Sheffield vs Wolves 9/6/22
SPEEDY69 replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
That's why Ipswich dropped him. Needs to concentrate on championship I think, walk before running. -
Edinburgh - new home required….
SPEEDY69 replied to JanAndersen's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Completely agree. This is why I find Polish extraleague quite boring because I enjoy watching riders mastering a track or failing badly and it's not always about overtaking or the best set up bike. -
Nope, would've been off by lunchtime if that was the case surely
-
Surely this will be called off, rain according to the forecast.

20.05.22 - Scunthorpe v Newcastle (league, BSN)

That isn't the point though. I don't mind travelling only to discover the weather intervenes, it happens and I would check in advance. If promoters pick and choose for whatever reason, then so will I. Even more galling if I was local. -

Completely agree. This meeting should have gone ahead. I for one will not travel far any more because of this and certainly not plan in advance. -

Wolves v Ipswich Monday May 9th

What again? hmm. -
Ha, yeah, did they sell double glazing as well? I'd heard that if you continually adjust your clutch cable on the start line and also drop the clutch repeatedly so the bike lurches forwards, you will make blinding starts, nothing to do with anything else.
-
Or, a very short one
-
Decorative only. Some tuners will go for a look for their brand or a rider may want to distinguish between engines.

I thought Louis was pretty honest in his programme notes about the results so far and to quote Danny King's words was also a reflection of their frustration. Confidence/mental strength is so key in all sports and what separates champions on that day from the rest. Nobody will be more disappointed with their performances than the riders themselves and kicking them won't always help. The league starts at Foxhall next week with a really strong looking Belle Vue outfit (should Zagar be in their team and not Allen) and it must be a frightening prospect for the Witches.

To me a smaller track or one with a different shape presents challenges which skilled riders master. Wide open full throttle start to finish is quite easy to ride, depending on the surface of course and although that doesn't make winning easier because of course there are still four riders, it does make the performance of the bike and weight of the rider have more significance.

Yep, with my daughter and her friend. Looking forward to it - hopefully not near any moaning minnies

Awful guests for Ipswich, wonder who picked them - hope Heeps soon recovers. -

Ooh that wasn't there on my phone, unless it was really small/disguised. My TV does not have a browser, hence casting from phone. -

Hi, Although the quality of the picture sound was good, the one thing which I couldn't work out was how to fast forward. I was watching the Oxford vs Poole match on replay (£6.99), casting to my TV from my phone and would like to have been able to either double tap to FF in 10 second increments like you can with YouTube or accurately move the scroll line at the bottom to FF, rather than have to sit through parts I was less interested in. Is there a way to do this when watching on replay? -
Poole v Oxford 15/4/22
SPEEDY69 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I don't know the track that well down there but what I meant was that at Ipswich they water it in the days leading up to a meeting so the underneath stays moist, just guessing really -
I thought Rowe in particular was disappointing - this is a rider that was getting double figures at number two isn't it? What's happened?

I guess not much water went down, a bumper crowd expected and wanted to make sure it was on, although if your team can gate then why not make it like that! I bought the stream and had all sorts of problems for the first 15 minutes but found stream 3 and player B to be a combination that worked. Remember it's not how you start it's how you finish -
Similar to your experience Steve I lost a friend whilst playing badminton with him, just collapsed and that was that - he was 43. All reinforces the adage to live your life today. Nigel was part of the speedway furniture, such a sad loss.

Sorry to hear about your wife. With that tale of the obstacles to entry, that sounds like you should have a blue badge also.
