I couldn't think of anywhere better than to spend my birthday at Speedway, two years ago Kev H took me to Oxford for my birthday and we met up with Tabby, Tina, Rainbow, Bryn and got to watch Championship of GB had an excellent night. I think when I first went over there at the beginning of the season I was expecting Canterbury re-visited everyone pulling together to get the place on the map. Sorry but it didn't work for me, I was soon back to our old rivals at Eastbourne. Don't get me wrong what they are doing is fantastic, the riders give 100% as does Graham Arnold but CL at Iwade is not for me. Am expecting a lot of flack here over my above comments but that is just my opinion.

Can't help but feel they will shoot themselves in the foot if they do, with the distance of the place from a lot of tracks and the prices they charge at the hotels on top of stadium tickets, think people will either go to the GP in June or the WTC in July. So looks like it's back to Eastbourne and Poole Tabbs get my room ready I'm packing the suitcase

Canterbury is becoming quite a built up area and any land that was vacant has it seems been taken up as a park/ride. There are people out there still looking trust me, it just seems to be that areas that are looked at are ear marked for development, Sittingbourne Dog track would be ideal but that went down the pan as well we all know. Ashford is quite a catchment area there are a lot of speedway/grasstgrack fans in that area probably more so that Canterbury, again sites that would be ideal are earmarked. Over that way at the moment there is talk of a load of houses being built to cope with the demand for houses in that area. So the search continues.......

Think I must be missing something here, if Hans or any other rider for that fact (yes including my hero) was good enough for the GP's then surely they would qualify without have to be given a wildcard entry. If they have the top 8 already why not have a meeting to determine the wildcards sort of a "Best of the Rest" instead of picking out the hat which they seem to have done here, if they don't qualify then that's just tough.

I'm here Norby just got back from the Archives to answer the question what happend to Canterbury, got so lost in reading the thread on there was really starting to enjoy myself and thinking how fun the forum used to be with all the friendly bantering between the Crusaders fans oh and the few riders that appeared on there, Barney, Gibbo, Mark, Honey and our Team Manager Dick Searle anyway I found a reply from Dick Searle regarding the closure of Canterbury.

no different to me I suppose on quiz nights every other week at the local Working Mens Club I text Tabby in Poole for a few answers every now and then we very rarely win even when we cheat and get the right answers back
