  1. 3 points under the limit, not seen any other line ups so far, will not be bottom I'm certain. Stand by my statement we'll be challenging.
  2. Has Jepsen Jensen Racing hacked your account SCB? That is a very good line up.
  3. Decent line up, expect a title challenge with that seven. Enough left if Nelson no shows to sign a decent replacement too.
  4. I don't think Bridger likes the Rye track too much and as an Eastbourne rider why would he double up with a saturday track?... Personally wouldn't want him in the team. Kennett would be my choice, Olly Allen would also do a very good job.
  5. Hazelden is a loss IMO as Sarj would be but both are replaceable. We were planning to use Robert Lambert this year but were not granted permission by the bspa, if he rides NL I'm pretty sure it'll be as a Raider.
  6. Yeah I mean Simon, whilst not a first choice of many he picked up towards the end of the season and is better than any of the three pointers available IMO. As for Kennett, it would benefit him in the same way it has Ben Barker, he'd pick up meetings and valuable earnings without as much expense as he would incur going abroad. He needs a shot in the arm and returning to Rye could be just that for him.
  7. Pretty sure it'll be Lambert at reserve and I reckon Kennett would jump at a chance to come back, would be a great confidence boost for him riding PL.
  8. Morley Chessell Hazelden Owen Sarjeant Coles R.Lambert That'll do.
  9. No thanks, terrible idea, gets floated every winter and would ruin the Premier League. Half the fun is going up north to follow the Rockets for me.
  10. If it is Simon Lambert at reserve we can have anyone up to a 7.20 EL average, Eddie Kennett returns perhaps?
  11. Mellgren, Bunyan, Nelson, Garrity and Nielsen confirmed on Herts Mercury website, subject to Nelson's visa naturally In talks with a few potential number ones too, be interesting to see who we end up with.
  12. All before 2006 when the points limit was lowered and all at times when bonus points were included in averages.
  13. Some people just like to have a moan. Would be good to see Havvy race again, think he'd want to bow out on his own terms rather than as a result of injury.
  14. Perhaps Len knows Nelson isn't coming back and has signed Nielsen, Garrity, Bunyan and Mellgren as well as a heatleader leaving us needing a number one and a reserve, no necessarily a 3 pointer? If we do go down the 3 pointer route who would the fans want to see? I reckon Sarjeant is the best option realistically, he can mix it gone and away and I reckon with regular meetings he could even put a little on his three point figure. I think the stand out 3 pointer is Stefan Nielsen but he'll probably be at Scunny or Ipswich. Who knows maybe Rambo Lambo will be back...
  15. Stuart Robson fits the bill perfectly. Not sure we should start the season with a rider below Kasper and Jason though. Gonna be a good year is 2013!
  16. Could have sworn when the Raiders signed Sarj it was announced as a full transfer, could be wrong though...
  17. No thanks to Bridger, if we have Eddie back I'd support him however I think he would drop down on too high an average. Anders Mellgren can become a PL number one in 2013, he should start no higher than third in the averages. A top three including him, Grajczonek and an out and out number one would take some stopping. With two of Nelson, Nielsen, Bunyan and Garrity at reserve all season to back that top trio up we'd be a force top be reckoned with once again.
  18. Grajczonek, Mellgren, Nelson, Bunyan, Garrity and Nielsen would leave about 9 points for a number one, injuries permitting that's the PL champions for 2013 IMO.
  19. I'm going as it's the last meeting of the season and I need my fix, other than that it is nothing more than a glorified challenge meeting. As for Len Silver's open letter to the Mercury it is very much to the point and has an air of Len knows best rather than allaying the fears of the Rye House faithful which it should have done. Shadders was not the only fan who was mentioned, however it seems the comments regarding Jason Doyle hit a nerve. It is my opinion the letter is very much going over what has already been said by the promotion, of course the Doyle incident last year will take it's toll this season, people don't like being told if they don't like it then lump it, especially at £16 a pop. The winter won't have change what has been said and another winter will not change that either. There needs to be an attempt by the promotion to build bridges with alienated fans who are their bread and butter. As for family tickets, my family don't attend any more due to cost, they stopped attending in 2006, I'm the only one who still regularly attends, that's £64 that Rye are losing out on each week for four adults, a family/group ticket at say £45 is better than taking nothing surely, plus at a more reasonable price people are more likely to spend money at the food/drink concessions in the stadium. I read the Mercury this morning to see what Shadders had to say in his response to Len and to be honest I wasn't surprised to see it hadn't been printed. We have a top set up at Rye and regardless of all the knocking one of the best promoters in the game. I'd like to see Len really go for it next season, put out a strong team, drop admission prices or implement a group ticket and work with the press to get people back in the stadium. In business your consumer is the life blood, you have to tell them why you should get their business, not tell them you need it to be successful but they will get what they are given.
  20. True, though he goes off to Germany and does it with parental permission, why not allow it here too, maybe with a competency test for riders who want to do such to prove that they are capable of controlling, not just riding a 500cc bike.
  21. I agree, which is a shame, if we did swap Robbo for Nelson, I'd also get Doolan out and replace him with a big number one, I'd have Gjedde back if his injury problems are aside. Other potential names mooted to fill spots would be Grajczonek and Lanham, I'd be happy with Grajczonek. What about Richie Worrall? He's on a bargain average and if Lakeside are intending on using him I guess they shall be buying his contract, he could come down and race for them on Friday, then stay down to ride for us on the Saturday. I imagine he'll be wanted back at Newcastle, however as he is making rapid strides he may be looking to get into Poland as the season gets going, can't do that at a Sunday track. We're nicely located near Stansted Airport too
  22. That would be way under the points limit, even by Rye standards. Last I remember hearing is that Luke won't be ready to race again until around June, too much of the season to use a stop gap rider for, especially Morley or Sarjeant so we need to plan without him for 2013. Luke offers stability in the engine room of the side, when he returns to race fitness mid season he may have to wait for a chance elsewhere to end the season in the PL or he could always ride for the Raiders to get his racing sharpness back to ride for the Rockets in 2014. There is talk of Nelson coming back, I can't see it personally although he is a good signing on a 5.33 average. Wishful thinking but with rumours of Doolan coming in and Robbo potentially on the way out at Newcastle: 1. Robson 2. Bunyan 3. Mellgren 4. Kling 5. Doolan 6. Nielsen 7. Garrity Comes in at just over 42 points.
  23. Will be interesting to see now who complains about the late call off and if they're the same people who complain about the early call offs that we usually get...
  24. Handbags ladies. Complin is a very entertaining rider, shame to see him retire though he is doing so at his peak. If he'd not retired first time he may well have made it as an Elite League heat leader. Whenever I saw him at Rye he was gash but round the bigger tracks generally he was box office. All the best to Lee, you don't have to be a world beater to be a crowd puller.
