Cradley V Brummies Wed 23.9.15 Gold Cup Semi Final
Alan_Jones replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in National League Speedway
Riders don't have to be injured to be replaced by a guest in the NL. "any other reason, e.g. Work, school, holidays, etc." is the additional rule for that league. -
17th & 18th October.

If anyone pulls out of the NLRC in the next few days I hope BWD gets the offer of a place. It's a shame that the best entry we've had for years is likely to be missing one of its top attractions.

The Rockets only have 4 riders available, Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen, Luke Bowen and Danny Maassen all carrying injuries, and Ed Kennett carrying the team. Kasper Lykke is due to have his knee operation today and Robert Lambert is in plaster for a few weeks until he has his scaphoid break reassessed. Dan Greenwood is sitting out the rest of the season.

Is that the world on the street?

That's why the cheering will often be stifled by a mass intake of breath when people realise the seriousness of an incident. the applause as the rider finally makes his way back to the pits, or even takes an ambulance ride, is usually far more enthusiastic than the initial cheer. As for the oft quoted "nobody wants to see a rider injured", sadly, that isn't true either. As for Poole being louder, having a bigger crowd will do that.

It started off as the 4th round but was rained off in June. The new date meant that it would be the 6th and final round but then when Northside was vandalised and their round postponed it moved into it's current position of 5th. The weather forecast on the day looks reasonable so lets hope the awful weather over the next few days doesn't do too much damage. The later 5pm start may put off some of the northern entrants but it may benefit those that do appear with a more consistent track surface than that provided by the usual 2pm start. No preview on the Young Lions site yet, but expect about 40 riders and heats across the 4 classes plus 4 finals, all run in a little over 3 hours. The racing has got better with every round this year and it was a classic 500 final that ended the Redcar meeting. Let's hope for more of the same on Sunday.
