  1. Listening to Alex Brady the other week it seems he was refusing to ride,it just so happens he has gone and injured himself again now anyway. R/R will be permitted, but i still think we won't have to use it.Fikngers crossed of course.
  2. The riders averages should remain the same until the end of May shouldn't they?So Zagar would fit anyway after you have completed 25% of the league meetings on May 19th.
  3. We will have to wait and see i suppose
  4. As Daniel Smith said,we would get a facility anyway. As it seems he is refusing to ride and as he don't ride for another club in this country that wouldn't bother him anyway. We should be through 25% of our matches anyway in the next 20 days(weather permitting),would Kildemand be back from his broken bones by then, doubt it.So we would be able to have the temporary injury signing again which would then take us over the 25% of PL matches permitted before we can make changes.
  5. Why would the potential signing of Zagar for Belle Vue have any bearing on the Lynn replacement.Lynn's replacement would be through an injury
  6. I'm unsure on the rule tbh.But if it is breaking the rule you can't just throw the toys out of the pram and well we will pull out of the league then.
  7. Excellent from our reserves going by the updates.Looks like we carried Lawson and Pickering a bit tonight, but still got the win. I'm like you Speedball not getting carried away atm, only with watching Pickering i am a bit. Can't believe we have doubled our wins already from last season, that's a positive straight away.
  8. Think Ipswich are in a much better position tonight than they were on Monday night. They have Riss and Heeps back so this is their normal 1-5,plus they have Shanes in for an out of form Rowe.So they are then missing Starke which will be a miss to the score chart you would think. But they are replacing him with Hume who many fans thought should have been given a chance instead of having a guest on Monday. So now he is being given his chance.
  9. Most certainly, going from the 3 excellent meetings he has had for Lynn so far this season.Certainly not afraid to mix it as proved with Doyle on Monday.
  10. So as Kildemand is injured,Lynn can take Zagar from under Belle Vue's nose Think Lynn are sorted anyway
  11. Still missing my point i think.Whilst i said speedway is mainly a points game,it's also about entertainment.I also said i would take Pickering on a 9,even though he probably wouldn't maintain that average his entertainment and everything that goes with him atm is worth it.Of course it's always nice to win,but the people i have spoke to after our home meetings haven't mentioned the wins just the about the great rides Pickering has had.As i said in a previous post too,atm newcomers to the sport want to see great racing they are not necessarily concerned with wins atm.Pickering is probably the main reason why the newcomers around me have come back again. It's hard to get kids of 14/15 out to speedway now but they have come back for more. If i was Sheffield i would have took Pickering over Ellis for the reason Sheffield would have still been the team to beat.Plus they would have one brilliant entertainer in their team. That's a brilliant recipe for getting people back.
  12. I would like to think we will be at for strength on Monday.Only concern for me is it will be Pickering's first visit to Monmore.Hopefully he will realise quite quickly that the track isn't quite the same shape as Lynn's
  13. There you go BB,buy 10 of them sell them for £4 each outside the stadium and there's your entrance fee on the profits. You would think there would be 10 kids who's parents would buy them one at a decent price of £4 wouldn't you.I might be one of those kids at the age of 53
  14. 3 newbies standing with us,dad and his 2 kids around 14 yrs old. They have now come to the first 2 meetings(enjoyed it last week).Would think the shift Pickering alone put in last week made them want to come back again yesterday. My daughters boyfriend went to speedway for the first time away at Peterborough and really enjoyed it and came to the home meeting. They couldn't make it yesterday as they are working away.It shows people can still enjoy the product if you can get the riders in like Pickering who they can enjoy to watch. It's not just his riding, but doesn't he enjoy bigging it up with the crowd.Must have to dig out my air horn from 35 years ago now.Are we still allowed to use them or are they outlawed now with many other things.
  15. You must have missed my point about Pickering last week.Whilst i said i agree speedway is a numbers game pretty much now, sometimes you just have to take a rider that is going to entertain you every week rather than look at his average. And in Pickering we have an entertainer.I said to my mate if he ends up with a 9pt average this season we have to have him next season. The guy is pure entertainment so far. I would have taken Pickering over Ellis every day of the week incidentally for the entertainment, plus Sheffield would have had nearly an extra .7 to play with for team building purposes.
  16. Josh Pickering to me is everything you want see from a rider.Balls of steel,a never say die attitude, and a great showman who loves to get the crowd involve.Like i said last week thanks Sheffield. What i now don't understand though is,the Lynn track has had plenty of criticism over the years about the lack of racing. But how come one rider can make it look a great track. So is it the lack of riders now that are willing to give it a go rather than the track being poor.
  17. Maybe he had concerns about being paid for a large chunk of the season as opposed to a couple of matches.Would expect he would get paid pretty quickly for guesting or he wouldn't bother to guest again.
  18. It'll be alright. Should be a home win now,but you just never know, especially where Lynn are concerned. Managed to get a shift swap from Thursday evenings to Wednesday evenings permanently now.You watch next season we will revert back to a Wednesday night, that's just my luck with supporting the Stars.
  19. Why's that?Surely be re-arranged.Monday looks good weather wise at Lynn so hopefully that one will get done.
  20. Well we dug out a win there.Strength in depth pulled us through there, even with a few riders not at their best. But the last 5 races really bought the meeting alive.Ht 15 was awesome. When Ostergaard gated and Harris was at the back i thought it was game over for the Stars. Then Harris got into 3rd you thought a 1-5 was on the cards, but Pickering's absolutely astonishing ride got the crowd to their feet(i know most of them are anyway)and then NKI followed through for a 5-1.It was crazy i lost Pickering he went that wide and low i couldn't see him on bend 2.As an old friend said he hasn't seen that since the Henka days. My thanks goes to Sheffield for releasing Pickering because the numbers didn't fit.I know speedway is a numbers game, but it is also an entertainment game and boy does Pickering fit the entertainment game side.I would take him every day of the week with his entertainment, enthusiasm and his willingness to team ride over the number side of the sport.
  21. I wasn't going to go tonight, but i got the buzz back after Monday. With the highs, lows, controversy and then elation at the end of the meeting it gave me a buzz coming from the stadium with my mates. It does obviously help if you win.The only thing missing was a little dust up between a couple of riders.Managed to get someone to cover my shift at late notice, although i am going in Friday night to re-coup my wage.Friday night ffs.Hope the meeting more than makes up for that
  22. Couldn't agree more.If Belle Vue can do it,then so should the other 5 teams be allowed.Mind you the way it is for Lynn at the moment they may have to do the same. It's the will he won't he ride with KIldemand at the moment.Although he is out for 10 days at least now.
