Hooper, I can understand you defending your son, I would do the same, However as a paying customer BW double is entitled to an opinion, and as this is an open forum he is entitled to his views, just as YOU are entitled to defend your son, please dont take it ALL to heart, best of luck to Michael.

Can only see Buxton winning this one, though with the weather forcast for the Midlands over the weekend, it may well be the weather that wins yet again.

Stoke Sign Lambert (that's Simon, Not Robert!)
greyhoundp replied to vog's topic in National League Speedway
Yes, when people congratulate Stoke on "Developing" Ben Reade it is often forgotten that late last season he was cast aside for Tim Nobes, also i would agree Jamie Pickard has been shafted in that he is 1 meeting short of a new lower average, nothing new in that i dont suppose, but i thought Jamie served you well enough to have deserved a little bit better than that. I am not aiming at riders here, more at managements way to treat people <riders>, yes i realise Stoke,Mildenhall,IOW, Buxton need to be winning to retain there crowd levels, but one more away meeting for jamie to get a new lower average, was that TO much to ask, and the least he deserved ?. In a way i hope this comes back to bite you. Lambert for Worall, is pretty much like for like, though on current form Richie would likely out perform Lambert, in the NL they appear evenly matched, Wrathall for Pickard again experience wise like for like, but points wise i would have Jamie over Adam every day, and It appears to be a Top end consolidation for a mid Team loss. any way, we will see next weekend, weather permitting when we visit you. -
Its a pity they cant fit Jamie Pickard in, he to would strengthen up The Hitmen, not a million miles away from Buxton either, indeed apart from Dudley and Stoke, i think geographically Buxton is next nearest Track for him, i would like to see him in the Hitmen colours, and taken that he used to travel to Plymouth for home meetings, Buxton is relatively on his doorstep .

Why is there such an aparent difference in The Islanders home and away form ?? Yes i am aware they have the biggest Track in the NL, but they should i would have thought be able to adapt to Tracks such as Stoke, Scunthorpe and Kings Lynn,Yes Rye House,Mildenhall,Buxton and Monmore are maybe more technical, so there could be an excuse for those Tracks, but reading on updates, and comments here there didnt seem to be to much effort in by The Islanders riders, which is unacceptable to supporters. Hughes ex Rye House, Stoneman ex Mildy & Dudley Baseby ex Mildenhall Starke ex Plymouth Hopwood has a few years experience now Really only Danny Warwick is what i would term a big track specialist, so seeing previous teams the riders have ridden for, there should be no excuses from that point of view.

Fully agree Vog, much nearer a 7 pointer at this stage of his career, and he deserves it, and a seven point average wouldnt hurt him next season either.
-
It is meetings like this where riders appear not to try, that give other riders false averages, for instance Ben Reade, Vog says a paid 21 pointer tonight, elsewhere it has been pointed out his average so far in ALL meetings is pushing up towards 9 now, is Ben Reade a 9 pointer ? with respect he is not, and what will happen next year if he has an average of say over 8, will Teams want him on that average ??. I am not in any way criticising Ben Reade or Stoke but the system, and the fact we only have 8 Teams in the League, Ben Reade is having an outstanding season, and well done to him for that, what i am trying to say is will he suffer for it in the long term ?. Is this 3 home and three away meetings a fair system to have when we only have 14 meetings in all, a rider can ride in 5 home 2 away or vice versa, and have half the season in meetings on his 2011 average, again the point i am trying to make is will the riders suffer for it in the long term ?.
-
Disapointing showing from the Islanders ALL round, for a Team racing for a play off spot, this was a poor result, well done to Stoke.
-
Yes Islander you should be in with a shout to take some points, however not sure what the weather has been like up in Stoke, but here in Dudley, it has been raining almost all day, heavy for most of the time, though it has stopped for the last few hours, it has just started again now. If they have had anything like the rain we have had, then there is little chance of this being on.

Mildenhall V Stoke - Sunday 8th July
greyhoundp replied to PhilK's topic in National League Speedway
Hmm, good thinking Vog, if Ben Reade,s average is more than 5+ then if you signed two five pointers, would it mean having a 5 pointer at reserve?, if so that surely would be the best way for you to go. As you are probably aware i am a Heathens fan, and i dont like to see anyone out injured, i want us to beat Stoke fair and square, as it is, its beginning to look like 2 out of 3 for the play off finals, and i am thinking Mildenhall will choose the weaker fourth Team in the play offs, so as it stands i am predicting Mildenhall v IOW and Stoke v The Heathens. for the KO Cup final i am predicting a Mildenhall v Heathens Finale, as to who will win those tussles in the play offs and KO Cup, that i dont know, but again injuries have reared up, for two teams ie Nathan Stoneman who scored good double figures at Monmore Wood, and Richie Worral, to both of them get well soon guys, hope to see you both back, sooner rather than later. -
Mildenhall V Stoke - Sunday 8th July

Would like to see Stoke sign another rider,, but where do they find a rider of Richies ability on his average?., my guess is they will in the short term continue with RR. -
Would one of them have been Bob Andrews Grandson ??.

I think this puts down a marker as to just how good Mildenhall are, i really expected The Saints to push The Tigers in this meeting, however with Falls, Injuries and a poor showing from The No1, combined with an allround performance from the Tigers, The Saints were comprehensively beaten. -
Thank you for the reply Jane, I must say, I am surprised that Richard turned you down.
-
4 Sensible move this by The Raiders, whilst Richard is not a regular double figure scorer, he will do a good job for any team needing a steady 5 or 6 point man, indeed he would also have suited Buxton, good luck Richard, Thats not a bad looking Top 4 of Garrity,Morley, Hazelden and Sarjeant, all capable of double figures, backed up by Franklin.
-
Yes, I have always had time for Robert Branford, indeed i was touting him for a spot in the plymouth team on here before they signed there latest reserve, Rob always seems to give 110% though at times his bikes dont seem to have the speed needed, I also think Robert seems to have gone back a step this season <for whatever reason> and as you say Chopper, he needs to up his game a little or put another way, move up to the next level, though i dont think there is to much wrong a few tweeks to his equipment wont put right. As for last night Royno was on a different level, to almost everyone else last night, indeed he is for most home meetings in the NL, and i dont take much enjoyment from seeing him win by the length of a straight a least, as for the remainder of The Heathens riders NO weak links, and it remains to be seen what effect it will have when the new averages come into effect <after the Scunthorpe home meeting> with most likely Daniel Greenwood moving up into the Team proper. Buxton, to there credit they never stopped trying, all seven of them, with special mentions to Robert, Deanno, and Ryan Blacklock, never was a solitary point so hard earned. Buxton never used any tacticals and gave all there riders there programed rides, except for injury cover, fair play to them for that.

Bradley looked good, also liked the look of the No 21 rider, who was he ?.
-
You are welcome anytime, and hopefully young Mr perry wont have his gating boots on.
-
Richard Franklin, is around out there kicking his heels, no Team to ride for, his 2011 average is around mid four or fives age under 21, would certainly do a job for someone definately The Raiders, and as you say Waco the added bonus of allowing Chessel to drop to reserve, would his average fit ?.
-
Great away win for The Heathens, thanks to Ashley Birks for covering Royno, maximum from him, tremendous Team performance, this weekend will go a long way to us gaining a play off spot, but nowt is won in june, so keep up the momentum guys. Daniel Greenwood what can i say kiddo 2 years out paid for what 22/23 from 8 programed rides away from home on possibly 2 of the trickiest away tracks, well done. Thanks to all the staff up at Buxton for getting this meeting on despite all the rain thats been around over the week.

Great win by the Heathens, good all round Team performance, biggest difference between the 2 Teams was at reserve, where The Heathens scored 15 points and The Raiders only 2 points, interesting to note Tom Perry scored almost as many in the PL <5> meeting as what he scored in the NL meeting <6>. Cant see there much chance of the Buxton meeting going ahead tomorrow, i think the next one will be Stoke away next Saturday, if this ridiculous weather eases off. -

It wouldnt be to bad a crowd against The Brummies and Coventry either Kev . No need for an EL when those Teams are around, Throw in Leicester and Swindon, and that would be a mouth watering prospect for a Midland League.
