  1. Well, it was unexpected if not entirely surprising, this is the problem when using RR, all the remaining riders have to be on it, and that combined with falls and ef,s meant Stoke held the deficit to just the 1 point, Stoke were admireably led by Ashley Birks, with good support from James Cockle, Ben Reade, Tony Aitkin, and a most impressive, surprising, and i would admit unexpected 7 points from Lee Geary, well done to the lad, staying on the bike is half the battle. For the Heathens we were basically a 3 man Team led superbly by Tom Perry, and supported to varying degrees by Ashley Morris and Darryll Ritchings, though both of them had EF,s when in winning positions, ashes was at the gate, but it was his easiest programmed race, Joe was slightly disapointing at No1 six points aint good enough, Dan Greenwood had a night he will want to forget, whilst JWW was shall we say JWW. Well done to Stoke, and they should be able to finish the job off in the return leg, especially if The Heathens have to use RR, and JWW is unable to ride. Berniev, s various comments; i dont agree with the waste of a season ticket comment, or where he is coming from with the "Do the management really care" thingy ??, and as for the "We havent got the nights to make a go of it in any League" statement then thats news for many of us, maybe he cares to explain his/her thoughts on what was posted. Yes we do seem to have imploded at the death, but that was partly due to injuries again at the wrong time, and Adams loss cant be underestimated, not just from his points scoring perspective, but the Captains role he does so well for us.No It aint over until The Fat lady sings, but she has certainly cleared her throat over the last Two meetings.
  2. Well weather wise it shouldnt be a problem Vog, been Sunny but Bl**dy cold all day Vog, safe journey mate, but wrap up well if you intend to be outside.
  3. Well following on from the Ko Cup Ommering we got at Mildenhall, The Heathens have to get back on track at Monmore Wood tonight, and we have it all to do to take a decent lead up to the Potteries for tomorrows second leg. I am expecting us to build a lead of around 15 or so points, would like to hear everyones thoughts on how it will pan out, rather than harping back to Sundays loss.
  4. I dont want to see our supporters involved in this, The protest has to be registered before The meeting starts, so its irelevent how many Bates scored, to my mind Mildenhall won, end of.
  5. May i say firstly that it is great to see Byron may not be as seriously hurt as was first thought "Where there, s no sense there is no feeling Byron mate" get back on asap byron . Secondly, good to see posts from BOTH sets of supporters without abuse. Well done to Mildenhall and its nice to see some of there younger riders scoring a few points, and just shows how YOUNGER riders can improve over a season, despite the fantastic come back by The Tigers last season, i cant for the life of me, see how The Heathens can come back from this. Lets hope we can recover in time "weather permitting" for our two play off legs this week against The Potters, if not it will be another season of so near, but so far, YES there are some who WILL take pleasure if we dont win a major Trophy, and to them i say; lifes tough sometimes, and we dont always get what we deserve, but we will be back next season, trying more than ever to gain some Major Silverware for our great fans and management, but for ALL us Heathens there is ONE thing greater than Silverware to be won, and thats our OWN Track once again. Again well done to the Mildenhall Team.
  6. Jack, it should not be about restricting foreign riders, but increasing the oportunity for young British riders, and begin by only British riders allowed at reserve, and working up from that, that in itself will free up some 20+ slots in the PL immediately for British youngsters, who will then have the oportunity to progress there careers, this could also be implemented in the EL with maybe 1 rider to begin with at reserve to be British, but as the riders hopefully begin to come through again, this could be increased to the 2 reserves.
  7. Thats right adz, guests only allowed for a No1, should be able to cover at home on Tuesday, but away at Stoke is a different matter altogether, and looking ahead if we do qualify for the PO Finals, i am wondering if there is a signing that we could make, i am not au fait with all the rules, i know the signing deadline has passed, but in past seasons riders have been signed when another team has completed its fixtures, failing that, then the Trophies are Mildenhalls for the taking, because The Heathens are certainly not strong enough to cover for Byron away from home with RR, maybe Jayne could enlighten us on this.
  8. With Byron having a suspected broken left Femur posted by Stephanie Bekker, this puts The Tigers firmly in the driving seat.
  9. You know guys you need to be careful now, now is not the time to aim any vitreol at Mr Bowden he may just out of spite, do something similar to the Mallets, far better to negotiate for the items he actually owns, the most important being The Lease, but good luck with your endeavors.
  10. Always glad to read your input on cost cutting for the riders Deanno, and of course these cost cuttings need to be implemented, alongside other measures, to have salaries rather than points money, to help get promoters expences fixed, and bring in reductions in admission, and a host of other things do-able, now is the time they need to be done, before its to late. I hate to think how many promotions have lost money this season, and we all know were it not for SKY money, hardly any EL Team would exist, this to me is foundations built on sand.
  11. The Speedway powers that be really have to get there act together, on the Speedway in crisis thread, there are numerous good suggestions, some good, some not so good, some do-able and some not so do-able, one thing that needs to be sorted is this perrenial end of season congestion, year after year this rears its ugly head, Play Offs do we need them ?, and if we persist in having them, then they need to be done and dusted by the end of September, who except for the die hard supporters wants to watch speedway, on COLD misserable late autumn evenings ? certainly NOT new potential supporters, shivering, and waiting for Heats to be run, nothing to do except wonder when are the next riders coming to the tapes, this does nothing to help speedways cause in general, and once and for all needs to be sorted out. And from what i can gather, Play Offs have NOT been the money spinner people expected, and what are the attendences at meetings that have been run after the cut off date? throughout the Leagues, Wolves last night 4/500 ?, now before BB hints that Dudley are happy not to run the PO,s which is simply not true, I am happy to abide with the Play Offs so long as they exist, though i personally dont agree with them.
  12. I notice the Stoke fixture for Tuesday the 2nd has been called off, rearranged for next Wednesday 10th October, no comments except to say an 8 Team League, struggling to get the play offs ridden .
  13. Parsloes, think it was Oli who picked up an early season injury, Dan as far as i am aware has not been injured this season, You must remember Dan was only a NL reserve at the start of the season, and this after having at least 2+ years away from the Sport, and i believe he has been a regular, in the MDL.
  14. Your Top 5 will see you through, especially if Danny Halsey shows todays sort of form, and if he does then it could be a walk in the park and it wont matter, what your reserves do or dont score.
  15. As we at Dudley Know, It doesnt matter one jot.
  16. Sound like a great meeting, presented well, so Thanks to Leicester Speedway, and all the organisers, riders and officials, and congratulations to the winner Dan Greenwood.
  17. Just looking at the 5 day forecast, not looking very good for Stoke next Tuesday .
  18. BernieV, it was none other than our Chairman who, said my 1500 figure was incorrect, and i myself would say our crowds have slightly increased on last season, whatever they may be.
  19. Sorry, but i have to disagree with your estimate, i was taken to task for saying that we averaged around the 1500 mark at Monmore, i would like to hear what other peoples estimate of what the Monmore Wood crowd figures are.
  20. BB, you dont understand do you?. Its about WATCHING The Heathens, we still have a thirst, following many years without a Team, would rather see us lose, than be given sommat for nowt, however we DID win the League which surely deserves something.
  21. HH1 & V210, you realise their are certain Forummers whom will have NO sympathy whatsoever, though nothing has been decided for definate, my own stance on this is, if Teams cant agree, alternative dates should be submitted to the BSPA, and they should decide when meetings will be ridden. Meanwhile The Tigers will ride a NT meeting this Sunday, against who ? the IOW, rather than it be a POSF V The IOW.
  22. Scunny ride on Fridays, Somerset ride on Fridays, Edinburgh ride on Fridays, all i think are in the PL ride offs. So i do think we should watch this space, if we are going to have a re-run of the recent debacle about start times etc, then something needs to be sorted out, and pretty darned quick.
