Have you read the IRR Rule? It states if a rider is injured then any rider under his average can take an additional ride. It is not the best 3 riders all take a ride each. It is much fairer if a no1 gets injured than having reserves take rides.

Scunthorpe Friday 22nd March from 5pm. Meet the riders later in the clubhouse from 7pm. -
Is it still a requisite that no houses are to be started on until the stadium is finished? Is Osborne still waiting to implement his dirty tricks, as usual/

I mentioned using a grading system including rolling averages about 3 seasons ago & was shot down by numerous posters saying we should not be going backwards but looking forwards. Some rules actually worked years ago. To stop manipulation, I also posted about having your lowest 4 or 5 scores removed from a rolling average when we were using the last 30 meetings.

Just what the promoters want to hear. Updates should be used for away meetings & meetings that you can not get too. Hope Berwick do not go under after 2019 with fans like you! -

Rob Godfrey interview in Speedway Star
IronScorpion replied to iwright71's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Started from scratch in 2005 & fixtures/buildings added when financially possible. Not a greyhound stadium leased for speedway & not council owned with millions thrown at it. Sheffield & Belle Vue, both your tracks, although slightly different, are "throttle on blast round" as you conveniently say. -

Kemp will increase his average to around 4.5 after a couple of meetings because of what he did in the CL last year at Ipswich. He will still beat most reserves(last years NL riders) & a few 2nd strings so I would move him to the 3 or 4 spot rather than no2 where he would ride with his no1 3 times. Maybe good for learning potential but not team/individual scoring. He should average around 5 - 5.50 in 2019.

Workington 2019
IronScorpion replied to TotallyHonestJohn's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I agree that guests are part of our sport & we are, also, trying to lesson the number of "doubling" riders by trying to bring British riders through, steadily, with the new system rather then the ill fought EDR system. When you put your team together, although late last year, having to pay riders that little bit more than you would have budgeted for then to see that you would have a memorable season which would cost you a lot of money & force through a decision to "go on ice" hopefully, for a year before coming back in 2020. I wish I could see what the future holds because I would then buy a lottery ticket with the winning numbers for tonight......................... I REST MY CASE! -
Workington 2019
IronScorpion replied to TotallyHonestJohn's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It is not the present BSPA's fault & people should get real as the decline has been happening for this last 8 to 10 years. The decisions made, though, this last 2 years with the J Holder debate & the changing of Friday fixtures to teams, supposedly, main race nights which should have been the norm from decisions made at the AGM but when the fixtures came out, no-one could foresee the problems that would later arise & not just at CL level but PL as well. Even in the NL teams struggled to get 7 riders either through school, travel, work or couldn't be arsed. -
Being based in Sheffield with Ryan will probably help him get accustomed with what it all entails plus they might mechanic & travel with each other when meetings allow.
-
I, also, thought there were a couple of Aussie youngsters to try before Jedd especially as he only started 500cc racing last year so a year too soon was my thinking but Ryan & Jake must see something in him to put his name to Scunthorpe. It was only a couple of years ago we tried another youngster in Tom Armstrong, who again at the time, thought it was a year too soon, but we never got to find out as a bad injury curtailed his season.

2019 Championship Improvers
IronScorpion replied to Supersub's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Is there a reason why Jaimon Lidsey is not in our league? Surely, he is one Aussie that should have been snapped up probably making a 7 average look easy. -
It gives the signed Comet riders the chance to say "we are ready to race as soon as you want us".
-
You are at home on the last Sunday in July & at home in 2 of the 1st 3 weeks in August with the other away. The last Sunday is free as all your fixtures are covered unless you progress in the cup competitions where this last Sunday could be used. Most teams & fans would be happy seeing racing 3 out of 4 weeks especially in a shortened fixture list, again, in 2019. Again, as in most threads, spare a thought for those fans that have lost speedway this last year.
-
So no friendlies(racing track time)again or will any be arranged later before the season starts?
-
It was the same in 2018 & a couple of teams rode on the Friday. No Championship teams rode on the Monday so, this year, why are Poole v Swindon TBC possibly allowed Good Friday.
