  1. Minimum was reduced to 2 for 2018 from 3 in 2017
  2. Bailey at 2.51 based on 20 meetings & British reduction & not 2017 average(29 meetings) of 2.71 less British reduction. https://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/other-sport/scunthorpe-scorpions-add-two-more-2236723
  3. It was mentioned a while ago that in 2019 it would be a mix of CL & NL riders & having a limit of 38, the chances of having a 2019 side with 6 or 7 CL riders will be very few if any. NL heat leaders could be a blessing for some teams having 2 at reserve. Kemp on a 2.00 at reserve for Sheffield could be a trump card as will he move into the main body after 4H 4A or a rolling average of 20 meetings including 2018.
  4. Having Stevie back would have meant having the 7th rider on 2.48 or less so having Jason instead means he is between 2.48 & 3.05. Riders in that area are Thomas 2.99 & from 2017 Davey, Hall & Carr. All at 3.00 in 2017. Having Bowtell or Wood would have allowed us to choose Stevie as both riders are under 2.48.
  5. I think the averages applied will be recent to the league they have ridden in. If a rider has ridden in both leagues & signs for a Championship club then that average will apply.(same as 2018)
  6. Hi Tony

I posted a bit ago when Ryan's name was mentioned & now having a 3rd in Victorian State, qualifies for visa.

6.12 was his final average but it is now based on last 20 meetings & as he finished the season well, I have him about 6.5

Bailey finished with 2.71 less his 2.5% is 2.64 but based on more meetings. States he is on at 2.51

  7. Auty 8.36 less 2.5% British reduction .................................................. 8.15 Allen ........................................................................................................7.37 List .....British patriality ......................................................................... 4.00 Bailey 2.71 in 2017 but 29 meetings (now 20) British reduction ....... 2.51
  8. Keep them cups clean & polished for the next recipients. Gonna be a long winter but waiting for further news at 9 tonight. Wind ups! Who? Just let me know & i'll teach them a lesson!
  9. Why? Did you want him? Too late Now your team will have to be split up, can we have Jensen? Hope you witches have recovered from your nights on the "vino".
  10. Probably the same as a certain Drew Kemp. As a lot of top riders have been saying, get your bikes as light as possible. If not, then yourself. Working out on his abs in one video so just needs upper body strength training. First ride on a 500cc speedway bike around April 2017
  11. AGM Statement said all riders ridden in the NDL(or NL, CL) will get a 2.5% reduction. It mentions a minimum of 3 for Premiership but nothing in Championship unless old rules apply. It might be for team building purposes only & then when new averages come out in 2019, the minimum of 2 will apply. GREY AREAS AGAIN!
  12. You can not race against yourself. It is 6 other teams, twice!
  13. The Premiership(1st division) is 7 clubs riding home & away twice which is 12 meetings. Added to this will be the cup meetings. The Championship(2nd division) hopefully will be 12 clubs riding once home & away which will be 11 meetings. Added to this 3 Shield cup meetings & a KO Cup meeting.
  14. Possibly for Scorpion riders as all meetings after the 23rd Sept were KO meetings which, I think, are still not included in averages. Due to Peterborough & Ipswich moving up & no assessed riders or minimum of 3 pointers in the Premiership could we look like 1. Auty 8.15 2. Worrall 7.97 3. Garrity 7.40 4. Nielsen 5.52 5. Bacon 4.67 6. Kemp 1.95 7. Rowe 1.95 or 1. Auty 8.15 2. Worrall 7.97 3. Allen 7.37 4. Jensen 6.59 5. Manzares 4.00 6. Kemp 1.95 7. Rowe 1.95
  15. The problems have been there for a lot of years now & just tweaking thinks here & there has not solved them. So let us not just blame the BSPA, the promoters, the race night package, the riders, the bikes but look at ourselves & the fans that have left the sport. Even the diehards are dwindling away.
  16. It is not just the top riders in our league like Cook, Nicholls, Harris, Morris et al but other heat leaders & 2nd strings. Ex riders that move on get paid more per point & sponsorship then when offered the chance to guest for their old team are told these are the rates that we can afford, turn down the opportunity.
  17. Ryan Douglas secured 3rd place in last Saturdays Victorian State Championship which qualifies him for a visa in 2019. As previously stated, he finished 2017 on a 6.12 average but that was based on 34 matches. I have now gone through the last 20 meetings for Ryan in 2017 as that is now the limit of meetings for an average. I did say he improved his game when he changed back on to his GM & from 88 rides scoring 143 points I have him on a 6.50 average. Whether this is right or not, I'm unsure.
  18. Scunthorpe did similar & not make a change but even with the loss of Worrall in our first meeting, the rest of the lads pulled together then suffered after the injury to Nielsen. They, as a team, improved their average from 42.3 to 46.2. If we had changed any of our riders in that time, they would have been snapped up & we would never have got them back.
  19. Looking at the BSPA site for final averages, Ty Proctor did not have an average in 2016 so that must have been his year out. He then achieved a 7.15 in 2017 meaning he was ok then this last year, unluckily, having a 6.96 average. The case with Mason Campton, I followed, because of similarities to Ryan Douglas, & he has been at Workington for 3 years achieving averages of 4.67 in 2016, 5.73 in 2017 & 6.32 in 2018. Being at one club, similar to Ryan, made me think he was on a similar Tier 2 3 year visa.
  20. Rider of the year - Josh Auty Most impressive team - Workington Team rider of the season - Jake Allen One to watch - Dan Bewley Bulldog award (Best British rider) - Craig Cook Meeting of the season - Scunthorpe v Glasgow Surprise of the season - Berwick Underperformers (Team) - Sheffield Unluckiest rider - Lewis Kerr Newcomer of the season - James Shanes
  21. I have said a similar thing probably this last 3 years but used a % reduction for riders. Fans would then be used to familiarity year on year.
  22. Also, why would it be a fitting final with a Peterborough side having 3 of their own riders & 4 guests!
