I know JB always paints the Current World Champ but........... Could he do another rider as well, is there someone that can set up a poll with all the riders from the GP series that have not had a painting done of them and see who comes out the most popular? Ryan Sullivan gets my vote -
Yeah ....... you lot give me some back up. This bloody lot on here think I've buggered off to become and Eastbourne fan................................. Eastbourne..............who are they?????????
-
oh no I was part of the "Eastbourne ..... who are they??" gang... of course whenever Canterbury rode at Eastbourne I went along and in the latter years when I was old enough to drink I then went onto Deanland afterwards Have I convinced you yet Only three teams ever featured in my life back then Hackney (Friday) Canterbury (Saturday) and Rye House (Sunday) what a weekend that used to be! Nowadays it's whatever team Mark Loram rides for and if that happens to be Eastbourne then I apologise now.

Told you he is so horrible. You'll get ya own back don't panic

God Kev I'd forgotten all about that happening, now you mention it I can remember as I was only 11 at the time I wondered how they managed it. You and me both Kev have just had a look at the site that was given on another thread and there is an address there for suggestions for Kingsmead, did say I should but I have now emailed them and suggested a speedway track might be a good idea, there should be plenty of interest in Kent what ya reckon Mark Loram #1!!!! must go out and get my lucky lottery ticket for Saturday night
-
I'd like to email the person on their and gave them a suggestion  :!: In fact I might just email them and say they could put a speedway track there it's an ideal location and I'm sure there would be lots of interest locally  what ya reckon anyone interested in watching speedway in Kent :?:

Excellent place Deanland went there after the meetings whenever I went to Eastbourne. Somewhere at my Dads' house I still have all the stuff from Kellys' fan club which my Nan enrolled me in

You're right there Lioness, some of the tales make me cry, some make me cringe but most of all they make me realise how lucky I was to be a part of speedway in the 70's & 80's. My Dad and Uncle Ted when they get together they often talk about the meetings from years gone by and different things that happend. When I was with a couple of Uncle Teds' friends they then talked about "the good old days" listening to them laughing and joking about different things, was great. Even talking to Mark Martin on msn never ever get fed up of listening to speedway memories of anyones, everyone has a story or two to tell from the past.

He moved before the speedway closed. Was not the only person to complain and at the end of the day it wasn't because of the noise that the speedway was stopped as Dick Searle explained a while ago. The noise never helped but was not the main factor.

Well Done Newx lmao @ LT

Thanks to Mbunyan for the information there on the anniversary of winning the league, I can still remember Barney on top of the tractor holding the trophy, a proud day in a sad year xx

It's not looking or sounding very good for speedway fans then is it, Look at Canterbury site empty since the dog track closed (another white elephant project!!) now the site is going for development, last heard was going to be a medieval theme park not heard anything since.

Jim Blanchard has not long finished a painting of Mr Craven. All Belle Vue fans should have a look at it, it's very good. -
That would be nice Norbold, make the Olympics worth watching then wouldn't it
-
That is so sad to hear, had many happy childhood memories from Waterden Road Are there any plans for the site?
