Handbags ladies. Complin is a very entertaining rider, shame to see him retire though he is doing so at his peak. If he'd not retired first time he may well have made it as an Elite League heat leader. Whenever I saw him at Rye he was gash but round the bigger tracks generally he was box office. All the best to Lee, you don't have to be a world beater to be a crowd puller.

Where's that confirmed?

Rye House V Ipswich 6th October
Ben91 replied to crazysue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Mellgren has to be Rocket of the year, nothing against Garrity who has been brilliant when not injured, he will only get better no doubt. Anders has consistently top scored home and away, in a lot of cases being the only rider to show up away from home so to speak. Gonna be the man to watch next year in the Premier League. -
He's not a Lakeside asset though
-
I believe the technical term for that is a windmill.

Robert Lambert National League Next Year?
Ben91 replied to Damon's topic in National League Speedway
Sorry guess my post wasn't too clear, we tried to get dispensation for Robert to race in the NL this season (2012) I was wondering if this is a rule imposed by the SCB/BSPA stopping riders under 15 ride or if there was actually a real legal reason? -
Robert Lambert National League Next Year?
Ben91 replied to Damon's topic in National League Speedway
Spot on, hence Len Silver trying to get dispensation for Robert to ride for the Raiders this season. Out of interest, is there any legal reason Robert couldn't race in the NL at 14 yet a 15 year old schoolboy can or is it a case of the BSPA being far too rigid with their own rules. -
Rye V Stoke Part 2 Of Dbl Header 22/09/12
Ben91 replied to BossMan's topic in National League Speedway
Maybe Stoke were offered the chance to come to Rye before the cut off date and didn't agree to it because they didn't want us in the play-offs where we'd stuff them again? Just playing Devils advocate -
It's easy enough to figure out what a riders average will be, the bspa are usually slow in releasing final figures too which doesn't help fans who want to know who they could sign for the next campaign.

Rye V Stoke Part 2 Of Dbl Header 22/09/12
Ben91 replied to BossMan's topic in National League Speedway
Such a shame the cut off date robbed the Raiders of the play-offs. Connor Coles is going to be some rider if he carries on in the same vein he has started his career, he looks very raw but with another season of NL racing behind him he will be a top rider at this level. It's a shame Tom Braddock decided to quit the sport, he was looking very good and would have formed a formidable reserve partnership with Connor if he'd carried on. Whilst I'm here it is vital the Raiders continue next season, our young lads have a lot of talent, they have all struggled due to a disjointed summer no doubt. I'd like to see Morley, Sarjeant, Hazelden and Coles retained. I'd add Robert Lambert as he is a top talent and to get him racing competitively round Rye in preparation for PL in 2014 would be a good idea. On top of that if we could get Marc Owen back I reckon Len could be the man to help him get over the bad knocks he has had and back on track to fill his undoubted potential. For the last place, Len should try get hold of the young lad Adam Ellis who has been impressing for the IOW. Failing that bring Luke Chessell back. That's a young, hungry side who could all potentially progress to the Rockets. 1. Morley 2. Ellis/Chessell 3. Owen 4. Hazelden 5. Sarjeant 6. Coles 7. Lambert -
The team you've suggested is as likely to be the Rye team next year as it is likely for Shadders to win this years x factor. The best way to get a decent idea of a riders average for next year is to work out how many meetings they have ridden this year, how many they are left to ride, then how many from last season will need to be counted. Take the meetings ridden this season and the amount that will be added from last year and work out the average. Simples.

Great result for the Raiders, can't believe the joke that is the cut off date considering the disjointed season we've had due to adverse weather. If the Raiders sneak in, unlikely with the Islanders going to Lynn, then we could cause an upset. Garrity is one of the best riders in the league, Sarj has been on top form in the last few meetings, probably because he's actually been racing regularly, something that hasn't happened for many of the Raiders this season. Ben, again is a big hitter at this level now, whilst Shane Hazelden wasn't Hackney number one last year for no reason.

If you don't splash the cash you have a pony team, no one comes and you go bust too, vicious circle really. Len is the most experienced promoter in the game, compared to the Mallets at Newport who struggled. These things are cyclical, we'll be back on top soon, let's just hope the presentation steps into the 21st century!

Josh has been a very good guest for us, would love to take him off your hands tbh, on a 7.5 average roughly I think he'd be a steal as a second heatleader. Think building a team with Bager as a third heatleader would be a bit of a gamble, especially with Henry on an inflated Brough Park average joining him in the engine room. That being said as long as the Tigers come to tapes for 2013 that is the main thing! We flogged Linus Sundstrom to Peterborough for 20k plus the winter before last, the year we should have held out declaring the side and could have kept him as a D/U rider, but I digress.
-
Ah most people who aren't fans of him coming back are so because he has a bit of a shady past. He's a talented rider, I'd expect he'd still be active riding moto x etc in Oz and at 19 he's still got time on his side.
-
Why wouldn't you want a rider on a bargain average? You won't win anything building a side on a rider's personality.
-
Sorry but I'm missing the part of this post in which you've backed up your big headed claims you know more about speedway than everyone else here. Give me a camera and mic I'll be a speedway commentator, get me in the box I'll be an announcer/presenter. Give me enough money I'll buy the club but that doesn't make me any better than anyone else and it doesn't need any skill to do. Some of the drivel you've spouted above is down right disrespectful to the true Rye House fans, we all disagree but at the end of the day we want the best for our club, even Chris! Although I guess if you weren't there at Rayleigh you don't count as a true fan in your view?

What are you on about? As I've said already twice now, rolling averages are taken over up to 38 meetings, not a true reflection of Jason's season for Rye. The reason he has stayed at reserve is the rolling averages, Richie Worrall has spent most of the season at reserve for Newcastle despite averaging 8+ real time. Nobody has said he will add 2 points to his average next year, I certainly haven't. If he can average the same as he has this year it'll be a good year again as the amount of bonus points he has picked up have proven that he is a good team man. Interesting to see Grajczonek back on Saturday, would be a very good signing as a second/third heat leader for next season.

Robert Lambert National League Next Year?
Ben91 replied to Damon's topic in National League Speedway
Rye House applied for special dispensation to use Robert as a Raider this season, would suggest that both the rider and promotion had come to an agreement. Hope he does line up as a Raider next season, learn the track before coming into the Rockets on a 3 point average in 2014 all being well. That being said it was hoped Mark Owen would do the same, he seemed to struggle last year sadly. Hopefully Robert won't have the same trouble. World Speedway's big meetings are raced on the big continental tracks, Robert has probably made the right choice racing competitive meetings abroad against some top opposition rather than poodling round in the Under 15 Championship and winning it at a canter. -
That's the whole point though, he's put almost 2 points on his starting average, the rolling averages make that look modest. If he was being made to look good by his rolling average you'd have a point. He's well worth having in reserve and has a few seasons in him yet, starting next year with the two Jasons at reserve would be a good start to team building.
-
Not at all, Bunyan is averaging 6.08 with bonus points included. Rolling averages have kept his average low, plus the fact the BP's don't count towards his average for team building purposes. Bonus points mean he is finishing behind a team mate which is a good thing for the team obviously. He's a strong rider to have in reserve on an average which doesn't tell the whole story. I'll be disappointed if he isn't in the side next year.
-
Probably be a point or two under, can't see that side challenging for the title either. Stefan seems to perform well at Rye but I'd be dubious about going in with a reserve on a lower average than Garrity. It is vital we keep hold of Bunyan, he picks up a lot of bonus points, he is a lot better rider than the short sighted amongst the Rye fans are making out. The team below which I posted the other day has the strong top end and reserves you need to be a contender with scope for improvement in 4 of the riders. With two of Bunyan, Nielsen, Nelson and Garrity at reserve at all times we would be serious contenders. 1. Gjedde 2. Bunyan 3. Mellgren 4. Nelson 5. An Other (7-8ish) 6. Nielsen 7. Garrity
