  1. SWEDISH ELITSERIEN ROUND 10 Tuesday June 29th 2010 VALSARNA - VÄSTERVIK at Emtbjörks AB Arena, Hagfors After taking all of their three points away from home, Valsarna will be looking to stop their home losing streak at three meetings. The Laguta brothers are still left out, while Roman Povazhny and Krzysztof Jablonski are still in the line-up. However, Valsarna must still cope with the absence of the injured first choice junior Anders Mellgren, with Victor Palovaara taking the junior role. Västervik are back at full strength after Rafal Okoniewski missed last week's action due to a heavy work load with his Polish team Rzeszow. Okoniewski is back, which pushes Nicolai Klindt down to reserve, and Tomasz Chrzanowski out of the line-up. Valsarna (home) 0 (43) 1. Roman Povazhny 2. Sebastian Ulamek 3. Daniel Nermark 4. Henrik Gustafsson 5. Tomasz Gapinski 6. Krzysztof Jablonski 7. Victor Palovaara ( 8. Marcus Broqvist ) Västervik (away) 0 (53) 1. Rafal Okoniewski 2. Peter Ljung 3. Chris Harris 4. Tomasz Jedrzejak 5. Tomasz Gollob 6. Robin Messing 7. Nicolai Klindt ( 8. Robin Bergqvist ) *-*-* LEJONEN - VARGARNA at Axelent Arena, Gislaved The Lions are currently in a three meeting losing streak, and have opted to scratch local rider David Ruud, which is unusual since this being a home meeting. The trio of Nicki Pedersen, Chris Holder and Mikael Max all missed last week's trip to Norrköping but are back in the line-up, replacing Ruud, Leigh Adams and Niklas Klingberg who scored a combined 16 points between them at Vargarna. Krzysztof Kasprzak and Adam Shields are missing from the Wolves's line-up that won comfortably against Lejonen last week. They are replaced by the British duo of Tai Woffinden and Daniel King, as both of them enters at second string positions. Perhaps team manager Peter Jansson have Kasprzak's two performences in Gislaved last year in his memory, with the Pole scoring a lowly 6 points in 9 rides! Lejonen (home) 0 (40) 1. Chris Holder 2. Dave Watt 3. Troy Batchelor 4. Piotr Swiderski 5. Nicki Pedersen 6. Dennis Andersson 7. Mikael Max ( 8. Oliver Berntzon ) Vargarna (away) 0 (56) 1. Scott Nicholls 2. Daniel King 3. Adam Skornicki 4. Tai Woffinden 5. Adrian Miedzinski 6. Michael Jepsen Jensen 7. Kim Nilsson ( 8. André Hertzberg ) *-*-* DACKARNA - PIRATERNA at G&B Arena, Målilla While Dackarna are at full strength, the same can't be said about the Motala outfit. Jonas Davidsson and Linus Sundström are missing due to injuries, and that's two big blows for the Pirates, previously without Emil Sayfutdinov. Against Dackarna, it's especially crucial to gain some advantage against the reserves, but Tomas Bäck will be out of depth IMO, so Piraterna are certainly up against it. Dackarna haven't lost yet, and I think they'll remain unbeaten after this one. Dackarna (home) 0 (48) 1. Andreas Jonsson 2. Hans Andersen 3. Fredrik Lindgren 4. Peter Karlsson 5. Rune Holta 6. Ricky Kling 7. Ludvig Lindgren ( 8. Joel Larsson ) Piraterna (away) 0 (48) 1. Antonio Lindbäck 2. Damian Balinski 3. Rafal Dobrucki 4. Robert Kosciecha 5. Greg Hancock 6. Tomas Bäck 7. Maciej Janowski ( 8. Tobias Bäck ) *-*-* INDIANERNA - ELIT VETLANDA at ICA Maxi Arena, Kumla Most of the Indianerna riders from last week remains in the team, as Magnus Zetterström appearently is still unavailable from his broken thumb. Daniel Jeleniewski, who was also unavailable at Vetlanda, enters the team instead of Linus Eklöf to form strong a partnership at reserve with Simon Gustafsson. Elit Vetlanda are in good form, and keeps the same riders in the line-up as in previous weeks. The evenly matched duo at reserve, Aspegren/Gomolski continues. However, a change has been made as Janusz Kolodziej takes the number 1 race jacket, while Lee Richardson rides as a second string alongside Jaroslaw Hampel. Jonas Messing takes the number eight junior position, instead of Jacob Thorssell. Indianerna (home) 0 (33) 1. Niels-Kristian Iversen 2. Bjarne Pedersen 3. Piotr Protasiewicz 4. Leon Madsen 5. Grzegorz Walasek 6. Simon Gustafsson 7. Daniel Jeleniewski ( 8. Pontus Nilsson ) Elit Vetlanda (away) 0 (63) 1. Janusz Kolodziej 2. Thomas H Jonasson 3. Jaroslaw Hampel 4. Lee Richardson 5. Jason Crump 6. Robin Aspegren 7. Adrian Gomolski ( 8. Jonas Messing ) *-*-* This week's Canal+ meeting is - once again - the Dackarna vs Piraterna fixture. That one, and all remaining meetings, can be followed via live updates on www.speedway.nu from 19:00 local time.
  2. No problems at all. Since being team manager for Nässjö, I don't mind doing recaps for the Division 1 rounds.
  3. DIVISION 1 - ROUND 9 This round as been spread out in a span of 8 days, so time to summarize. 10/06/19 Team Värmland - Filbyterna 63-32 The Linköping team came with only six riders to this away fixture, with aces André Hertzberg and frequent guest Andreas Lekander were missing so they never really stood a chance. The home side, at full strength, took an easy victory with Jeremia Thelaus scoring a full maximum. 10/06/23 Nässjö SK - Stjärnorna OFF This meeting was postponed due to track work at the Nässjö track. New date TBA. 10/06/23 Indianerna Junior - Ikaros Smederna 39-53 Henrik Karlsson scored a full maximum for Ikaros Smedernas as they won in Kumla. The Eskilstuna outfit was also helped by the services of Linus Eklöf who scored ten points. The Indians had to used several tactical substitutions to keep it close, but the strong main body of Ikaros Smederna made all the difference on the night. 10/06/23 Gasarna - Gnistorna 37-58 The Sparks have already dropped two away meetings, so took no chances as they visited Avesta on Wednesday night. They bolstered their strongest possible line-up, with Niklas Klingberg scoring a full five ride maximum and first year 500cc rider Mathias Thörnblom scoring 15 points in six heats from reserve. 10/06/27 Eldarna - Hultsfreds Gymnasium 22-59 After some time consuming work, Eldarna were finally able to ride at their home track in Huddinge again. However, the season home debut wasn't a happy one as Dackarna's reserve team cruised to an easy victory despite the fact that Eric Åshede withdrew after a heat 1 crash, but from what I've heard, he's "only" battered and bruised.
  4. That would make sense. Could it be too much sense for the sport of speedway? Not that it matters much, but who was third in heat 15 in Krsko? Sportowefakty.pl has Matej Kus listed as third ahead of Simon Gustafsson, but Speedway.org has Gustafsson ahead of Kus? It doesn't change the final standing, but it should be correct...
  5. From a Swedish point of view, I would like to see a heat featuring: Oskar Polis (=police) Freddie Broms (=brake) Grzegorz Knapp (=button) Pavel Pucko (=doofus) Knapp and Pucko are 500cc riders, but Polis and Broms are still youth riders, from Poland and Sweden respectively, so I guess I have to wait a couple of more years for it to happen. Anyway, before I get it off topic completely. Anyone who KNOW how FIM will fill the remaining two spots now when there are a Pole, Latvian and a Czech among the qualifying riders?
  6. According to Piraterna's website, he's OK. He was generally beaten up after his visit to the air fence, but nothing proved to be broken (amazingly!). Linus will leave the hospital in Linköping during the afternoon.

After a hammering against Lejonen in the previous home meeting, I had my hopes up for a closer contest against Indianerna, but it wasn't meant to be. It wasn't a particulary entertaining meeting, the highligths being Jason Crumps chase of Grzegorz Walasek in heat 4, his chase and pass against the same rider in heat 14, and the magnificent team riding of Janusz Kolodziej in heat 15, as he slowed Leon Madsen down for two laps before team mate Thomas H Jonasson was able to blast around Madsen. The art of team riding is certainly not dead! Elit Vetlanda (home) 63 1. Lee Richardson 0-3-1-1 = 5 (4) 2. Janusz Kolodziej 3-3-2*-2*-2* = 12+3 (5) 3. Jaroslaw Hampel 3-3-2-3-3 = 14 (5) 4. Kolodziej didn't look as dominant as in previous meeting, yet recorded an excellent 64,1 time, a paid maximum and provided the best team riding of the night. We (Elit Vetlanda fans) are getting spoiled. Hampel lost a point to an opponent for the first time since May 11th, and a string of 17 paid maximum heats came to an end. Jonasson had a bad one, but four good, so well done to him. Crump is getting closer to his usual self, with exciting chases and heavy point scoring. Gomolski did an excellent job, with points won from the gate. Aspegren did what could be expected. For Indianerna, Pedersen had a decent first one, but was nowhere to be found in his other two. Iversen tried hard, beat an opponent in his first four heats, before fading. Protasiewicz shed a chain at the gates for both of this retirements. A shadow of his usual solid Vetlanda performences in his other heats. Madsen mixed it well from a second string position and can't be blamed for the Indians' poor performence. Walasek had a great night, perhaps his best meeting ever at this track. Eklöf lead Aspegren in one heat, but overall, not particulary close to a point. Gustafsson looked faster than Gomolski at times, but couldn't pass. Man of the match: Janusz Kolodziej Most exciting rider: Jason Crump *-*-* CURRENT STANDING: 1. Dackarna, 9, 7-2-0, 4/4, 19p (+103) 2. Piraterna, 7, 5-1-1, 3/3, 14p (+55) 3. Elit Vetlanda, 7, 5-1-1, 2/3, 13p (+104) 4. Lejonen, 9, 4-1-4, 3/4, 12p (-4) 5. Västervik, 9, 5-0-4, 1/4, 11p (-18) 6. Rospiggarna, 8, 1-0-7, 0/4, 2p (-88) *-*-* NEXT ROUND - TUESDAY JUNE 29TH 2010: Lejonen (40) - Vargarna (56) Dackarna (48) - Piraterna (48) Valsarna (43) - Västervik (53) Indianerna (33) - Elit Vetlanda (63) Dackarna vs Piraterna is the Canal+ meeting.
  8. He's not quite up to Kim Nilsson's standard, but I rate him higher than Mellgren, but then again, Robin has more experience than Anders. Comparing him to Kim/Anders, I would say that Robin isn't as fast from the gate as either of those two but should be able to hold down a second string position by scoring somewhere between 5.00 and 6.00.
  9. SWEDISH ELITSERIEN ROUND 9 Tuesday June 22nd 2010 VARGARNA - LEJONEN at ICA Maxi Arena, Norrköping Scott Nicholls missed last week's re-arranged home fixture vs Indianerna as he rode for his British team on the night. Now he's back, and replacing Tai Woffinden at number four. Also, Adrian Miedzinski and Krzysztof Kasprzak swaps heat leader positions between them, with Miedzinski being back at number one, where he's been for most of the home fixtures. The Lions are missing several riders as they visit Norrköping. Nicki Pedersen is missing, just as the injured Chris Holder and Artur Mroczka, the latter was actually named in the line-up but will be replaced by David Ruud. Lejonen will also be missing Mikael Max who I guess couldn't make the logistics work between Daugavpils (Sunday), Norrköping (Tuesday) and Rzeszow (Wednesday). Piotr Swiderski and Niklas Klingberg makes their season debuts. Vargarna (home) 1. Adrian Miedzinski 2. Adam Shields 3. Adam Skornicki 4. Scott Nicholls 5. Krzysztof Kasprzak 6. Kim Nilsson 7. Michael Jepsen Jensen ( 8. André Hertzberg ) Lejonen (away) 1. Leigh Adams 2. Troy Batchelor 3. Dave Watt 4. Artur Mroczka David Ruud 5. Piotr Swiderski 6. Dennis Andersson 7. Niklas Klingberg ( 8. Oliver Berntzon ) *-*-* PIRATERNA - DACKARNA at Biltema Arena, Motala The Pirates are still missing the services of Emil Sayfutdinov, but has signed Michal Szczepaniak as a temporary replacement for the Russian. Szczepaniak makes - at least - his second stint with Piraterna, but isn't in tonight's line-up. His fellow Pole Maciej Janowski will however return to the line-up at reserve, with Robert Kosciecha making a move up to the main body of the team. Dackarna are at full strength, and rides with an expected line-up. Piraterna (home) 1. Greg Hancock 2. Robert Kosciecha 3. Jonas Davidsson 4. Rafal Dobrucki 5. Antonio Lindbäck 6. Linus Sundström 7. Maciej Janowski ( 8. Tomas Bäck ) Dackarna (away) 1. Andreas Jonsson 2. Hans Andersen 3. Fredrik Lindgren 4. Peter Karlsson 5. Rune Holta 6. Ricky Kling 7. Ludvig Lindgren ( 8. Joel Larsson ) *-*-* VÄSTERVIK - VALSARNA at Sparbanken Arena Västervik Rafal Okoniewski will be missing for Västervik tonight, as he has requested to be left out of the meeting due to a hectic schedule, away at Daugavpils on Sunday and home at Rzeszow tomorrow. Nicolai Klindt moves up into the main body, with Tomasz Chrzanowski filling in at reserve. Chrzanowski rode in Västervik's first fixture of the season, but has been scratched since then. Still, he's the best option according to team manager Mikael Messing as neither Joonas Kylmäkorpi or Denis Gizatullin has been on fire lately. After being a bit of a hot head in recent meetings, Grigorijs Laguta is scratched for tonight meeting, at his former home track, alongside his brother Artem. -"He needs to cool down a bit. He's been too hot for a while (two exclusions for unfair riding), and that has caught the referee's attention" says team manager Robert Eriksson to a local newspaper. Roman Povazhny and Krzysztof Jablonski makes their season debuts for Valsarna. Västervik (home) 1. Nicolai Klindt 2. Peter Ljung 3. Chris Harris 4. Tomasz Jedrzejak 5. Tomasz Gollob 6. Tomasz Chrzanowski 7. Robin Messing ( 8. Robin Bergqvist ) Valsarna (away) 1. Daniel Nermark 2. Henrik Gustafsson 3. Sebastian Ulamek 4. Roman Povazhny 5. Tomasz Gapinski 6. Victor Palovaara 7. Krzysztof Jablonski ( 8. - ) *-*-* ELIT VETLANDA - INDIANERNA at Vetlanda Motorstadion The management duo of Staaf/Wirebrand have opted for the same eight riders that produced the away win at Lejonen last week, with only Janusz Kolodziej and Thomas H Jonasson swapping second string positions between them. Martin Vaculik is out with a broken collarbone, but hopes to ride in the World U21 Championship Semifinal in Germany this weekend. Indianerna were forced to some changes ahead of this away fixture, as Magnus Zetterström broke one of his thumbs and suffered a concussion in Poland this weekend. Leon Madsen steps into the team at second string, which forces Renat Gafurov out of the line-up, being replaced by Daniel Jeleniewski who has a lower starting average than the Russian. Linus Eklöf makes his season debut in Elitserien, as the number eight junior. Elit Vetlanda (home) 1. Lee Richardson 2. Janusz Kolodziej 3. Jaroslaw Hampel 4. Thomas H Jonasson 5. Jason Crump 6. Adrian Gomolski 7. Robin Aspegren ( 8. Jacob Thorssell ) Indianerna (away) 1. Bjarne Pedersen 2. Niels-Kristian Iversen 3. Piotr Protasiewicz 4. Leon Madsen 5. Grzegorz Walasek 6. Daniel Jeleniewski 7. Simon Gustafsson ( 8. Linus Eklöf ) *-*-* Tonight's Canal+ meeting is the Piraterna vs Dackarna fixture. All meetings can be followed via live updates on www.speedway.nufrom 19:00 local time.
  10. I spoke with Zetters, at the track in Elgane, and he gave me the following scores: 1. Dennis Andersson 15p, 2. Michael Jepsen Jensen 14p, 3. Jonas B Andersen 11p (+3), 4. Timo Lahti 11p (+2), 5. Philip Tirsdal 11p (+F), 6. Alexander Edberg 10p (+3), 7. Lasse Bjerre 10p (+2), 8. Niko Siltaniemi 8p, 9. Patrick Bjerregaard 6p, 10. Tim Gudmundsson 6p, 11. Anton Göthberg 5p, 12. Daniel Henderson 4p, 13. Anton Rosén 4p, 14. Thomas Jörgensen 3p, 15. Lars Daniel Gunnestad 2p, 16. Patrick Herold 0p, 17. Björn Skaeveland 0p (2 heats as track reserve) Thomas Gunnestad should have ridden, but since he hasn't turned 16 yet, he wasn't allowed to compete within the UEM regulations. He was replaced by Patrick Herold.
  11. The Eldarna meeting was postponed as the track had not passed the track inspection at that time. According to their website, a new track inspection was scheduled for yesterday. Hopefully it went through so they can start riding their meetings at their actual home track. The Team Värmland fixture was off, due to rain if my sources are correct. No new dates are known for these meetings.
  12. AFAIK, both of these meetings were postponed. DIVISION 1 FIXTURES - ROUND 8 Wednesday June 16th 2010 Nässjö SK - Gasarna 64-32 The home side clamied their fourth win in five meetings as they beat Gasarna by 30+ points. The Avesta team missed the services of Pontus Aspgren (injured) and Andreas Bergström (work), which left guest Joel Larsson to be the lone Gasarna rider to record a heat victory on the night. Not much of a dramatic one, but it's two points in the bag for Nässjö who will face stiffer opposition in a week, when The Stars (Stjärnorna) comes into town. Nässjö SK 64 Jonas Messing ( 1 3 3 3 3 ) = 13 (5) Lennart Persson ( 3 3 1 3 2* ) = 12+1 (5) Jacob Thorssell ( 3 3 3 2* Fx ) = 11+1 (5) Thomas Ljung (guest) ( 1 Fx 1 1* ) = 3+1 (4) Robin Aspegren ( 3 3 2 2* N ) = 10+1 (4) Henric Lindqvist ( 3 1 2* 3 2 ) = 11+1 (5) Mikael Axelsson ( 1 0 1 2* ) = 4+1 (4) Gasarna 32 Fredrik Andersson ( 2 1* 0 1 ) = 4+1 (4) Alexander Söderholm ( 0 2 1 0 ) = 3 (4) Joel Larsson (guest) ( 2 2 3 1 3 ) = 11 (5) Eric Åshede (guest) ( 0 2 R 0 1 ) = 3 (5) Andreas Westlund ( 2 2 2 0 N ) = 6 (4) Simon Lindh-Åström ( F 1* F R R ) = 1+1 (5) Jimmy Börjesson ( 2 0 0 1 1 ) = 4 (5) Gnistorna - Eldarna 50-30 Both teams rode with only five riders, though Eldarna actually had three guests from Gnistorna. I guess this was an agreement so the meeting was able to be held at all. Can I just say "oh dear"... Stjärnorna - Team Värmland 49-47 Team Värmland suffered their second two point away loss in two weeks time, as they lost in Hallstavik. Henrik Karlsson proved to be an inspriational guest for the appearently unavailable Robin Törnqvist, and Värmland was able to force a last heat decider. However, Andreas Messing was able to split the away pair for a second place (behind Karlsson), which was enough for The Stars to win it by two. Filbyterna - Indianerna Junior 56-40 Smederna riders Alex Edberg and Robert Henderson were two good choice as guests, but for Indianerna Junior, Niklas Eriksson had an off day, and the reserves didn't beat an opponent between them, so they still lost. It was rather close after twelve heats (38-34) but Andreas Lekander and Sebastian Carlson scored a maximum in heat 13, with Filbyterna eventually crusing to a 16 point win. Hultsfreds Gymnasium - Ikaros Smederna This meeting should have been held on Sunday, but according to Dackarna's website, they'll meet on July 17th instead.
  13. PREVIOUSLY POSTPONED MEETING Wednesday June 16th 2010 VARGARNA - INDIANERNA 55-41 (Aggregate: 99-93) at ICA-Maxi Arena, Norrköping Attendence: 1802 Heat details, courtesy of www.speedway.nu. 14. I could have sworn I've heard that this meeting had been postponed to a later date, due to the European U19 Semifinal in Norway on the same date, but it isn't mentioned as that on neither of the team's websites, or on SVEMO's fixture list. Well, we'll see... 15. SWEDISH ELITSERIEN ROUND 8 Tuesday June 15th 2010 VALSARNA - ROSPIGGARNA at Emtbjörks AB Arena, Hagfors After winning in Hallstavik last week, Valsarna are looking to get the remaining three points available from the return leg. They will be forced to do it without junior Anders Mellgren who broke his collarbone in Hallstavik, so first year rider Victor Palovaara will continue to fill in for him. He did very well in his Elitserien debut to score three points in as many heat. Rospiggarna have signed Krzysztof Buczkowski as a injury replacement for Sebastian Aldén, and he will make his Rospiggarna debut tonight in Hagfors, with Ben Barker making way to accomodate him. Kauko Nieminen will ride in the main body of the team, with Buczkowski starting at reserve. After tonight's meeting, Rospiggarna won't ride again until the 6th of July, and by then they're hoping that the also injured Jesper B Monberg will be back in the line-up. Valsarna (home) (51) 1. Dackarna have their expected line-up, which leaves both Grzegorz Zengota and Rory Schlein out of the line-up. Not surprising. After failing to score in the home meeting versus Dackarna last week, Vargarna have opted to rest their Grand Prix skipper Tai Woffinden for the return leg in Målilla, with Aussie Adam Shields taking his place in the line-up. Other than that, only Daniel King is left out of the line-up, and with him being scoreless in his only meeting so far this season, it will take some time before we see the Brit riding for the Wolves again. Leon Madsen, who was found out to have an illegal silencer ahead of the GP quaifier in Denmark this weekend, will not ride. Team manager Daniel "Dalle" Andersson says to local newspaper Nerikes Allehanda: "We need to get to the bottom of this, and until we know more, Leon won't ride for us". Initially, Västervik tried several different line-ups to start the season, but now it seems that manager Mikael Messing has found his ideal line-up for the Västervik team. Joonas Kylmäkorpi and Tomasz Chrzanowski have only combined for 8 points in 14 heats so far, and are left out of the line-up once again, while Russian ace Denis Gizatullin still waits for a chance to prove himself. With Västervik's success so far, he might have to wait a bit longer. Indianerna (home) (40) 1. Niels-Kristian Iversen 2. Bjarne Pedersen 3. Piotr Protasiewicz 4. Magnus Zetterström 5. The Lions haven't lost at home since they entered Elitserien back in the spring of 2008, but faces a tough challenge against a Elit Vetlanda team that managed a draw in Gislaved last year, and looks to be in good form. Elit Vetlanda comes from a confidence boosting 64-32 win last week, but this time, they'll have to do it without paid maximum man Martin Vaculik who got injured in Terenzano on Saturday. Jonas Messing, his reserve partner from the home meeting, has been scratched after some mechanical problems lately. The new partnership at reserve will be Robin Aspegren and Adrian Gomolski, riding in their first away meeting of the season, after riding their two only fixtures so far on home track. Scott Nicholls is obviously unavailable from the Vargarna team that rides tonight, as his Witches team will ride at Belle Vue on Wednesday. Tai Woffinden will return to the line-up, after being left out of Tuesday's line-up for the away fixture at Dackarna. Their opponent, Indianerna from Kumla, will be at full strength for this re-arranged fixture, with Niels-Kristian Iversen back in the line-up as a replacement for Leon Madsen (read more from the Indianerna vs Västervik preview above). 17. DIVISION 1 FIXTURES - ROUND 7 Ikaros Smederna - Nässjö SK 63-33 Nässjö wasn't able to continue it's hot streak of victories to four in a row, as league leading Ikaros Smederna proved way to tough on Wednesday night. The away side, with a makeshift line-up consisting of three guests (thanks to all of them for their participation), played all cards available before the interval and was only down by ten points after the same amount of heats, but the strength in depth of the Eskilstuna team proved to be the overwhelming factor as the home side cruised to a 28-8 score in the final six heats, infront of 517 spectators. The home side came back from a six point deficit twice to force a last heat decider, but Joel Larsson and Thomas Ljung scored a 4-2 for the away team against previously unbeaten Freddy Godlund (and Niklas Eriksson). Larsson top scored with 13 points for Hultsfreds Gymnasium while Godlund had a 16 paid 17 score in six rides for the home side. Gasarna - Stjärnorna 50-46 Another close battle was raced in Avesta, another one that ended up in a last heat decider. Stjärnorna's Andreas Messing had to withdrew after a fall in his third outing, but the away team still brought in to a decisive heat 16. Gasarna held a two point lead, and Andreas Bergström made no mistake as he sealed his maximum with his fifth straight heat victory, to win it for Gasarna. Robin Bergqvist top scored for Stjärnorna with 11 points. Team Värmland - Gnistorna This meeting is held on Saturday... Eldarna - Filbyterna ...just as this fixture, which complete round 7.

Christian Agö 1* = 1+1 (1) There were some good heats as Elit Vetlanda crushed the two time champions Lejonen, particulary by Lee Richardson who passed riders on multiple occasions. However, it takes two to tango and it was only one team dancing this night. For Elit Vetlanda, Richardson didn't gate well in comparison to his team mates, but he earned many of his points from the back. It makes me laugh when people think of him as a gate-and-go rider only, that's simply not true. Kolodziej was untouchable, and continues to prove he's the best aquisition of the Elitserien season. Hampel looked fast all night, though beaten by Pedersen once. Jonasson was a bit up and down, go figure. Crump keeps crawling back into form, but he's not there yet. Messing only lasted a heat before blowing his engine at the gates in his second. Vaculik, well what can you say? Can't ever remember seeing a junior gating like he does. Incredible! Thorssell made his debut, and looked reasonably on pace with Agö on the track, but lost most of the meters due to a bad gate. For Lejonen, Pedersen actually looked quite fast in the second half of the meeting but got stuck behind faster gating riders. Ruud had one good ride on a track he usually goes well at all the time. Holder was better than the score suggests but didn't make a gate all night and sometimes got stuck behind team riding opponents or slower team mates. Watt never looked really close to beating an opponent. Max only beat Messing after his bike blew up at the gate, so in reality only scored gifted points, but he was more on pace than he has been on previous visits to Vetlanda. Mroczka improved as the night went on, on his first visit to the track. Andersson and Agö did what they should do against this opposition, away from home. 20. Excellent meeting at Skogsvallen (Nässjö) tonight, as Nässjö came from four points down halfway through the meeting, to win it in a last heat decider. Team Värmland looked like potential winners with Jeremia Thelaus, Victor Palovaara and Robin Törnqvist being unbeaten up to the interval, but home skipper Robin Aspegren scored three wins in heats 12, 14 & 16 to cool the Värmland trio off a bit. Aspegren won the final heat ahead of Robin Törnqvist, with Jacob Thorssell blasting around Victor Palovaara on the final bend for a 4-2 and a 49-47 win in the meeting. Incredible stuff! I'M SO HAPPY! Gasarna - Hultsfreds Gymnasium 39-57 Ludvig Lindgren made a rare appearence in Dackarna's reserve team, and scored a four ride full maximum for the winners. Gasarna, without heat leader Pontus Aspgren, lost the opening seven heats with a combined 11-31 score, a mountain to high to overcome. Gnistorna - Indianerna Junior 60-33 The Indians came with only six riders, and one of them (guest Chatrine Friman) crashed in her first heat, and withdrew from the meeting. Three of the away riders recorded 31 points between them, but the remaining riders only managed 2 between them. Stjärnorna - Eldarna 72-24 No comments, really.

The Canal+ meeting of the week produced some exiting racing, perhaps not as spectactular that the commentators made it out to be, though every meeting is better to watch live of course. Heat 14 was the best one, with Greg Hancock and tactical substitution Jonas Davidsson saving a share heat as they both passed Rafal Okoniewski in an all action heat. However, with Tomasz Gollob winning that heat, it meant that Piraterna suffered their first loss of the season. Västervik (home) 53 (93) 1. Rafal Okoniewski 2*-2-3-0-1* = 8+2 (5) 2. Tomas Bäck For Västervik, Okoniewski did a good job as heat leader and looked fast throughout the night. Ljung had a solid job as second string, and overall has had a much better season so far, than the previous season in Vetlanda. Harris chipped in with a solid paid ten, despite a touch/tape exclusion as Lindbäck twitched to lure Harris into the tapes. Jedrzejak was OK for his position in the team. Gollob was as good as he can be, when he wants to. Messing was out of depth, though he made a good gate in his first. Klindt has taken some steps forward, that's for sure. Bergqvist only had one ride, so I won't judge him on that. For Piraterna, Davidsson started very poor, but changed bike after his second ride, as suggested on the score sheet. Balinski did what could be expected of him. Hancock was OK, but can do better than this, I'm sure. Dobrucki gated like a rocket all night, but was too slow early on, and then rode some strange lines on the track, so lost several points. Lindbäck was a one heat wonder, looked awful after his first blinding ride when he beat Gollob. Sundström can't be blamed for the loss, he did his part tonight. Kosciecha was OK, but nothing special for a rider of his caliber riding at reserve. Man of the match: Tomasz Gollob Most exciting rider: Rafal Okoniewski *-*-* CURRENT STANDING (after 6 rounds): 1. 22. Sorry I wasn't able to post the usual preview last week for round 5, but I was away on holiday in Prague (Grand Prix) and Abensberg (SWC Qualifier), but now it's time for the round 6 preview, so here it goes: SWEDISH ELITSERIEN ROUND 6 Tuesday June 1st 2010 LEJONEN - ROSPIGGARNA at Axelent Arena, Gislaved After a smashing victory at Rospiggarna, Lejonen will look to get the remaining three points as well from this double header with the Hallstavik team. Leigh Adams, Chris Holder and Christian Agö have been replaced by Dave Watt and local riders David Ruud and Anton Göthberg. However, there are now questionmarks about the status of Troy Batchelor who withdrew from Peterborough yesterday due to the flu. Rospiggarna are missing both Jesper B Monberg and Sebastian Aldén through injuries, but should have Wieslaw Jagus back from last week's illness. Furthermore, Przemyslaw Pawlicki will drop down to reserve, and at the big Gislaved track, that might be an advantage for Rospiggarna as he could take six rides, and give back-up to the second strings. Lejonen (home) (63) 1. Nicki Pedersen 2. Mikael Max 3. Troy Batchelor 4. Dave Watt 5. David Ruud 6. Dennis Andersson 7. Anton Göthberg ( 8. - ) Rospiggarna (away) (33) 1. Mads Korneliussen 2. Kauko Nieminen 3. Wieslaw Jagus 4. Ben Barker 5. Ryan Sullivan 6. Anton Rosén 7. Przemyslaw Pawlicki ( 8. Linus Lydin ) *-*-* VALSARNA - DACKARNA at Emtbjörks AB Arena, Hagfors After a surprise point against Lejonen in round 4, Valsarna were on the wrong side of a hammering in round 5. In that meeting, they were missing the services of the Laguta brothers, and had Tomasz Gapinski as a scratch for that one. Now, both Grigorijs and Artem Laguta are back in the line-up, as well as Tomasz Gapinski. They replace the trio of Chris Slabon, Matej Kus and Robin Törnqvist who scored 12 points between them at Målilla last week. For Dackarna, there are no surprises in their line-up for this one. The partnerships of Jonsson/Andersen and Lindgren/Karlsson remains, but Jonsson/Andersen moves to number 1/2. Valsarna (home) (34) 1. Grigorijs Laguta 2. Artem Laguta 3. Sebastian Ulamek 4. Tomasz Gapinski 5. Daniel Nermark 6. Henrik Gustafsson 7. Anders Mellgren ( 8. Victor Palovaara ) Dackarna (away) (62) 1. Andreas Jonsson 2. Hans Andersen 3. Fredrik Lindgren 4. Peter Karlsson 5. Rune Holta 6. Ricky Kling 7. Ludvig Lindgren ( 8. Joel Larsson ) *-*-* INDIANERNA - VARGARNA at ICA-Maxi Arena, Kumla Last weeks meeting in Norrköping got rained off, so no aggregated point will be up for grab. The Indians are missing the services of the injured Niels-Kristian Iversen, and with Leon Madsen filling his place, Renat Gafurov doesn't fix under the maximum limit of 42.00. Daniel Jeleniewski makes his debut for Indianerna at reserve, just as Pontus Nilsson makes his debut as the number eight junior after a string of solid scores in Division 1. Vargarna have opted to scratch skipper Tai Woffinden for their second away meeting of the season, with Daniel King makes his season debut for the Wolves side. Scott Nicholls drops to reserve for the first time this season, where he should be able to score a bag load of points, despite it being away on a big track. Otherwise, there are no major changes in Vargarna's line-up for the meeting. Indianerna (home) 1. Magnus Zetterström 2. Bjarne Pedersen 3. Piotr Protasiewicz 4. Leon Madsen 5. Grzegorz Walasek 6. Simon Gustafsson 7. Daniel Jeleniewski ( 8. Pontus Nilsson ) Vargarna (away) 1. Adrian Miedzinski 2. Daniel King 3. Krzysztof Kasprzak 4. Adam Skornicki 5. Adam Shields 6. Kim Nilsson 7. Scott Nicholls ( 8. André Hertzberg ) *-*-* VÄSTERVIK - PIRATERNA at Sparbanken Arena Västervik The Västervik side put up a fight in Motala last week, being down by only six points at the interval before dropping another ten points in the six remaining heats. The same eight riders will participate this week, with some changes being made to the riding order. Robin Messing takes the number six race jacket and seems to be making his first meeting with scheduled rides, with Robin Bergqvist being the number eight junior. Piraterna are - of course - still missing the service of the injured Emil Sayfutdinov, as they come to start with the same riders who rode in last week's fixture at home, though with some schuffle of the riding order by team manager Stefan Andersson. Västervik (home) (40) 1. Rafal Okoniewski 2. Peter Ljung 3. Chris Harris 4. Tomasz Jedrzejak 5. Tomasz Gollob 6. Robin Messing 7. Nicolai Klindt ( 8. Robin Bergqvist ) Piraterna (away) (56) 1. Joel Larsson For Elit Vetlanda, Richardson looked slow all night and even though he saved some of his honour with a win in his last, the Elit Vetlanda fans can usually expect much more from the Brit. Vaculik didn't gate as he has in previous meeting, but had an OK meeting with a score of five in the main body. Hampel was quick as a cat from the gate, but even scored from behind. Hougaard's score looks poor, but all the points he lost, he lost to GP riders. Crump had a night to forget, just doesn't seem quick enough and two last places at home, that's not good. Aspegren rocketed out of the gate in his first, and did what could be expected overall. Gomolski started like a train but faded. For Dackarna, Zengota was a huge surprise package, as he gated extremely well in each outing to put himself in scoring positions. Could have had even more, and I doubt even Hans Andersen would have outscored him. Jonsson always beat an opponent, but should be able to score more than that. (Fredrik) Lindgren had a great meeting, by far his best on the Vetlanda track. Schlein didn't make a gate in either of heats 3 and/or 5, so didn't score. Holta was good, though not as dominant the previous ex-Vetlanda rider (Wieslaw Jagus) on show back in round 2. Kling came from nowhere to take an easy victory in his third outing. (Ludvig) Lindgren didn't look in top form. Man of the match: Jaroslaw Hampel Most exciting rider: Fredrik Lindgren *-*-* CURRENT STANDING (after 4 rounds): 1. Piraterna, 4, 4-0-0, 2/2, 10p (+49) 2.
