Billy Hamill took a GTR engined bike across the El Mirage lakebed at 142.8 mph at the weekend. As a rookie he wasn't allowed a record attempt and had to stay below 150 mph so he'll be having another go at the October meeting.

Probably because there's more chance, for both teams, of ending the season with a bang in the Trophy than there is against Cradlingham in the Gold Cup.
The season ends on 31st October, the play offs are ridden in season.
Sheffield's original reserved play off dates were the 10th & 17th with October 1st for the final. Peterborough's were the 4th, 6th & 13th with October 2nd for the final. Those are what appear on the original draft of the International Speedway League calendar in February.
This match and the following day's return have been changed from the National Trophy Final to the Gold Cup Semi Final.
The NT final now takes place on the 3rd/4th October.
Lambert and Jakobsen were already carrying injuries before last night as are Lykke and Maassen so it was always going to be a struggle after going all that way straight after a home double header. It reminds me of some of the awful teams Glasgow put out in the Blantyre days.
To make sure he was on board for next season. This season was long over and we've been moaning for years about Len not even being reactive, let alone proactive.
I expected 2 defeats tonight but thought that the Somerset match would be the bigger loss. We'll done to the Devils, it's good to see some new blood in the end of season shake up.
There is absolutely no chance of the Rockets moving to Kent.
I did hear a new rumour tonight though about a Kent/Lakeside licence swap with Martin Hagon running an NL team at Lakeside on a Monday.
