  1. I would think that Polish speedway doesn't have the remotest interest in really developing any riders, to world class status, other than their own. On the other hand they may well be totally dedicated to ensuring that international speedway continues to blossom and will work hand in glove with the FIM and all the other domestic speedway authorities to make sure individual and team world champions come from any involved country. As they say time will tell.
  2. We will have to accept that speedway has come to the end of the road when it comes to being regarded as an international sport. It will become a sport that will be regarded as something Polish motorbike riders do. But you can't knock them for looking after their own interest. Doesn't matter how long this thread goes on for it won't change the natural outcome of their diktats
  3. Don't blame them at all. They have a firm grip on the sport, they saw their chance, took it and will never let it go All the rest is gravy
  4. Poland doesn't have much use for EU law only when it does something for them As the Polish President said 'if the EU think they are going to tell us what to do they can think again'. That was something to do with an environmental issue I believe
  5. Poland wants to monopolise speedway and make it their very own sport. They want to guarantee they will win everything all the time. What happens to speedway elsewhere is irrelevant to them It has been said that the New Zealand All Blacks represent what NZ is Poland doesn't have a great deal to shout about on the world stage. Speedway can become Poland's All Blacks. After all it is known as The Black Sport in Poland
  6. Donnie without a shadow When it's the choice twixt two non entities it's Donnie every time They only way for people to wake up and smell the coffee is to get their noses rubbed in it till they open their eyes and see the light And if it's too late, when they do open their eyes, then they will have reaped what they have sown
  7. Speedway has changed and you either embrace that future or you walk away from it It was and is an insular sport and that insular state is choking the sport to death
  8. Kemp should get his chance. The opportunity to take his game to another level. He says he wants to 'be there'. He can 'get there' in this tournament. If youth is the future they have to start somewhere, Go for it Drew!!!!
  9. That's the point 'Let's face he would never get a better chance and yet he was still a poor second'' I think he realised belatedly that he missed a golden opportunity and I do believe he will drift further away from it as time goes by And by the same token I think that Bartoz, and the people around him, understand the situation with the opposition and realise he could win 4 or 5 titles on the trot thereby adding credence to the plaudit of 'greatest rider of all time.' It's easy done as old Brucie used to say 'if you play your cards right'. I think he will make the great attempt to do so.
  10. 6 at Poole 6 in Poland Ford would sign Bartoz and call it a win win situation The clue and the symmetry of it all are in the P's
  11. Totally agree. What I am saying doesn't denigrate the standard of racing in general, that is in the leagues and in the GPs It’s the future, just like it is with football and the Champions League Eventually all the major clubs in Europe will break away from FIFA and set up their own organisation and teams will play their games all over the world just like Formula One Racing. EG Manchester United will play Real Madrid in Tokyo and Man U supporters and RM supporters will watch it on TV at their respective stadiums. That's why Murdoch wanted to buy Man U so to control the TV rights. He pulled out when FIFA put the kybosh on it and compromised with the Champions League. But it will come as sure has night follows day Poland will be the place for speedway and TV interest will gravitate in that direction
  12. The Poles will be pushing to have it in Poland every year, for the reasons stated here and the TV companies will agree That's the future of Speedway total Polish domination at all levels
  13. It was regarded as the 'spiritual home' and Fundin himself said it should have been there every year
  14. If we can watch local football, which we do, we can go to speedway meetings The only reason we don't go to speedway is we have a caring government who are afraid we'll get dust in our eyes
  15. Any way now that's out of the way, How's Donnie doing ???
  16. I think Tai just realised if he'd pulled his finger out from the word go he could have won it That's another title that's slipped away from him
  17. The result, then, might be that the standard will only deteriorate if it stays the same or changes are made
  18. I'm serious because, for me, other than Bartoz Tai and Freddie the rest of them weren't up for it
  19. I hope they get some new blood in the GPS Listening to these interviews suggest they are a tired bunch of performers who really need a deep influx of enthusiasm If they don't Bartoz will walk it next year
