Whether there is football on or not, if it's on whilst I'm outside the ground no doubt I will watch it in a nice bar somewhere................if it's on just as we are about to walk into Cardiff Millennium Stadium then speedway will win hands down! No problem watch a game in the afternoon in the pub speedway at night and listen to all the lads in the pub the next day saying what a wonderful/dreadful match we had missed on tv., because we were watching speedway LIVE!!!!!! I know where I'd rather be and approx 40,000 other speedway fans

Not the way that they say it on the tv., or at Eastbourne Gem I remember this woman @ Eastbourne she was a Ipswich fan and I stood near her during the meeting, I said to my friend I wish they would say Marks' name correctly it really is annoying, this woman next to me said please don't tell me you say "Lorum" that is so irritating when his name is "La Ram". I looked at her and said "Yeah right, I grew up with him @ Canterbury trust me love (shazzybird went into patronising mode at this point ) his name is pronounced "LORUM" well it was when we were kids anyway! So CH I'm with you on this one xx

Blimey CH you're as bad as me when people say Mark Lorams' name wrong! Just for the record Kelvin Tatum is amongst the only people to pronounce it right when he thinks about it!

Ian, Raven has the same video as I have, we got it from Sidecar121 whose friend is the "cineman" We have a couple of copies floating around the family at the moment, Uncle Ted has a copy and is refusing to part with it! Mainly because the two races in which he features at the beginning of the tape he wins! My kids are absolutely made up with it, they were never lucky enough to see Unc. ride only nowadays around the field out the back. Ours boys are just as impressed as they were far too young to remember him racing. Excellent piece of history for me as I can remember and love to re-live "Canterbury Days" by watching the video over and over again. Many thanks to Steve and his Bud for sharing the video with me xx

misunderstood the airfence part derrrrrrrr at me! I just thought that it would be safety wise good for airfences at all tracks, unfortunately I do realise a lot of places are too small so therefore cannot have them, as for where the money comes from..............either get a BIG company to sponsor it or maybe even ermmmmmm SKY now where does that money go? if it's ploughed back into the track there are a few where sky is not in place and they look better than some of those on SKY. Example: Eastbourne Ladies Toilets yuk! put some money into making that a better place, those toilets haven't changed since the 80's (ok got a title for the next poll "The Ladies toilets at YOUR home track" lol)

If the Airfence rumour is right then I think it's about time ALL tracks had them whether they be EL,PL,CL all racing is dangerous not just the experienced in the Elite...............what about the "I've got to make an impression" league where they push themselves to the limits

Lisa also rode at Canterbury a few times in the 80's loads of body armour if I remember rightly, she was a regular @ Iwade too when we used to go most weekends
