  1. Always interesting to see which gate is the best / worst at these meetings. Historically 1 and 4 have been the best at Cardiff, except one year when 1 was a graveyard. In the meeting last Tuesday in went like this. Gate 1, 7 wins Gate 2, 5 Gate 3, 6 Gate 4, 2 Total points Gate 1, 35 Gate 2, 32 Gate 3, 35 Gate 4, 18 This is the advantage of having a practice meeting before the main event, hopefully Ole and his team will make gate 4 better and all will be fair.
  2. Coventry are riding that night, and Danny is very hard to replace, as we found out V Newcastle.
  3. I also disagree, and our lot can pass as they've had to prove on many occasions as their gating is so poor. Top 6 should be comfortable (as long as Cam is as we expect), with Peterboro blowing hot and cold we might finish 4th, but the top 3 do seem set at the moment.
  4. Bruv. We know from experience arranging meetings with Edinburgh isn't easy. They'll usually be involved in all competitions, but I assume dates were very limited, and it was better to gamble on the fact Nico wouldn't make it, than arrange when Stefan was in the U21's.
  5. Track was good, whole Evening went very well. 21 heats all over in around 2 hours. But with 3 experienced British refs ( 2 as unpaid volunteers ) running things from the pits, what could go wrong?
  6. On Sunday it was Howe and the reserves, but this is Speedway and It's Wednesday, so it might have changed.
  7. I'm with the majority on this, his refusal to take the R/R last Thursday shows him in a very bad light. Let's move on and wish the lads the best for the rest of the season.
  8. Totally agree. On Sunday Ritchie was having a shocker and Stefan was riding well, Stefan was in my Programme in heat 14 before it was announced, if Ritchie didn't like it, then he's not the team man some on here are suggesting he is.
  9. Wouldn't say I've ever been a fan, but as long as any rider is doing his best, then that's fine by me. But if CL thinks Rohan can over this blip, then I trust his judgement, he's forgotten more about this sport than us lot on here will ever know. Welcome to Foxhall Ashley, hopefully your teammates will start performing at home thus enabling you to have 4 rides each meeting, we don't bite and don't expect miracles, but just try your best, and don't get in the way of a faster teammate, that really pisses us off.
  10. Like most Witches fans I'd love to see the back of Rohan, he's body language never looks right, there's obviously something wrong with his fitness or his confidence. Maybe he's heard a whisper and that's why he's been getting in the way of his team mates lately. But bringing in an untried European to replace Rohan would be a big gamble with Cam coming back next Week. We all hope that Cam can produce his better form, but he's bound to take is easy for a few meetings, he hasn't travelled halfway around the World to pick up peanuts playing spannerman for other riders, he needs to be earning, and you can only do that if you stay out of trouble and stay fit.
  11. We went around them on the first bend, it depended on what gate you were in. The outside gates put you in a position to pass, when for the inside you lost so much ground moving wide to get on the only line, but with that in mind, I was surprised Danny and Nico chose 1 and 3 in 15, with a point secured I'd have gone for 2 and 4, but they obviously had a plan, shame it didn't come off.
  12. Is there more to this arm problem that cost us the cup match than meets the eye? He used to be able to pass on the outside at home, but not now. He falls when under no pressure, just a thought. But whatever it is, there appears to be something wrong these past few meetings.
  13. As others have said, we had to wait until heat 13 to get a pass, and that was only because the hapless Tungate rode the wrong line and let Mr Popular go around him. Once again our new Manager made all the right calls all Weekend and was let down, but no doubt 1 or 2 will still blame him for 2 more defeats. We lost 3 points due to reruns, as we were leading when the race was stopped, but had that not happened then we wouldn't have used the double anyway, so I don't recall us throwing away many points, only Tungate in 13 was a chuck away. So we've got 4 riders doing their stuff, 2 not, and one coming back very soon. I'm sure the Hawful Hawkins is doing all he can to sort things out, and hopefully he soon will, but Tungate is a worry, I just hate it when he goes into the bend like a novice who's just switched from grasstrack, or has he always done that? Really liked the improvements made to the stadium, I hope the owners get rewarded with bigger crowds.
  14. Just hope we put up a good fight, a point would be nice but can't see it. Nico has never seen the place, but he never wins his first race anyway. But if Danny and Nico do well, Gino and Rohan chip in a bit, and we can always rely on the trusted R/R to be 3rd top scorer, then you never know. At least we'll be there in plenty of time today, will have to look out for the chap with a bald head, didn't spot anyone fitting that description last night that wasn't obviously a home fan.
  15. After 8 hours at the wheel ( minus 90 seconds for a wee break ) made it with a few minutes to spare. After 3 heats I was questioning my sanity, but Nico and Danny made it worthwhile. Got to agree with Baldy about the Miskoviak analogy, but how many riders do look for their team mates these days? When we left we were hoping for a point this weekend, so we've got what we came for, not expecting anything tomorrow.
  16. Not too sure if we'll make the start. ETA was 16-45, now 18-45 and still crawling. A1 shut and diversion is a nightmare.
  17. We all know a rider has to be awful before changes are made. Chris stays very loyal and sometimes it pays off when the rider rediscovers his form. But I just hope when the play offs are out of reach, then we'll hopefully bring in a young Dane with a view to next season. If Chris was a hard nosed businessman who was in it for his own glory, then he'd probably wield the axe, but it can't be easy sacking your mates. We should remember, Chris never really wanted this gig, if anyone else had offered to take over from John, he'd have said "take it". He could see this sport can only go one way, and it isn't up. Maybe that's the reason not that many fans moan all the time, unlike many other Towns, at least we've still got a track.
  18. We know it wont happen yet (if at all), but the mood on the terraces is certainly that a couple should go sooner rather than later. Once the play offs are out of reach here's hoping something is done with a view to next season. But this time last season we were calling for a couple to be dropped, only for them to turn it around and finish the season strongly. Obviously changes are down to finances, is there any money in the bank to make changes?
  19. 8 up with 4 to go, can only be the riders, you cant possibly blame the promotion or Manager for that. Danny gets his first bad gate of the season and Rohan stops him making progress. Then as the track isn't prepared like it has been, when Nico fails to make the gate he can't do what he's been doing all season and win 12 & 14. As for R/R, I can't see there's another rider sitting at home waiting for a call who could do better.
  20. When he prepares the track and drops the clutch. I'll agree with that.
  21. The Ref gets my vote, at least he got on with it and I was home early. Come back soon Bob, don't want to watch many meetings on slick tracks like that, very difficult to pass tonight. Now off to get my head examined, when our proposed meeting in Sibiu this weekend get knocked on the head, I stupidly volunteered to drive to Worky and Glasgow, I can't bloody wait.
  22. Only seen one meeting in Teterow, so hard to have a proper opinion, but seemed a bit big and flat to me. But would rather see Speedway on a proper track and fans standing on grass banking, than a crap track in a modern seated stadium. Hopefully they'll arrange it when there's a meeting on that wonderful grass circuit next door, that would certainly help the attendance figures.
  23. Looks like Phil came up trumps tonight, all his decisions appear to have paid off.
  24. I'm afraid that result hasn't glossed over last night's debacle, but at least we took some points off one of our rivals for a play off spot. Feel for Panthers fans, the Wonderkid certainly let them down and cost them the meeting.
