  1. Bit of a tough one for me this season I think. I would take Lawson back like a shot, but not sure he would want to come back. I would like to see Summers back, very solid rider and same for Skidmore although the noises he has made so far do not sound massively positive. I can't see Lemon back, and 50-50 on Wilko. When he is on it he is excellent to watch and never gives in, although I am sure he would admit he didnt have his greatest season. At reserve would be surprised if Konopka was not in the side. Started well, was pretty poor for a good while but picked up again towards the end of the season. Think he is worth the risk on a 3. Would like to see a young Brit at reserve with him (hopefully every PL team has to have at least 1). Not sure if Crang would want to come back, and probably a season too early for Danny Phillips? Maybe Rob Branford is a good shout if he comes back over. Possibility of Hall coming back on a low average? Would be surprised if the team is drastically different from this years though.
  2. I'm sure I read somewhere that each rider drops the lowest score from the rounds they have competed in. Not sure if that is true however.
  3. He was a Workington asset when he signed for Redcar. Only afterwards he became a lakeside asset.
  4. outclassed by a solid Berwick side tonight. Would happily pay money to watch Bellego and Jensen every week. Only Summers really turned up tonight for the Bears (although he was excellent). Felt a bit sorry for Jan, who got stuffed badly in a couple of first bends.Good to see Kus back to something like his best - he is racing again now and not just riding around.
  5. Could be any result really - although obviously no Lawson does weaken us somewhat. Have really enjoyed the last few meetings though, the racing on the whole has been pretty good and I have gone home entertained . Hopefully the same will happen tonight, with another Bears win to boot!
  6. Richard posted on Twitter that he is riding for Lakeside as it is not a re-arranged meeting.
  7. Cant argue with much of that. 1 rider in 2 heats, and Rafal having to take 7 rides so happy to get any win. Actually thought it was a pretty decent meeting with some good racing. Heat 15 was a cracker in particular. Skidmore really seems to have come of age this season, and thought Wilko battled hard for his points. Rafa was a bit unlucky to only get 2 points as well, best he has rode for a while. Back was an excellent guest but impressed with Rose. Started slowly but ended the meeting very well. Would have been tempted to chuck him in heat 15.
  8. Graversen also missing tonight after his fall yesterday, Lewis Blackbird will guest in his place.
  9. Totally agree with this - would cut down on a lot of restarts like we had last night as well. But if the rules are there they should be applied consistently. I did say in 1 heat, not heat 1. To be quite honest that is possibly true though, he could have excellent reactions. From the naked eye he appeared to get a flyer and that is the issue with the rules as they currently are. As above, should just change the rules as long as the tapes aren't broken.
  10. He clearly jumped in 1 heat - not sure about the rest. Although he should surely have been excluded in one heat as well. Was warned in the first running, then got called back in the next re-run for him jumping but not excluded? He was excellent value last night though - enjoyed watching him.
  11. Blew both his engines i think, although would still have put him out on borrowed machinery
  12. 13. It would be financial madness for Redcar to run against the World Cup IMO, and they have very belatedly done the right thing (should never have been planning on running). I'm not sure what it is like at other tracks but I know there are a lot of fans at Redcar who also love their football. If it was just a 'normal' game on then people would go to speedway and watch the game afterwards but this is the World Cup. I know I would have not been going to the speedway next Thursday and I'm sure there are many others like me. I do have every sympathy with people who have booked time off/hotels etc though. Poorly handled/planned from the start.
  14. Would have been financial suicide to run against an England World Cup match so have no problem with the call off - more worrying is that was scheduled in the first place! Edited to add that it should probably have been called > 10 days beforehand though.
  15. His first choice engine was away for tuning I believe. Just didnt look comfortable all night really.
  16. Agree with all of that, was very disappointing. I think tonight shows how reliant we have been on Jan. He has been excellent for us this year. Ipswich were very solid, without anyone really looking outstanding. Tungate looked good and Heeps overtake of Jan in heat 14 was excellent. A fully deserved win for them.
  17. Track looks good from the pics on facebook, and not rained for a couple of hours now. If weather stays like this should be fine, need to avoid too much more rain though as erimus says. Fancy a Bears win if it goes ahead. Lawson is in great form, and we have done fairly well at home so far. Graversen at reserve will again be the key, been excellent so far this season for us. Can see him getting 6 or 7 rides again tonight. Always interesting to see Richie Worrall at the STMP!
  18. Castleford - 16 1 - Danny Phillips - 3, R, 3 = 6 2 - Sam Darroch - 1, 2, 1 = 4 3 - Kean Dicken - R, n/s, 2 = 2 4 - Harry McGurk - 1, 2, 1+1 = 4+1 Berwick - 20 1 - Ryan McDonald 2, 3, N/S - 5 2 - Ronan Atkinson - F, 1, 2 = 3 3 - Kieran Douglas - 2, 1, 0 = 3 4 - Leon Flint - 3,3,3 = 9 Heat 1) Phillips, McDonald, Darroch, Atkinson F - 4-2, 4-2 Heat 2) Flint, Douglas, McGurk, Dicken R - 1-5, 5-7 Heat 3) McDonald, Darroch, Atkinson, Phillips R - 2-4, 7-11 Heat 4) Flint, McGurk, Douglas, Dicken n/s - 2-4, 9-15 Heat 5) Phillips, Atkinson, Darroch, McDonald n/s - 4-2, 13-17 Heat 6) Flint, Dicken, McGurk, Douglas - 3-3, 16-20 Didn't get any heat times, apologies! Young Leon Flint looked superb tonight.
  19. Was a decent meeting in the end - only really one line which was right up by the fence but still produced some decent racing and both sides were well up for it. Wilko was excellent, when he rides like that is worth the entrance money imo. Well backed up by Graversen (wasn't sure when we signed him but making me eat my words!), Lawson and Summers. Think Rafal is trying a bit too hard at the moment, looks decent enough but falling in points scoring positions. Am slightly worried about Crang though - started off the season decently but seems to have gone backwards. For Berwick, Matej was excellent when he gated. Jensen was very good value, although upset a few when he took Graversen off in heat 14. Wilkinson took exception to his line in heat 15 as well although from my viewpoint he didn't do too much wrong. Bellego is excellent to watch as well, another rider you would pay to watch. Very quick time in heat 1 as well (Boothers will probably correct me, but I think equalled the PL track record).
  20. Should be another close one at the STMP, looking forward to it! Intrigued to see Brady Kurtz and how he gets on. Hoping that Konopka can keep his improvement going, looked quick last week. I'm guessing that Nick Morris will be riding for Swindon? Any idea on who will be guesting for the Rebels if that is the case. Going for another close win for the Bears.
  21. I thought tonight was a great meeting and full credit to Glasgow for playing their part. Some really good racing - was surprised to see Wolbert only scored 4. Seemed fairly quick, but just couldnt gate. Very impressed with Berge. Very quick, a little bit wild but the kind of rider you pay your money to watch. Kasper Lykke looked good too. Delighted to see Konopka get his first heat win - and a comfortable win it was at that over Berge. Seemed to lift his confidence massively, and made a great pass on Harrison on his next heat. Most of the Bears had at least 1 good ride - Aaron looked very good. Very entertained tonight though.
  22. Great to see another NJL prospect get a chance a NL level. Stefan has made great progress over the last year.
  23. Can't see us being as bad as we were last week, and Lawson back certainly strengthens us. Can't see Skidmore having as bad a meeting again either, so would be hoping for fairly comfortable win. Weather is good at the moment, and no more rain is forecast sho should be ok!
