7. So both teams that came up to the Premiership this season have jettisoned their number 1s who served them so well in the lower league but clearly not number 1s in this league.
  8. Swindon are a team full of potential and they are showing that they are heading in the right direction. Unfortunately, as I have said before, they are one change away from having a team that can make the play-offs. The only rider not showing potential is Dany and that is that change that brining in Tungate would have made the difference. If Rosco sticks with this team - which is still basically the team that most wrote off at the start of the season - they will not make the play-offs.
  9. Good result for Swindon - I did expect Wolves to leave with at least a point and fortunately that's all they got.
  10. It does seem dodgy as many (including myself) have said. But he may actually be genuinely ill. I think it balances up the teams again and Swindon may now even have a chance of winning! For a team built around a top 2 and both to be out would have made it even more unbalanced but good luck to the best team on their win tonight!
  11. No dodgy illness - I have it on good authority (OK I've made it up) that Dany was round Rosco's last night for tea and he came down with a severe stomach bug afterwards - although everyone else in the Rossiter household is absolutely fine
  12. Yes I can (class him as one of the greats). I would also class Leigh Adams as one of the greats too and he sadly didn't become world champion either but both great nonetheless.
  13. I strongly disagree - DW#43 was the most naturally gifted speedway rider I have had the pleasure to watch - he is indeed up there with the greats in this sport.
  14. I agree that the rules should be followed as it would set a bad precedent if it were overruled - no exceptions! Ironically though he was injured while riding for his Championship side and the only option open to Swindon is R/R - so Swindon suffer as a result whilst Berwick can have a guest for him - doesn't seem fair!
  15. Not great at all - he has only raised his average by almost 1 point (from the reserve berth)!! What were you hoping for - a heat leader to replace him?
  16. Looks like I was wrong in my prediction - BV looking stronger at this early stage.
  17. I think Poole will win this and BV will leave without a league point.
  18. I think you were the only one questioning its credibility
  19. Is he agreeing with me? Can't say I knew that or even care because he is part of the problem being a member of the BSPA that allowed this situation to arise - year on year!
  20. I have no problem with Wolves because they picked an improving side that isn't far off the 50 point mark they started with when the ridiculous multiplier was used - fair play to them that they picked a team of improvers. However, as I said previously, it has always been the case that struggling teams have very little options to improve within a stupid points limit and that's just how it is and doesn't look like getting changed. Also bear in mind that there appears to be a smaller pot from which to select replacements because fewer riders want to ride in the UK so it means options to strengthen are limited and then when you consider that a lot ride in two leagues in the UK, it reduces their availability too. It seems the BSPA are happy to build teams to an arbitrary limit and then to let improving teams pull away from the pack with the rest unable to compete on a level playing field because they can only strengthen to a much lower limit than the improving teams - which just cements the gap! In the meantime, the non-improving teams lose more and more supporters most of which manage to break the habit of attending to see whatever dross is put out and stop going altogether. This isn't sour grapes because it looks like there are limited or no options for Swindon to strengthen (although I believe that Rohan for Dany would have been the change to allow Swindon to challenge for the playoffs) because I accept that it has always been this way but it can't be right that the following pack have more limited options to strengthen than the leaders - where is the fairness in that? If teams were allowed to strengthen to the highest averaged team level then that would be fair because it is still a fair competition but to have teams building to 42 points when one team has a near 49 point average is just plain stupid - but that's British speedway for you and helps keep the costs down. Any other sport would increase the limit but speedway chooses to dumb it down so much so that crowd levels continue to fall.
