Grading's will not work as the teams with the most money payable through better sponsorship or income(revenue) will always pick the cream of the grading's. To stop manipulation of the averages towards the end of the season, & this has been mentioned possibly every year for the last few years, is to remove the lowest 2 or 3 scores for their averages.

I have posted to re-start the 2018 thread but be aware posts have been removed by the moderators. Rob will not announce next years team or have talks with any of the riders centre green as nothing is known yet about 2019 regarding league sizes, team sizes, new rules as they have & still are being discussed about & then to be announced at the AGM in November.

Scunthorpe Scorpions 2018
IronScorpion replied to IronScorpion's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Please post on here anything Scunthorpe 2018 related so as not use the 2019 thread with unwanted news. We are still in 2018. Be aware though that threads are monitored as it seem a lot of posts have disappeared from here. -
Riders will always say what fans want to hear as you would not have expected him to say "Scunthorpe had already booked Howarth so Peterborough was my next option to earn money. It is exactly the same year after year fans ask riders if they are coming back. What do you expect them to say? Sorry, I've had better offers to go elsewhere!

Workington v Glasgow 14/10/18 7:30pm Play off.
IronScorpion replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Depends what the rules say! We tried to sack a rider & we were not re-declaring but giving opportunities to other riders...........Nothing in the rules but the SCB blocked it. M Riss decides he has had enough not scoring enough points & citing previous injury to go home...........Nothing in the rules but 2 teams granted facilities. Season ends end of October & Aussie Titles brought forward more than 2 months from normal January meetings. 2 riders want to return home for a chance of a top 3 position to gain visa's for 2019 even though there are 4 Titles to enter...........Nothing in the rules so will probably be granted a facility. -
Nice post THJ & something that is close to what needs to be done in cutting down the leagues & team numbers(riders) to suit availability. We are running a similar idea in our Monday Pool league where we now have only 13 teams(used to be around 20 for a few seasons) where we are playing each team once then the league will be split depending on position to form 2 leagues.

At least the Wucky fans knew what Tosh was trying to say in the Workington have meetings on Friday & Saturday but just got them wrong way round. Probably thought Workington would get their way & ride on their "main" "alternative" night first. Now awaiting replies or likes from the "sister witches" or "scarra". See you soon, weather permitting, on the 26th, 27th or 28th.

I posted that it would probably be the opening meeting in 2019 as I had not heard or seen anything since it was mentioned in the AGM brief & our website.

The BSPA did. They put out a statement saying the were reverting back to only 3 meetings per race night(fixed tracks) with teams reverting back to main race night. Alternative race nights only to be used if Friday night track did not have a meeting or were riding at a similar Friday night track. Yes, fixtures were agreed back in February but the increase in injured riders meant that there were limited guests available. Even the SCB have had to make amendments to rules as the season progressed. We don't live in a perfect world where every thing & every one is perfect.

Depending on the number of teams involved this years, certain issues need addressing. If we start with a shield it is run to a conclusion as soon as possible. Fixture dates could double up ie having one date for 2 competitions. If on that date, any team is involved in the shield then it takes priority. If not it becomes a league fixture. The league is run to a conclusion, league winners & no play- offs. The end of season is the KO Cup meaning more teams & riders are involved for a longer period. SIMPLES !!!!

Considering you are down to ride at Lakeside(Rye House) in some other Final (OOOOPPPSSSS !!!!!!!) I guess we have move to an alternative race day to accommodate you.

Peterborough v Scorpions 13.10.18 7pm
IronScorpion replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I sincerely hope it was not the last meeting at the Showground. The meeting was not just lost last night as it was a 2 legged semi final & some of your riders did not turn up for the 1st one.
