That's actually the EL version of the Guest rules, which are slightly different to the NL, but the same principle applies with regard to the 8 day rule. In the past, the rule was that a rider wasn't allowed to guest within 8 days either side of appearing for their own team, but it has changed a couple of times since then.

It only applies to guesting, not riding for your own team.

You're right, so the change isn't legal! Correction: Danny Maassen's 3 point average takes effect on Saturday & not August 1st. Phew!! So 40.79 dropping to 40.73.
