  1. Decent planning & communication over fixtures was normally in the hands of the fixture compiler but I read that last year it was down to the teams promotions. The original fixtures should NOT have been allowed as it was against what was proposed at the AGM & when problems arose in getting decent guests, some fixtures were cancelled & rulings applied to what was agreed at the AGM.
  2. It should be just British riders but the rule states ANY riders that has competed in the NL (NDL & Conference leagues, previously)
  3. It has also been stated that the increase in crowd levels were due to the amount of free tickets handed out. The were then hoping that these freebies would spend their money on food, drinks or merchandise.
  4. As far as I am aware, Jake Allen is a Somerset asset. After signing for us at the tail end of 2017, he was approached by a club to sign for them in '18 but he said that Scunthorpe gave him a chance in the PL so wanted to stay in 2018. After a great season in '18, he was, again, approached to sign for a club in '19 on which he again said no to stay at Scunthorpe. The dates of when he was approached, I do not know, but he was approached as will most riders. As regarding the asset system, I have seen it here & in the SS where a riders parent club, ie the one owning his registration, has 1st choice. It then goes to his last club he rode for & if they don't need him he then becomes open to offers but a club approaching him has to ask his parent club & last club before directly talking to the rider. But, as have known before, not just last year but previous years, rules are broken or manipulated.
  5. Jake Allen has said no & is loyal to the Scorpions for a second time.
  6. 'cos riders will tell supporters what they want to hear.
  7. Pretty sure they do but why are riders STILL owed thousands from British & foreign clubs. This is NOT ONE MEETING NON PAYMENT so why is it allowed to continue. It was assumed that a few Workington riders were not paid on time but that was due to minimal home meetings at the start & mid season of which they eventually caught up with much success.
  8. We need a list of riders with their real averages & which riders get the 2.5% discount & riders averages based on last 20 meetings & not last average from 1 year+ ago( if this is right)
  9. That is because they face a 28 day ban if they decide not to ride. The promotion should be held accountable & if riders are not being paid then they should have the right, backed by the SCB/BSPA to miss meetings until wages are paid up. the team & promotion suffers with using NL riders.
  10. After 7 meetings for Ipswich, he is already carding a 4.65 average.
  11. An astute bit of team building as, has been said, Kemp has ridden 7 times in the CL so will get a new average after his 1st away meeting I am led to believe. this will give them 2 x 4 pointers in the reserves positions. King has already been diagnosed with a trapped nerve in his arm, which has now been released, so should be back to full fitness for the start of the season. Some riders are not true no 1's & I think this is where Kyle struggled so having him back as a no 5 or 3 will see his snip of an average improve.
  12. I thought it denotes the type of engine tune it has had. Oil is changed every 2-3 heats or should be according to PJR tuning.
  13. Could this club find out what was talked about & how the voting went at the AGM as there must have been minutes taken & documented. Is this asking too much with the AGM being "A Private Club"?
  14. It depends on if the fixture compiler does a good job.
  15. Not far off but I think with the money & sponsors they have got, they are the first club to trial a squad system in 2019.
  16. Back to America at the moment but has signed for a Polish club for 2019. Douglas signs for Leicester.
  17. Snowed already in North Yorkshire so probably started early
  18. I am not going by last seasons performances but from what Steve & Jason have done over the last few years. Steve has been a more consistent rider over the last few years, justified inclusion in GB squad & has only had the one bad injury. Jason is the more entertaining rider but sometimes tries too hard, falling off, minor injuries but is good in the clubhouse, later. Going by the clubhouse, who put forward the idea for the after meeting talks with riders bring in much needed revenue to the Scorpions? Steve! He is good for the sport, good for the Scorpions & unfinished business, as some have posted.
  19. HEY! Trying to do shazza out of a job! ..........might get your fingers burnt(or other bits)
  20. The wrong G. It is Gail that does the takings. Rob, or God to others, does the track & presenting & other tasks that crop up.
  21. Must be paying him decent money to travel 4 hours rather than 3/4 hour & reading the SS about teams paying above the agreed rates at the AGM by Laura.
  22. But Rob said, in the press, that we could not fit him in but the figures do not lie & we could have fitted him in unless other riders were involved who he has not mentioned or as another poster has said, he did not do the maths correctly with the British reductions for riders.' If Steve wants to ride elsewhere then his travel costs will increase. I would have thought, now, he would go back to his safe haven of Newcastle to score the big points at home meetings for his higher earning potential. It has been mentioned about a move to the North West which would surprise me if it was Workington but Glasgow could come into that area, just.
  23. But if he is new & a 2 pointer, we could have fitted Steve in. Rob, has in the past, been good at giving out "red herrings".
