The most unexpected performance @ Kingsmead was Peppy (Richard Pettman) pulling a wheelie on the home straight and going under the tractor wheel on the first bend!
-
Those were the days, majorettes and the brass band @ Canterbury during the intervals!
-

Fovorite Moment In The WC?
shazzybird replied to a topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
David Norris for his comments and also his spirit Dean Barker Heat 18 never cheered for an Eastbourne Rider (being Canterbury it's not the done thing is it ) fantastic riding Mr Barker Scott, Lee & Gary goes without saying pure class all of you Considering all the flack that Middlo received for his team selection these lads have put the UK back on track Thanks for an enjoyable WTC xx -
Greetings from Denmark
shazzybird replied to Middlo's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Not me Middlo I was behind you lot all the way I nearly cried after Heat 18 that had to be one of the best races of the WTC. I asked you back in March, to go out there and win this for shazzybird ........ you didn't listen did you :!: or maybe it was your round and you had selective hearing ;-) Congratulations on reaching the finals, being in the Top 5 of the World can't be bad -
I back England/Great Britain whatever you want to call them 100% When the Football World Cup is on my house is decorated with George Cross & Union Jacks all over the place my kids think it embarassing seeing a flag on the roof but hey who cares it's all part of being a supporter of your country........ although Speedway in my part of the country is at the moment dead, it didn't stop me putting out my speedway flags (only 4, quite reserved this time, as no Mark, so no Loram flag flying!) So we might not have won but hey it was a good World Team Cup AND we reached the finals.......... too top it all I found myself cheering on Eastbourne Riders to the point of almost crying after Heat 18 Absolutely fantastic riding from Dean Barker sorry Canterbury fans but I have to admit that one Well Done to Middlo, Dean, David, Scott, Lee & Gary excellent riding and excellent spirit you did us ALL proud even if some don't like to admit it

Will Middlo step down??
shazzybird replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Why on earth should Middlo step down, like many others have said here he can't control riders injuries that's speedway. Considering the flack he got from most people for the team he picked, they went to the World Cup with fighting spirit, unfortunately fighting spirit couldn't win it this time roll on the next WTC :!: -
Sweden World Champions 2003!!
shazzybird replied to Robbo's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well Done Sweden that's all I can say, was disappointed TEAM GB did not to get to the rostrum if only just to poke a couple of fingers up @ the critics of Middlo on his team selection.... David, Dean, Gary, Lee & Scott fantastic riding & team spirit throughout the campaign .... I for one was behind you boys all the way (even if it was by just being in front of the tv!!) My neighbours are now convinced that I have totally lost the plot as they heard me screaming at the tv and with an airhorn blasting every now and then they are not impressed tough really if they loved the sport like I do then they would understand wouldn't they :!: Once again Congratulations Sweden Bad Luck Middlo excellent team you put out, if it could have been won on team spirit we would have walked it :!: -
Blimey am I the only one hopefull of a GB win 1. TEAM GB 2. POLAND 3. AUSTRALIA COME ON YOU BRITS.........LIFT THAT WORLD CUP
-
