  1. Sadly this has always been the case and teams need to make the right signings at the start of the year. The logical thing to do would be to allow all teams to strengthen up to the highest average team which would be fairer but it always seems to be the case that teams at the bottom end of the averages are severely restricted when making changes. This has been talked to death on here in the past and the current lesson is to make a better job in putting together your initial team to start the season.
  2. Yes -Sedgmen's average is too high if making a straight swap with Dany It would be harsh on BWD - the only one worth considering replacing is Dany (IMHO). With Ellis at reserve, the team should do better.
  3. They do indeed have the highest total but it's not as high as you put though.
  4. I like Sedgmen and he can be a match winner as he showed last night - if only he could find some consistency to move him forward. I thought Tungate was a cert for Swindon so I hope Rosco has a plan because we couldn't even fit Sedgmen in to the team because his average is the best part of a point higher than Tungate. Mind you what rider wouldn't jump at the chance to ride at the NSS each week (Scott Nicholls excepted).
  5. With the new averages, the difference in team strengths are showing: Belle Vue 43.96 Kings Lynn 43.24 Leicester 39.3 Poole 43.31 (or 44.75 with KK) Rye House 41.22 Somerset 42.72 (or 43.71 with PH) Swindon 40.98 Wolves 48.48 May as well give the trophy to Wolves now and be done with it
  6. Well he was better than both Nicholls and Harris - both ex-SGP riders - so clearly not as far down as those two "reliable" Brits #justsaying
  7. I'm sure that back in the days when KL first started there weren't any issues with the sun. It's a summer sport and not unusual to have sun in the summer - or is it?
  8. He was entertaining but I thought Richard Lawson, Steve Worrall and Craig Cook were more entertaining. Its great to see someone like Steve do so well and is one of the success stories of the ill-conceived draft system that later wasn't a draft system. I did, however, think that with Swindon looking to strengthen and Tungate the most likely candidate, sadly there would be no way he (Ben Barker) would ride for Swindon this year - unless Rosco wants a bad atmosphere in the pits for the rest of the year!
  9. Just as well its not at the NSS or he wouldn't get many points. Come to think of it, he still won't get many points
  10. That's very bad news for Doyley (and his teams) hope he has a speedy recovery
  11. I'm not surprised Leicester are a poor side - even after the changes they have made. I was surprised when some (quite a lot actually) said that the original Leicester line-up looked good. Anyway still between the Lions and Rebels for the wooden spoon
  12. You were there too - what a night - and not in a good way!
  13. *cough* Kerr *cough* If he had wanted to, he could have kept him on - remember all the press gushing about how he had always wanted to ride for Poole! So a performing rider WAS dumped as you so eloquently put it. #justsaying The very same Starke that was "dumped" by Somerset for under performing. But wait - Middlo works wonders (apparently)
  14. Reminds me of the "Joe Screen incident" at Blunsdon when he and others in the Poole team were clearly trying not to win.
  15. Tungate said he was hoping to announce his new UK team soon - probably tomorrow replacing Dany.
  16. With Jason in the team there was no chance of fitting Tungate in on a 9+ average. Tungate also rode for Somerset last season so it was logical that he stayed with them. Now that he has been dropped, I can't see any reason why he wouldn't go back to Swindon if he wanted to. We will just need to wait and see where he goes. With regards Porsing - that's a shame for him and I wish him a speedy recovery but it is an excellent opportunity for KL to strengthen up.
  17. This is the same Starke who was dropped by Somerset because he wasn't scoring very well in their 1-5. I would have stuck with Newman for now as Poole should make the playoffs. The time for changes should be before the end of July. Poole fans better hope that Klindt is back sharpish though.
  18. It was still a good bit of business by Swindon exchanging Magic (I don't want to ride in the UK) for Doyle. When you review the journey Doyle has taken to get to where he is now - you have to admire his dedication. Best #1 Swindon have had since Leigh Adams
  19. Regarding the double header at the end of August, I have been trying to understand why since it was announced and I'm still none the wiser! There are so many blank Thursday nights between now and the end of the season (or even our off night of Sunday), why is there a need for a double header? This sport has absolutely no consideration for the fans!
  20. Ellis and Bellego are a very poor pairing !!
  21. Sadly I don't remember Poole paying any money for Judas outside of loan fees so I think he is still a Swindon asset - but you can keep because he won't ride in the UK again. Also Piotr Pawlicki is a Wolves asset and you don't own the Peterborough assets! Your last sentence made me laugh though given that Sundstrom has already ridden in the UK and not for Poole and Vaculik will probably never ride here!
  22. I can and I did! I'm not really sure the relevance of his age but his form certainly hasn't improved year on year and he is a poorer rider than the rider he once was - so I say again - his best years are behind him!
