  1. Not sure that's wholly fair but they have been around the fourth/fifth best team, which is what the league shows. Belle Vue are seventh bottom Now if you want Ipswich to do well because they haven't been changing their side just before the play-offs then I agree. However, the play offs should be a separate competition and there should be merit (including prize money for the clubs) for their position in the league itself, irrespective of the play-off results.
  2. In the Sheffield statement it said they were faced with rider commitment issues in the last week or so, which forced them into changes - must've been referring to Ellis or Kerr - maybe because Ellis said he wasn't riding for a week?
  3. I see boughen failed to get a point tonight, how did he look (if you were there of course)?
  4. I think he was British champion at 17 wasn t he? And there was some stiff competition.
  5. I hope he doesn't pick up any injuries then. Should be good for a premiership berth next season.
  6. That's big praise. Not seen him yet but has to go some to be better than Lee or Nicholls.
  7. As he had been all year - I said he was destined for the top when seeing him score 6 I think it was at Foxhall early this season and nothing since changes my mind. Shame for King in this meeting, without being wiped out in the first running thought he could've nicked that final. Well done 'blind willie' Dishington (no relation to 'blind Willie' mctell)
  8. You like to argue eh? That would still have been their first meeting. Do you not think it ridiculous that a rider can be fitted into a team on the basis of an assessed average by 'signing' for a club today when everyone knows they don't actually have their first meeting for a fortnight and everyone knows they will get a real average before then which would make it too high to fit into the team. That's all I am proposing to deal with.
  9. Not sure I get your point. What I was saying is that the average a rider has should be that at the time of their first meeting, not when they are signed.
  10. Looked a pale shadow last night, shutting off way before the bends signals to me he's lost it and should retire. Sad but it happens.
  11. Yes, and shouldn't be allowed if he doesn't ride until after 28th, shouldn't matter when he's signed.
  12. I don't think it should be when they sign but when their first meeting is.
  13. Because then it's after the Scunthorpe fixture but before the Oxford one
  14. For 'authorities' read other promoters, maybe even those facing Glasgow in the days following.
  15. Forecast not great, can see this being called off?
  16. Being an old git I'm surprised you've not heard it before - I remember it from my childhood 50 years ago!
  17. Justified though because with his experience he should be getting more than 4 points as the third heat leader.
  18. Think I got that wrong! Kerr not doing it so far his rolling starts pegged back early by the ref.
  19. I see King is doing his best to lose it for the Witches
  20. Think that was the wrong decision, Gilkes did nothing wrong, Jenkins came back across too late.
  21. Thanks, missed that bit. He should have been notified he was on 'standby' in advance (or worked it out as us fans did once all the dropouts started )
