  1. They can do what they want at the end of the day Jason Crump doesn't want to be British.
  2. Two mentioned above excellent idea andget Trackman alongside what a wonderful team they would make and what wonderful entertaining racing to give them a go, certainly can't do any worse :!:
  3. It wasn't so long ago that Jason Crump won a Round in the Grand Prix and when asked by the interviewer "Can we put this down to a win for Britain" Jason replied with "No, this is for Australia" So the answer to your question highlighted above is :- Jason Crump wants to be no more British. Than any Brit wants to be French! It serves a purpose for him having a dual passport but he wont ever fly under a Union Jack flag, Shame really as he is the closest we have to World Champion at the mo, nationality wise of course
  4. It's ok doing all this wonderful stuff for all the fans that attend this weekend they are going to have a trip of a lifetime to a GP, what about the poor sods you can't afford to go back a second time and benefit from the "Cock-up" of last weeks GP and also last but not least what about the fans at home that pay for SKY not just for the speedway as let's face it we get a meeting most weeks but the GP is something else.........except this week we can't watch it, cos someone messed with the track and it was cancelled  so when are we at home likely to watch it then :?: Come on Mr Posselwhite what about the fans at home! Do we get any sort of benefit from the 2nd round of this Grand Prix :!: :?: Oh yes we can all go to our "Local" tracks mine being 1hr 30mins away and watch a couple of made up teams as the main riders we were going to watch are on GP duty because of a major "COCK UP" Last week but not on the fans part there only fault was having their money wasted on travel not too mention the holiday they had taken from work........ My god ya started me off there didn't ya
  5. Is'nt that Russell man (You know the one that looks almost as orange as Jon Cook ) incharge @ Cardiff, he was the one giving the interview regarding the track preparation. Race Director is that a posh word for the 70's title Clerk of the Course? or are these two different positions so that one can blame the other
  6. Having just sat and watched the GP first three races all over again, my dad has just turned up at my house (to collect his birthday card, always an alterior motive, except he wont be too pleased with this one as he is 60 today! can't even talk him into Collier Street this afternoon at OAP prices ) and his opinion on the track is " should have gone around with a mass load of cars, rolled it in tight, re-graded and re-tire again" Steve totally agree (blimey did I just say that :? ) one off finals are the best, it comes down to all on the day that way and not just building of points up, as much as I'm a Mark Loram fan he wouldn't have won that year as he never got 1st on the rostrum for the whole series, so in one respect I was pleased with a GP style that year
  7. You're soooooooooo right there Frigbo............... once seen never forgotten, I do try but that bloody Honey keeps on reminding me
  8. Next year get ya hand in ya pocket and sample Cardiff............. as they old saying goes "Don't knock it til ya try it" Yes speedway is about entertainment (and I don't mean Edwin Starr, Suzi Quatro or The Blues Bros ) but atmosphere also plays a big part. Whatever happend to the riders having an opinion on riding the tracks anyway :?: their the ones risking life and limb for our entertainment and the promotors pockets :!:
  9. then the bounty becomes higher in price too don't get me wrong I'm as peed off as anyone else about this meeting being off, I'd kicked the ol' man out tonight so I could watch it ) surely the blame for the track should also rest with the referee he says whether the track is fit to race on or not, it was reported on here yesterday that the track wasn't looking too good after heavy rainfall why wait til 3 heats have gone before calling it off :?:
  10. Sorry Honey it's got to be said even if wrong here but........ One off tracks hmmmmmm Cardiff is a one off track to which you have not (to my knowledge) attended. I for one thought the first two years were race wise excellent, 3rd year maybe the track was not as good but still well worth the entrance money. inc. the overnight travel home afterwards. My friends that came to Arlington with me last weekend have already decided they are going to Cardiff next year. That after an Elite league meeting, not a GP. One things for certain there is a roof so no need for a rain-off, that's the beauty of Cardiff guaranteed a meeting, even for those that only attend one meeting a year How many rained off meetings, not neccessarily a GP or NLRC or even a BLRC have you attended but still not been put off the sport, no matter how far the travelling was?
  11. >>>>>>>>>>>>Wheels in the hostess trolley Sorry Porky didn't mean to offend you there with my posting, it's just my personal opinion on filling in a programme I'm sure there are lots of people within the sport who has the same thoughts as both of us It's one of those no win arguments I think
  12. I think you are wrong there porky, My friend thoroughly enjoyed the meeting inc. the programme filling. If you don't want to fill one in then that's entirely down to personal discretion. I very rairly fill a programme in when I go to Iwade.............I wait for Sean to post the results in on here and then copy it down so it's nice and neat, and then placed with the rest of my collection, that incidently have a value to some people within the sport, eg: World Finals, GP's and for me Wimbledon NLRC back in the 70's nice to look back on and reflect days gone by.
  13. I'm beginning to wonder if maybe you have ventured into the wrong sport :? You haven't given one good reason why you enjoy it :!:
  14. I spoke to Mark last Saturday and he said he was doubtful for riding this week (Tuesday) and possibly this GP, it all depends how his physio goes ...... With the injuries he has sustained over this season he should go for 110% fit not 99.9% Make sure you're fit before you ride Mark, it could prove costly otherwise m8
  15. There is a photo of Troy on Mike Patricks web site in his favourite pics
  16. If you come back in March as hopefully planned will your Bro be taking you to the VSRA? I went last year and stayed up all night drinking with a certain Middlo, Barney Kennett & Steve Hone........My Uncle went to bed just after the Grand Prix finished on the tv.,..................No wonder the Jack Daniels is cheap @ Poole that's probably one of the reasons that keeps him there
  17. Just had another look at the site getting loads on there now. Thanks for putting me on your map, modern technology not got to me yet!
  18. Was @ Rhodes Minnis on Sunday, met up with Raven who had bought along some of his old scrap books for Sidecar121. Well........me being nosy just had to have a look, the memories came flooding back of years ago, Pictures of Barney, Uncle Ted, Graham Miles, Graham Banks, Dave & Martyn Piddock, Merv Salt my god so many faces from the past some happy memories in the books. Got a bit choked at seeing some of the clippings but then that's me bladder to close to my eyes Hopefully it wont be too long before some of the footage will be added to the Canterbury website by Sidecar. Rami I'm think Raven said that Kevin Brice is in Middlesborough will have to ask him again, was talking about so much I can't really remember all of what was said!
  19. Why not I'm ex-Canterbury got an Eastbourne jacket but can't wear it when other Canterbury fans are around so just have to freeze
  20. or are you he maybe
  21. Steve sounds a horrific crash, lucky it wasn't more fatal. So when are the air fences becoming compulsary @ tracks then :?: It's only a matter of time before it happens. Jason Crump took a shove through the fence @ Eastbourne last night, and yes I did say a shove! ended up on the stock car track. Hope both riders are fighting fit again soon xx
  22. Certainly was a bad idea when a certain "Little" girl kicked him in the shins on the orders of her grandfather I did apologise to Dick when I saw him @ Sittingbourne, bonus was he never remembered but he did remember me once seen/heard never forgotten I guess
