Am I correct in assuming that teams with the same number of points are seperated/ranked by the meetings between them instead of the overall points difference?

SWEDISH ELITSERIEN ROUND 13 Tuesday July 31st 2007 INDIANERNA - MASARNAAVESTA 43-53 (86-106) Attendence: 2278 The Indians looked to have the possibility of a home win against MasarnaAvesta, but the away team took the command with three 4-2's in the opening four heats. Only four heat victories were recorded for Indianerna who doesn't seem able to get everything working for them during this season. MasarnaAvesta on the other hand are still fighting for a Play Off spot. Indianerna (home) 43 (86) 1. Magnus Zetterström 0-2-0-1* = 3+1 (4) 2. Roman Povazhny 2-3-0-0 = 5 (4) 3. Västervik won each of the nine opening heats, getting heat advantages in all but two, to open up a 38-16 lead. Smederna didn't let the meeting slip further through their fingers but Niels-Kristian Iversen completed his maximum in heat 16 to stop the home side of reaching 40 points on the night. Smederna (home) 39 (76) 1. Krzysztof Kasprzak 0-2-3-3-2 = 10 (5) 2. Krzysztof Buczkowski 1-2-1*-2-3 = 9+1 (5) 3. Morten Risager 2-0-1-0 = 3 (4) 4. Mariusz Puszakowski 0-1-0-0 = 1 (4) 5. Nicki Pedersen started the comeback as he won heat 9 as a tactical substitute and when Jensen/Smolinski combined for a 5-1 in heat 13, the meeting was suddenly tied. A 4-2 to Hammarby in heat 14, followed by heat wins for Jensen and Pedersen in the nomination heats were enough for the win. Rospiggarna (home) 47 (92) 1. Greg Hancock 2*-1-3-2-2 = 10+1 (5) 2. They only took two heat victories, one of them as Rafal Dobrucki defeated Kosiecha/Walasek in heat 7. Christian Ingesson, the local Piraterna junior, hasn't had a great season in Elitserien, being scoreless in 10 heats before this meeting. He seems to be in good form though as he qualified for the Junior Championship Final last Saturday, and against Kaparna he beat at least one opponent in each heat to break his scoring draught. Piraterna (home) 60 (118) 1. Grzegorz Walasek 2*-1*-3-0 = 6+2 (4) 2. Robert Kosiecha 3-3-2-3-3 = 14 (5) 3. Kenneth Bjerre 3-3-3-2*-0 = 11+1 (5) 4. Michal Szczepaniak 2*-0-0-N = 2+1 (3) 5. The remaning Elit Vetlanda riders, lead by Thomas H Jonasson at reserve, tried the very best they could but despite a 40-38 lead with only three heats to go, Dackarna were stronger in the end, finishing with two 5-1's in the nomination heats infront of the biggest crowd of the year in Elitserien. Could definitely be a reason, even though Kennett's team (Poole) have their home meetings on Wednesdays. They already have a British league rider (Howe) in the team, another one would probably mean more problems if/when meetings clash.
-
Yes, one would assume it would be time to nominate our riders but I haven't heard anything. I'll see if I can find something out.
-
According to the list of all transfer on (our federation) SVEMO's website, Örnarna have released Per-Ola Klasson and replaced him with Roman Chromik. No news on Kennett, so I guess it fell through?

ELITSERIEN Piraterna signs Polish 20 year old Kamil Brzozowski instead of Roman Chromik. Indianerna signs Dariusz Sledz and Theo Pijper for Lars Daniel Gunnestad and the previously released Niklas Klingberg. Hammarby signs Slawomir Drabik to replace Gary Havelock, they have also signed Tommie Lundgren from Division 1 team Eldarna, entering at 2.00. Kaparna have made a swap, signing off Chris Louis and replacing him with Krystian Klecha. ALLSVENSKAN Lejonen signs Ulrich Östergaard on a 6.51 average, replacing Kim Almqvist. (Robin Bergqvist enters at 2.00 and doesn't take a place in the 9 rider squad) Griparna gets Miroslaw Jablonski on loan from Vargarna for the remainder of the season. Vargarna signs Adrian Rymel to replace Jablonski according to local paper Folkbladet. Örnarna signs Roman Chromik from Piraterna, replacing Per-Ola Klasson. DIVISION 1 Eldarna signs Pontus Sundström from Dackarna to replace Tommie Lundgren who went to Hammarby. -
Transfer Window 3 In Sweden Opened

A few new transfers have been made official so far: Piraterna have signed Swedish junior Kim Almqvist from Allsvenskan side Lejonen. Team Dalakraft (Allsvenskan) have made several changes: Matthias Schultz replaces Rickard Sedelius. Eric Andersson (from Team Bikab) replaces Tomasz Rempala. Kyle Legault replaces Sebastian Bengtsson who gets a transfer to MasarnaAvesta. Junior Robin Bergqvist goes on loan to Lejonen. -
I don't normally do the Allsvenskan news but I had a day off so I thought I might provide some information from the second tier in the Swedish league system. ALLSVENSKAN LEAGUE ROUND 10 Thursday July 26th 2007 Meeting scores are courtesy of www.speedway.nu. VARGARNA - LEJONEN 48-48 Attendence: 1328 The Wolves were without Belle Vue's Screen, Doolan and Forsberg (injured), but The Lions will surely take this huge away point as a confidence booster before the Play Off which could see these teams square off again. Neither team got the possibility to use a tactical substitute so it was close throughout the meeting. Mariusz Staszewski started with three straight heat victories for Lejonen while Thomas H Jonasson got going to finish the meeting with three straight wins, including heat 16, to top score on the Norrköping track. Vargarna (home) 48 1. Andreas Bergström 3-2-2-2-1* = 10+1 (5) 2. Robert Johansson 2*-2-1*-2*-2 = 9+3 (5) 3. Craig Watson 0-3-2*-3-2 = 10+1 (5) 4. Emil Lindqvist 1-1-3-0 = 5 (4) 5. Tobias Johansson 3-2-0-0-1* = 6+1 (5) 8. *-*-* VALSARNA - SOLKATTERNA 48-48 Attendence: 1972 Newcomers Solkatterna once again provided an upset against local rivals Valsarna as they came from eight points down to score a 48-48 tie infront of the biggest attendence figure of the season in Allsvenskan. Being a feared home rider when riding for Valsarna in Elitserien a few ago, Stefan Dannö had a nightmare for Solkatterna but Daniel Nermark keeps his excellent form, scoring 17 point including a heat 16 win, to secure a point for Solkatterna. Valsarna (home) 48 1. Robert Eriksson 2-3-0-Ef-2 = 7 (5) 2. Henning Bager 1*-2-1-3-1* = 8+2 (5) 3. Emil Kramer 1-2*-3-F-1* = 7+2 (5) 4. Ricky Kling 0-3-0-2 = 5 (4) 5. Griparna had strong reserves as usually but also lacked top power with only Freddie Eriksson, of the five in the main body, recording heat victories. Örnarna (home) 54 1. The home reserves took a maximum in the second reserve race, heat 11, to open up a six point lead, something that Team Dalakraft could never recover from. Team Bikab (home) 50 1. Previously sixth place Elit Vetlanda took three vital points against seventh place Piraterna to gain two places in the standing. However, the Pirates started the meeting best to get a 15-9 lead with some help as Hampel had an engine failure while leading heat three. The (bad) luck was then returned when Max suffered an engine failure on a 5-1 with Walasek in heat seven to keep Elit Vetlanda in the lead. The bad luck wasn't over for Piraterna who saw Balinski break his footrest in heat ten to stop Piraterna to tie the score at the interval. After the same, Elit Vetlanda were the better team and just when Piraterna had made a successful tactical move in heat 13 to keep them in the meeting (40-38), the home side returned the favour as the team riding pair of Holta/Richardson headed Sullivan home in heat 14. Piraterna suffered some bad luck when trying to regain the lead and tie the meeting in heats 7 and 10 respectively. One never know what might have happened if they had scored points in those heats. In the end, I think Elit Vetlanda was the better team on the night with an strength in depth performence as only Rune Holta produced a double digit score. For Elit Vetlanda, Richardson did one gate all night so had to work from behind to score his points, good trying efforts by him. Zabik started like a train but faded, still shows what a valuable contributor he will be for this team. Hampel had his ups and downs, unlucky in his first, overall a decent performence. Jedrzejak was OK, did a good second string job. Holta was fast all night and seems to be in tremendous form. Jonasson started slow but made a lightning start in heat 11 and had an easy win there, could need a bit more consistency at home, comes with the confidence I guess. Jankowski didn't look particulary fast tonight and may have had some easy points, but he did produce an important 5-1 when it was needed the most, in heat five, to get Elit Vetlanda back into the meeting. A solid reserve. For Piraterna, Bjerre looked very fast throughout the meeting but couldn't quite make his speed count for passes. Szczepaniak had a difficult job from the body of the team, as expected. Walasek had his best meeting in Vetlanda for a while, worth all he got. Max blew hot and cold but was unlucky in his third and was actually worth more than he got tonight. Sullivan was like a rocket from the gate and scored many points thanks to that, has definitely taken a step forward again for this season. Ingesson was never in it. Balinski, well, I had expected a bit more to be honest. He wasn't bad in any way and he had some bad luck, but still... SWEDISH ELITSERIEN ROUND 12 Tuesday July 24th 2007 HAMMARBY - DACKARNA 49-47 (98-94) Attendence: 3125 For the second time this season, Hammarby recorded a 49-47 win against Dackarna. The home side opened up a ten points lead after only five heats, but Dackarna made some tactical changes to claw back into the meeting. They needed a 5-1 in the final heat to win but despite the fact that Lindgren passed Pedersen, it wasn't enough was Pedersen managed to keep Jonsson in third place for the win. SWEDISH ELITSERIEN ROUND 12 Tuesday July 24th 2007 PREVIEW HAMMARBY (49) - DACKARNA (47) 1. Scott Nicholls, 2. Tomasz Gapinski, 3. Jesper B Jensen, 4. Joonas Kylmäkorpi, 5. Nicki Pedersen, 6. Kim Nilsson, 7. Martin Smolinski, (8. Robert Pettersson) 1. Fredrik Lindgren, 2. Charlie Gjedde, 3. Hans Andersen, 4. Peter Karlsson, 5. Andreas Jonsson, 6. Ricky Kling, 7. Emil Kramer, (8. Robin Törnqvist) The most interesting meeting, based on the current standing, is held in Stockholm. Third place Hammarby host league leading Dackarna. Both teams are at full strength, with Martin Smolinski at reserve for Hammarby instead of Adam Shields who has struggled for form this season. *-*-* MASARNAAVESTA (46) - ROSPIGGARNA (50) 1. Antonio Lindbäck, 2. Billy Hamill, 3. Dave Watt, 4. Ales Dryml, 5. Leigh Adams, 6. Simon Stead, 7. Linus Sundström, (8. Dennis Andersson) 1. Greg Hancock R/R, 2. Adrian Miedzinski, 3. Janusz Kolodziej, 4. Adam Skornicki, 5. Jonas Davidsson, 6. Travis McGowan, 7. Andreas Messing, (8. Jonas Messing) Greg Hancock crashed in Poland on Sunday and he will not start on Tuesday evening, but doubts are also in the home camp over the fitness of Antonio Lindbäck, he will practise during the day and decide if can race or not. Billy Hamill is back for MasarnaAvesta after several meetings on the sideline, and he has a point to prove. MasarnaAvesta, just outside of the Play Off, in seventh place have a crucial meeting tonight against fourth place Rospiggarna and a win in either direction can make or break MasarnaAvesta's season. *-*-* INDIANERNA (45) - SMEDERNA (50) 1. Magnus Zetterström, 2. Roman Povazhny, 3. Matej Ferjan, 4. Kaj Laukkanen, 5. Piotr Protasiewicz, 6. Henrik Gustafsson, 7. Simon Gustafsson, 8. Ludvig Lindgren) 1. Krzysztof Kasprzak, 2. Stefan Andersson, 3. Rory Schlein, 4. Krzysztof Buczkowski, 5. Wieslaw Jagus, 6. Morten Risager, 7. Linus Eklöf, (8. Robert Henderson) Two teams in the bottom of the standings are looking to get away from tenth place Kaparna. Indianerna have been struggling all season while Smederna can welcome back Krzysztof Buczkowski from injury and Stefan Andersson who missed the meeting against Elit Vetlanda due to illness. Smederna rode on the Kumla track when they visited the touring Kaparna side (and lost), so they have been there recently which surely should be an advantage in any case. If Krzysztof Kasprzak can re-produce the WTC form, Smederna could pull an upset in this one. *-*-* VÄSTERVIK (64) - KAPARNA (31) 1. Bjarne Pedersen, 2. Tomasz Chrzanowski, 3. Sebastian Ulamek, 4. Niels-Kristian Iversen, 5. Tomasz Gollob, 6. Chris Harris, 7. Viktor Bergström, (8. Sebastian Carlsson) 1. Chris Louis, 2. Rafal Szombierski, 3. Piotr Paluch, 4. Pawel Hlib, 5. Renat Gafurov, 6. Jeremia Thelaus, 7. Denis Gizatullin, (8. -) Billy Forsberg is missing from the Västervik squad but the remaining riders are available and against Kaparna, last in the standing, it should prove way too much for the away team. Kaparna are missing Dobrucki, Jansson and Nermark for some unexplained reasons, but Piotr Paluch makes his comeback after a long time on the sideline through injury. That won't be nearly enough to stop Västervik from hitting - at least - a mid-sixty score. *-*-* ELIT VETLANDA (54) - PIRATERNA (42) 1. Lee Richardson, 2. Karol Zabik, 3. Jaroslaw Hampel, 4. Tomasz Jedrzejak, 5. Rune Holta, 6. Thomas H Jonasson, 7. Lukasz Jankowski, (8. Niklas Larsson) 1. Kenneth Bjerre, 2. Michal Szczepaniak, 3. Grzegorz Walasek, 4. Mikael Max, 5. Ryan Sullivan, 6. Christian Ingesson, 7. Damian Balinski, (8. Tobias Ingesson) Piraterna, with four WTC finalists in the line-up, could prove a mouthful for the current champions. Elit Vetlanda must be considered favourites for this meeting but Damian Balinski at reserve will be a tough nut to crack for home reserves Jonasson/Jankowski, Balinski will score heavily and keep Piraterna in contention along with in-form riders such as Bjerre and Sullivan. A close meeting is to be expected, but Elit Vetlanda will probably (hopefully ) pull through. All meetings can - as always - be followed LIVE on www.speedway.nu from 19:00 on Tuesday evening.

It's complicated, but you asked so here it goes: A new rider to the Swedish Elitserien gets the average of his home league multiplied by: 1,0 Ekstraliga (Poland), Elite League (Great Britain) 0,7 Liga 1 (Poland), Superliga (Denmark), Extraliga (Czech Republic) 0,6 Premier League (Great Britain) 0,5 Liga 2 (Poland), Bundesliga (Germany), Divsion 1 (Czech Republic) 0,4 Other leagues If the rider in question gets an average below 5,00, it is automatically adjusted to the minimum average of 5.00 for new riders. The conversion factors between the leagues are: Average/0,75 + 2,67, from a higher to a lower league (Elitserien to Allsvenskan to Division 1) Average*0,75 - 2,00, from a lower to a higher league (Division 1 to Allsvenskan to Elitserien) So: 5,00/0,75 + 2,67 = 9,34 -

Read somewhere that Magnus Zetterström was asked to be reserve, but he said "No, thanks" based on the fact that reserves only can/could come in when another rider is injured, he didn't think it was much of a chance that would happen. Don't know if Nermark was asked, a shame if he wasn't because he has ridden well this year and deserved a chance. David Ruud is riding for Lejonen in Allsvenskan league, gaining match fitness after his awful crash last year. He has been scoring well and recording several maximums so far but I don't know if he has been in manager Mats Olsson's plans for WTC. Could be in contention next year I guess. Peter Ljung is injured, but on his way back. It is reported that he will practise in Poland in the next couple of days, possibly riding a test match and league meeting with his Polish team Tarnow. AFAIK, Sebastian Aldén is now on stand-by if Andreas Jonsson can't ride in Leszno this evening. -

After some research, I found an article in Eskilstuna newspaper Folket before the season started, which had the following content: Greg Hancock took him to Sweden back in September to ride in Greg's Testimonial in Hallstavik and Browne said to Folket: -"I loved the country right from the start. Everything was beautiful and the people were very kind. I knew the standard of racing in Sweden was good. I realised that it was here that I wanted to develop my career." Team Bikab riders Linus Eklöf and Jimmy Jansson had also ridden against him in Shaun Tacey Testimonial the same season, and Linus' father Leif provided the connection between the team and Matt, according to another article in Folket, and things then fell into place. Yes, it is. Örnarna's home town is Mariestad. -

It is strange indeed. I must confess that I personally have never seen neither one of them in action, not live or on TV, clips etc. They should possibly enter in Allsvenskan, but taking a gamble on a 9.34 assessed starting average may be a bit too much for most Allsvenskan teams. (5.00 Elitserien=9.34 Allsvenskan) The problem for riders such as Tobias or Kevin is that the number of places at reserve in Elitserien are limited as every line-up must include a Swedish U21 nowadays. The riders riding together with the Swedish junior must be counted upon to score some points and competing with established Elitserien riders as Kaj Laukkanen, Michal Szczepaniak, Tomasz Chrzanowski etc. isn't easy, and entering directly into the main body of the team would be too tough. With most teams fighting for Play Off places or to avoid relegation, signing an untried rider for the remainder of the season will probably not happen. I would be happy if that happened and riders from the minor speedway countries were to achieve valuable experience from league speedway in Sweden, Britain and Poland. The sport needs to grow bigger in the number of nations, not the opposite. BTW, before someone makes a comment on my previous post, I would like to add Edward Kennett to the list of riders that would do OK in Elitserien. How on earth could I miss him!? -

-"We will sign someone new." That's the words of Piraterna's team manager Fredrik Staaf according to local newspaper Östgöta Correspondenten. Robert Kosciecha is injured at the moment but I read that he won't be gone for long, so I guess it's either Zbigniew Suchecki or Roman Chromik that they are looking to replace. The problem is that I can't see many riders that are particulary better than those (especially Suchecki), but riders such as Piotr Swiderski, Lewis Bridger or Krystian Klecha would definitely do OK in Elitserien. Piraterna could probably do worse than Billy Janniro who would be something of a home track specialist, which they lack at the moment. Interesting days are ahead of us. -
World Cup At Coventry

Not a totally surprising result TBH even though it looked like being close in the beginning with Richardson coming last and Stead second in the opening heats. In the end, it was never any doubt on who were winning...unfortunately. Happy to see Jonas Davidsson in that kind of form once again on the international stage after his reserve rides in the Eskilstuna Grand Prix earlier this season. Great work Jonas! Also happy to see Lee Richardson coming back strong and finishing with a credible 11 point, not giving all the Rico bashers on this forum a reason to gloat. A huge well done to the Russians as well, I actually found myself to be cheering them as much as the Swedes sometimes! They had more riders troubling the opposition than the Americans, and I'm looking forward to seeing them once again on Thursday. Gizatullin and especially Saifutdinov are just so exciting, Darkin mixed it better than expected based on his early season results and (Roman) Ivanov tried hard for his 4 points. Gafurov can do much better, hopefully he will show that in Leszno. Roll on Thursday! -

Thomas H Jonasson's snapped chain in heat 9 turned a 3-3 into a 4-2 for the home side, but heat 10 was the real turning point. Holta and Jankowski had a 5-1 against Bjarne Pedersen when Holta locked-up badly exiting bend two of lap three, and Jankowski had no chance to avoid him, resulting in a heavy crash. Both walked back to the pit with Holta being excluded. A badly bruised Jankowski couldn't stop Pedersen/Bergström to record a double victory in the re-run and the Pole then withdrew from the meeting. (Am I being biased? Of course! Sour grapes? Definitely! And that's despite the meeting being over for over 24 hours!) Västervik took command and even though they surrended two straight 5-1's in heats 12 & 13 to make the score 39-39, Elit Vetlanda were never able to re-gain the lead. Though it went to a last heat decider, Lee Richardson was last from the tape, from the outside gate, and unable to catch the home riders. Jason Crump went from 3rd to 1st on the same bend on lap three, passing Pedersen and Gollob, but it was to no avail, Västervik secured a tied heat and the match by a two point margin. SWEDISH ELITSERIEN ROUND 11 Tuesday July 10th 2007 PREVIEW KAPARNA (45) - SMEDERNA (51) 1. Rafal Dobrucki, 2. Piotr Paluch, 3. Matej Zagar, 4. Pawel Hlib, 5. Daniel Nermark, 6. Kim Jansson, 7. Robert Henderson) A crucial meeting will be held in Kumla, home of Indianerna, as Kaparna host Smederna. Kaparna, still without a point in the standing, could be pushed even further towards Allsvenskan if they lose this meeting. But if Kaparna win, then the fight to avoid relegation will be even tougher for the remainder of the season. Piotr Paluch should have been making his comeback from injury but Renat Gafurov will take his place according to Kaparna's website. Daniel Nermark have had an excellent season and is promoted from reserve - to number 5! Matej Zagar makes a rare appearence for Kaparna while Mariusz Puszakowski makes his Elitserien debut for Smederna, replacing Eric Andersson. *-*-* PIRATERNA (48) - HAMMARBY (48) 1. Nicki Pedersen, 4. Joonas Kylmäkorpi, 5. Scott Nicholls, 6. Adam Shields, 7. Kim Nilsson, (8. Robert Pettersson) The meeting in Motala looks highly interesting. Piraterna is the only team to take a point from Hammarby at their Gubbängen track, so Hammarby will certainly be looking for revenge. Both teams are at full strength with Adam Shields dropping down to reserve, replacing Joonas Kylmäkorpi who takes the number four race-jacket for the Hammarby side. The Pirates should in most cases be considered favourites thanks to home track advantage, but they haven't been able to make an advantage of that so far this season, Hammarby may just sneak this one. *-*-* ROSPIGGARNA (51) - INDIANERNA (45) 1. Greg Hancock, 2. Adrian Miedzinski, 3. Janusz Kolodziej, 4. Adam Skornicki, 5. Jonas Davidsson, 6. Travis McGowan, 7. Andreas Messing, (8. Jonas Andersson) 1. Magnus Zetterström, 2. Roman Povazhny, 3. Matej Ferjan, 4. Kaj Laukkanen, 5. Piotr Protasiewicz, 6. Simon Gustafsson, 7. Henrik Gustafsson, (8. Ludvig Lindgren) After a minor slump, Rospiggarna could be back on track after winning against Smederna last week. They also won in Kumla earlier this year and could score three more points in the standing on Tuesday evening. While Rospiggarna have had a short slump, The Indian's slump have lasted the entire season. They can't seem to fire on all cylinders, and Piotr Protasiewicz hasn't score much at the Orionparken track earlier years so things looks tough for 9th place Indianerna. *-*-* DACKARNA (50) - MASARNAAVESTA (46) 1. Hans Andersen, 2. Peter Karlsson, 3. Fredrik Lindgren, 4. Charlie Gjedde, 5. Andreas Jonsson, 6. Emil Kramer, 7. Ricky Kling, (8. Joachim Engstrand) 1. Simon Stead, 2. Steve Johnston, 3. Dave Watt, 4. Ales Dryml, 5. Antonio Lindbäck, 6. Linus Sundström, 7. Daniel Davidsson, (8. Robin Bergqvist) At G&B Arena, league leading Dackarna takes on 6th place MasarnaAvesta. The away team are missing Leigh Adams and shouldn't have much of a chance against a full strength Dackarna side. *-*-* VÄSTERVIK (52) - ELIT VETLANDA (44) 1. Bjarne Pedersen, 2. Chris Harris, 3. Sebastian Ulamek, 4. Niels-Kristian Iversen, 5. Tomasz Gollob, 6. Tomasz Chrzanowski, 7. Billy Forsberg, (8. Viktor Bergström) 1. Jason Crump, 2. Thomas H Jonasson, 3. Jaroslaw Hampel, 4. Lee Richardson, 5. Rune Holta, 6. Niklas Larsson, 7. Lukasz Jankowski, (8. Robin Aspegren) The finalists of 2005 & 2006 squares off once again, for the sixth time in three years. Västervik took a convincing victory in Vetlanda back in May and the current champions Elit Vetlanda have struggled so far, being left in 7th place in the standing, though with a meeting to spare (on Thursday against Smederna). A full strength Västervik team have had some close encounters at home this season, but have yet to lose a meeting at Ljungheden. Second in the standing, Västervik must be considered favourites, but the top four of Crump, Holta, Hampel and Richardson will surely make life miserable for the home side. All meetings can - as always - be followed LIVE on www.speedway.nu from 19:00 on Tuesday evening.

Tarnow was just too far from our scheduled travel plan, so Leszno vs Bydgoszcz had to do. I think Bydgoszcz should be given credit for their fighting spirit; Klecha, Szczepaniak, Okoniewski and reserve Saifutdinov provided some opposition as they often packed the minor places behind Adams/Hampel/Kasprzak, but they do lack the top power in comparision to those mentioned, and when Balinski started to score, Bydgoszcz were doomed.

Such a shame, I had really been looking forward to that meeting... ...but hey, Leszno vs Bydgoszcz (and Gorzow vs Rybnik on Sunday) will have to do!
-
Nothing really more to add, but as an direct answer to marron's question: Yes, the teams have the same amount of meetings ridden at any specific time. The ten teams rides either home or away in each round, so all teams have always the same amount of meetings ridden, as long as there are no rain-offs which is the case at the moment (Elit Vetlanda - Smederna from round 9 will be held on Thursday July 12th).

SWEDISH ELITSERIEN ROUND 10 Tuesday July 3rd 2007 PREVIEW SMEDERNA - ROSPIGGARNA (44-52) 1. Rory Schlein, 2. Stefan Andersson, 3. Krzysztof Kasprzak, 4. Robert Miskowiak, 5. Wieslaw Jagus, 6. Eric Andersson, 7. Linus Eklöf, (8. Robert Henderson) 1. Greg Hancock, 2. Adrian Miedzinski, 3. Janusz Kolodziej, 4. Travis McGowan, 5. Jonas Davidsson, 6. Adam Skornicki, 7. Andreas Messing, (8. Jonas Andersson) After a strong start to the season, Rospiggarna suffered their third straight loss last week, and could be facing another one at Smedstadion. Smederna though are still missing Krzsyztof Buczkowski through injury while Rospiggarna are back at full strength as Travis McGowan makes his comeback in place of Mateusz Szczepaniak who failed to score last week. MASARNAAVESTA - PIRATERNA (46-50) 1. Antonio Lindbäck, 2. Dave Watt, 3. Simon Stead, 4. Ales Dryml, 5. Leigh Adams, 6. Steve Johnston, 7. Linus Sundström, (8. Robin Bergqvist) 1. Kenneth Bjerre, 2. Mikael Max, 3. Grzegorz Walasek, 4. Damian Balinski, 5. Ryan Sullivan, 6. Tobias Ingesson, 7. Michal Szczepaniak, (8. Christian Ingesson) MasarnaAvesta have definitely put themselves in contention for a place in the Play Off after last week's victory against league leaders Västervik. The home side have won some close meetings lately but will be hard pushed by Piraterna who actually have a better record away from home. Emil Saifutdinov are missing for MasarnaAvesta, otherwise the teams are at full strength. HAMMARBY - VÄSTERVIK (46-50) 1. Scott Nicholls, 2. Tomasz Gapinski, 3. Jesper B Jensen, 4. Adam Shields, 5. Nicki Pedersen, 6. Kim Nilsson, 7. Joonas Kylmäkorpi, (8. Robert Pettersson) 1. Sebastian Ulamek, 2. Tomasz Chrzanowski, 3. Chris Harris, 4. Niels-Kristian Iversen, 5. Tomasz Gollob, 6. Billy Forsberg, 7. James Wright, (8. Viktor Bergström) The most anticipated meeting of round 10 is held in Stockholm, at Gubbängen. League leaders Västervik lost their first meeting of the season last week, and have strangely opted to keep Bjarne Pedersen out of the team for this meeting. Questionmarks must be raised over the fitness of Ulamek and Chrzanowski, and against a full strength Hammarby side, Västervik could be suffering the second straight loss. Elitserien debutant James Wright might want to have a say about it, even though the reserve races will be tough against Joonas Kylmäkorpi. INDIANERNA - DACKARNA (38-58) 1. Magnus Zetterström, 2. Rafal Okoniewski, 3. Matej Ferjan, 4. Henrik Gustafsson, 5. Piotr Protasiewicz, 6. Kaj Laukkanen, 7. Simon Gustafsson, (8. Ludvig Lindgren) 1. Fredrik Lindgren, 2. Charlie Gjedde, 3. Hans Andersen, 4. Peter Karlsson, 5. Andreas Jonsson, 6. Ricky Kling, 7. Emil Kramer, (8. Joachim Engstrand ) The Indians have scratched Russian Roman Povazhny and brought Rafal Okoniewski back into the line-up, as an effect of last week's awful display at home. Dackarna continues with the reserve pairing of Kling/Kramer and must be considered favourites for this one, they are the better team on paper, are in good form and have been successful on the Kumla track for several years. ELIT VETLANDA - KAPARNA (60-36) 1. Lee Richardson, 2. Karol Zabik, 3. Jaroslaw Hampel, 4. Tomasz Jedrzejak, 5. Rune Holta, 6. Thomas H Jonasson, 7. Lukasz Jankowski, (8. Niklas Larsson) 1. Rafal Szombierski, 2. Denis Gizatullin, 3. Rafal Dobrucki, 4. Chris Louis, 5. Renat Gafurov, 6. Michael Berntsson, 7. Kim Jansson, (8. -) Bottom team Kaparna have a huge mountain to climb to avoid the 10th straight loss of the season. The winless Kaparna have brought back Chris Louis into the team, in place of Daniel Nermark, and gives the interesting Russian Denis Gizatullin another chance. For Elit Vetlanda, Peter Ljung has been taking a timeout indefinitely due to injury/rehab and will be missing, but Elit Vetlanda can bolster a solid pairing at reserve, Lukasz Jankowski and Thomas H Jonasson.
