  1. My twins 10th Birthdays.......... Now do I take the kids as a birthday treat? I like to be in the pub getting hammered at Cardiff can't do that with the kids around, just know I wouldn't enjoy it as much with the kids there. So maybe best to give it a miss this year
  2. Wow what a way to start the New Year ........... Many thanks Ken, good luck with the project
  3. Chances are it will be an afternoon kick off like the last time the World Cup was on and people were in the bars of Cardiff getting tanked up whilst watching the Football then carrying on the festivities into the night with a touch of speedway at the Millennium Stadium thrown in for good measure. It wasn't a very exciting game I think it was Saudi Arabia or someone like that but it was World Cup, It was Football and as Brits we love the sport so if it's on the tv., we watch it. Perhaps they didn't want people being drunker than normal at the stadium, like I say it wasn't England playing last time but this year it is forward planning huh
  4. Now.... the Aussies call us whinging Pommes yes?, maybe if our lads had whinged publicly like Bacon Balls they might of just got a reserve placing
  5. Note to Self Must start saving for a holiday "down under" next winter
  6. World of Sport on a Saturday afternoon used to feature a lot of speedway when I was a kid just before the wrestling, oh those were the days it worked then so why wouldn't it work now
  7. Not sure this is the right place to post this but it's with regard to the Simon Wigg feature in Backtrack this month. I have just sat and read the above mentioned article and had me in tears so much so I've asked for his book for christmas, the article was very well put together and enough to give a little taster for the book....... I want to read more. Well done all at Backtrack for yet another fantastic edition Hans Nielsen my god where did all that hair come from was he like a Girls World turn the handle and it appeared
  8. Easy mistake CH glad you saw the ol' boy again though as I have been searching record books for Bill Savage today for you
  9. Good to hear it Congratulations on the birth of your baby xx
  10. I always thought business was business I know theres another thread running but I'm hi-jacking this one for one second ............ Congratulations and Best Wishes on your new business venture hope you have a successful season Lanzilla
  11. Team GB..... finished where last year? in 2003 we were very unlucky not to win yet still finished Runners-Up. The atmosphere was fantastic and there was also a lot of entertainment put on for the kids before the meeting on the centre green and also in the New Stand (Thanks for that kept my kids quiet until I heard his name over the tannoy as participating in the limbo contest on the Centre Green then that scared me as I'd left him colouring with friends of mine who encouraged him to have a go ) Back to Poole for me please or maybe Eastbourne forgot about there great viewing there and loads of parking! Just need a bigger bar and we're sorted oh and them bloody toilets they said they'd be done for the last one what did they do remove the cobwebs and thats it
  12. I think it makes a mockery off a meeting you might just as well run one race and have that as the meeting, gone are the days when the riders would race to the end for his points as each one counted. Now they have the chance to drop back, in the hope they can go so many points behind that way the meeting can be stolen in the last heat. All well and good as long as you are not the team that has rode your nuts off all night to get the lead. (Does that make sense well it does to me shazzybird sense anyway. )
  13. I do hope not where did you see that Steve? Surely the Swindon fans would be on here raving about that if it had been What a lovely room it is too, I love it!!
  14. Surely this will be the same problem wherever you go, I know someone tried to book a holiday cottage for Cardiff and it was really cheap until they realised something was on at the Stadium 15miles away and the price doubled!!
  15. I wanted Team GB & Middlo to win, as an individual will not cheer him on
  16. No Brit ever does well, we're used to that now but it doesn't stop us losing our voices in the first few heats and each time they are shown on screen running out of air horn gas before the meeting starts. (Before anyone nitpicks here Kev will vouch I didn't cheer for Richardson would rather cheer on (spit spit) Nikki P!)
  17. Oh there you go rubbing it in because we are going to be freezing here and with no speedway When are you off Bryn? Have a lovely time and save some Bundy for the natives
  18. Probably saving Mrs Moon who was trapped under it after a crash. Someone rode round a track with candles strapped to the front as the power went at a stadium years gone by as well, oh and he was fined for it
  19. No thanks I know where I'd rather holiday, still if it's at Coventry a little trip to the Midlands could be in order
  20. Don't know about anyone else but I found Cardiff a bit flat last year, atmosphere was excellent, racing was excellent but there seemed to be something missing for me and quite a few other fans ...................... oh I know what it was MARK LORAM
  21. Yep Richard has his own business in the Canterbury area. We did invite him over to the re-union at Iwade but unfortunately he never attended.
  22. Don't get me wrong Ian I wish everyone at Sittingbourne Speedway all the very best, if I can help in anyway whether it be handing out leaflets at grasstrack again or any other way then I will, it's just that CL lacks something for me, I love to see the riders coming through the ranks but it just doesn't have the same buzz for me that I've been used to now for 17 years.
  23. Everyone knows that Steve would NEVER wish an injury on any rider, you've read that one wrongly Beauty
