Jack Kingston, yes he did not disgrace himself against the Heathens, was speaking to his dad by the pits at Stoke, I said to his dad, he finished every race, and picked up a point or two, despite having Carburetor problems.
-
Yes i realise we can use RR Vog, but with a healthy 30+ point lead from the first leg, why not give a youngster some valuable Track time ? its a KO Cup second leg Vog. Where as against Your Potters Team it is valuable league points that are at stake.
-
It might be worthwhile The Heathens using a 3 pointer at the IOW, if there is an interesting young rider available, and wants the rides, or is that not covered in the rules, i say this not as any disrespect to IOW, but someone such as Dans namesake who rides for Scunny.
-
Another crucial meeting for both Teams at Monmore Wood, i take The Heathens to win by 10 points or more, I understand Dan Greenwood is unavailable and The Heathens will operate RR for him, Tom Perry moves down to reserve due to a quirck in the system, now wether or not that makes The Heathens even more stronger is debatable . I think i am correct in saying a win in this meeting will clinch The Heathens 1st objective of a play off place.

Mildenhall V Stoke - National League - 5/8/12
greyhoundp replied to PhilK's topic in National League Speedway
The Tigers to win by 10. but maybe The Potters can keep it to 6, very much depends how well the Potters lesser lights do, ie Tony, Ben and Liam. -
To be honest, the Heathens meeting was a difficult one to judge any Islander rider on, The Heathens were on fire, and The Islanders had machine gremlins pretty much throughout the whole Team at some point. Adam was well on the pace, not overawed, and for a rider of his youth and inexperience, he did very well, and i would never have guessed it was his first meeting, and i did think at the time he would be worth a place for the remainder of the season, its not before time the Islanders unearthed another gem. The Heathens are in town again, is it next week in the KO Cup, I feel sure it will not be another 60 point win for The Heathens, in fact i could see The Islanders reversing the result, if not the scoreline, will i be tempted down again ?, it depends entirely on the weather, and i would suggest anyone in the area go along and watch what i forsee being a very entertaining meeting.

He rode against Dudley last week; Isle of Wight Islanders = 29 1. Danny Warwick 0, 1, ef, 1 = 2 2. Ben Hopwood 2, 0, 3, 1, 0 = 6 3. Kyle Hughes 1, 2, 3, 3, 1 = 10 4. Aaron Baseby 0, 0, 1, 0 = 1 5. Mark Baseby 2, 0, 2, 0 = 4 6. Adam Ellis 1, 1, x, 0 = 2 7. Paul Starke ef, 1*, 0, 0, x, 3 =4+1 Read more: http://speedwayupdat...4#ixzz22UmKR0Vm He was not disgraced, and was well on the pace, for his 1st NL meeting

Buxton V Mildenhall - National League - 29/7/2012
greyhoundp replied to PhilK's topic in National League Speedway
So are we saying this was in Football Terms a profesional foul ? if thats the case, then i am very dissapointed with that attitude, and hopefully what goes around comes around. Well done to Buxton for holding The favourites to a draw, and well done to Mildenhall for such a good comeback, i guess it may have been spoiled a little by not completing the final heat. -
Buxton V Mildenhall - National League - 29/7/2012

May i suggest Tom Perry or Ashley Morris as a guest, i guess both of them have more than a passing interest in seeing Buxton ###### a home win. -
That was a dominant performance, and the Islanders were not helped by machine problems more or less throughout the whole team, namely off the top of my head, Danny Warwick, Kyle Hughes, Paul Starke, and Young Ellis, and those added to the massive scoreline, okay so Ashley Morris also suffered on one occasion, and without those the scoreline, if not the result would have been far more respectable, The Islanders never gave up, though the result was never in doubt from very early on in the meeting, The Track staff, and supporters were very fair minded, and The Heathens fans were there usual voiciferous self, and yes we to applauded IOW race wins, and when fallers cleared the Track, another first was to see Royno sitting in amongst the Heathens Fans "DURING" the actual meeting its no wonder the Fans think so much of him, what other Sport can you get this interaction ?, Royno is NO Prima Donna, and deserves everything he gets out of The Sport, Smallmead is probably the best standalone Race Track in the NL, and if you cant race on that, then you cant race anywhere. I will weather permitting be back again on other occasions. It was a great day weather wise, enjoyed Part of Day spending a few quid at Gunwharf Quay Shopping Outlet on the Quayside at Portsmouth, then over to the Island to take in a nice Curry, before the Main Course at Smallmead, and what a win it was, everyone again played there part.

Might get sunstroke more like, not used to seeing sunshine on the Island. 1st defeat ? that remains to be seen definately the signing of Mark Baseby makes the IOW stronger, Starke down at reserve strengthens the Islanders also, biggest problem the Islanders have is consistency, which Kyle will turn up, Danny is strong around the IOW, Ben and Arron both can score vital wins. For The Heathens Obviously Royno is going to be there or thereabouts 1, Ash & Tom both riding very well, Byron improving week by week , Daniel moves up into the team proper, and well deserved , Daryl is now showing the form of last season , and JWW will get some confidence boosting rides at reserve . Outcome ?; well i very much doubt there will be a lot in this, but i do expect The Heathens to win, maybe by as much as 48 - 42

aye up lad, that aint english oldsparky, weer did yo goo ta lern that ? yo bay beein funny bin yer. -
If this is the case, then he should contact the BSPA, who need to sort it out, pretty dam quick. Riders risk life and limb to earn a living, but to not get paid is just not on. Out of the Americans; Austin Novatril has to be the No 1 for a young boy, and thats what he is, he has unbelievable talent, and on a 5 average Hmmm, use the remainder of the season to settle in, and get a true average, then next year onwards and upwards.

With the weather forecast set fair, i am very tempted to travel down for this meeting.

I may suggest villiers you will have to tell some, who the great man is but some of his quotes stay forever in the mind, a bit like the "You Wine and Dine him, and WE will sign him" quote, forever in the History of The Heathens. -

Bostin win, prior to the meeting i would have been happy with a point, yes maybe we were lucky that Ashley Birks was unwell, but on balance i think The Heathens threw away more points <falling>when in scoring positions ie Dan Greenwood, Byron Bekker, JWW, Steve, and Tom e/f in his last ride against Ben , But as we all know, this is the way the Stoke team is set up, and covering for 1 of your Top four is nigh on impossible, except for Ben Reade, you need to gain as many points as you can, before Ben moves up. Having seen the meetings this season, i am now of the opinion we are slightly stronger than Stoke, who are relying on Ben Reade, and he is doing a fine job for you. I only heard some good natured booing, during the meeting, and applause for Ashley Birks on winning the Bronze Helmet. Thanks for Steve Worall on a splendid guest appearance, against his brothers Team, and well done to all the Heathens riders, for covering our two missing riders, and great support once again from the Fans. -

greyhoundp replied to vog's topic in National League Speedway
Tom has actually missed 2 home meetings, both due to clashes with Sky Live, and both were Ipswich v Somerset on Tuesdays, so who knows when he will get a new average, but it is largely irelevant for Tom, as he will neither go up to No1, nor will he go down to reserve, so he can ride wherever management decide to put him in the riding order, outside of No1 or reserve. -
Dont have a postcode Steve, but here is the location, on a nice sunny day its a great place to visit. http://www.buxtonhitmen.co/contactus

Stoke V Dudley (saturday 21st July, Nl. 7:30pm)
greyhoundp replied to vog's topic in National League Speedway
If both Teams had full strength sides out i could have seen the Heathens nicking the points, but without Royno and Ash, i would be happy with just the 1 point. I cant see any of our riders beating Birks or Lambert, Ben Reade should be good for double points, so i think Tony will more than score the points needed, the unknown factor is if one of Stokes top four have an off night, then they wont be able to cover it. We dont seem to ride The Stoke Track very well, Tom should get double figures, Byron and Steve should get around 8 a piece, JWW and Daniel around 4/5 each, If we have a match winner then it could be Daryl Ritchings, his form has been disapointing generally this season <mostly bikes seem slow> but on Tuesday, he looked to have a lot better set up with his bike, hence more speed, and if he shows Tuesdays speed, then i would expect double figures from Daryl, and a very close meeting. Whichever way it goes, good luck to both Teams, but "Ommer Um" -
Went along last night, not the most exciting meeting i have ever seen, but wanted to see scunny,s new crop of youngsters, Tommy Fenwick nice to see he was not overawed by riding in front of a big crowd, like what i saw, little bit wild, but liked what i saw, lost some points due to Ef,s. Max Clegg, much more steadier than Tommy, scored in all of his races, and one for the future. Olly Greenwood, he improved as the meeting went on, the 3rd time i have seen him this season, not so impressive as previously, but he has had a long lay off, and another for the future.I was a little bit dissapointed with Steve Worall expected more from him to be honest. I can see the potential in this squad, and this season is a learning curve for most of them, I see them and i see Ashley Birks and Richie Worall of 2 seasons ago. As i said earlier, not a great meeting, but Scunthorpe have the right Training method and i applaud them for it, I wish more Teams were able to follow this blueprint, The Heathens are not able to do this, but i wish they had entered a team in the MDL, no reason why they couldnt have done.

I am really sorry to see Dan Stoneman has announced his retirement from Speedway , from what is on his Fb page it is purely down to finances, reading just some of his Fb in the past few daays he has had to outlay on his Bike and his Van, and it seems only friday he was trying to get his Van ready. I can understand how he feels, feel so sorry for the guy. Dan Spike Stoneman Money, condition of the bike, fallen out with my dad big time... Totaly peed right off mate,, it costs way to much money I have seriously had enough now Dan Spike Stoneman Its just too much money, I would love to carry on with it, I'm getting myself in debt over this sport, I do love it and I will miss it and all my fans, but I do feel now that it is time to retire and call it a day , my equiptment ain't in A1 condition, I just can't keep riding on a shoe string, I am not going to improve with the condition of my equipment not only that its costing me 1000s and its not making 1 bit of difference, it is so hard without sponsorship.. specially for us young riders, I just hope my managers can appreciate this. Taken from Dan,s Fb page. Anyways, who do the IOW lined up to replace him for today ?.

Ivan, if you look through ALL the Teams, you will find most, NOT all, have riders who appear to have stagnated shall we say, and have made little or no progress, I really dont know what the solution is, as there doesnt appear to be enough riders coming through, Scunny have several 1st season prospects, we at The Heathens have one 1st season rider, Mildenhall have i think 2 first season riders, 1 of whom is out now injured for the season. Ideally were the riders coming through there would be a rule where each team had one 1st season rider, but there are not enough around. Something needs to be done, and soon.

The top riders in the NL who are all capable of scoring more than 3+ in the PL are Adam Roynon, Richie Worall, Steve Worall, Ashley Birks, Jason Garrity, Tom Perry, Simon Lambert, and Cam Heeps. the next grade of riders are Ash Morris, Rob Branford, Kyle Hughes, James Cockle, Ben Reade, Blackbird,Kerr and Ben Morley, i was expecting Marc Owen to join these but he has been out injured since April, another to keep an eye out for is Stefan Nielsen at Mildenhall, and i have been particuarly impressed on the two occasions i have seen him ride by young Nathan Stoneman who has unluckily just broken his leg, i believe he is from down your way. I would love Plymouth to be able to find a double figure points scorer down at reserve, what average would Ryans fellow countryman Tyson Burmeister. http://www.speedwayb..._Burmeister.htm come in on ? or the rider who has also impressed me American Austin Novratil he is only 17, and one for the future http://www.speedwayb...tinnovratil.htm both of these would be well suited by the St Boniface arena, however of all the riders mentioned, the stand out one is Simon Lambert.
