Come on Promoters please do something right for once and get rid of 'Guest Riders'. If squads are still not on the agenda then please do something to make my favourite sport credible. How about when a team's top rider is absent his rides could be covered by giving the second best rider 2 of his rides with any other 2 riders doing one each. Similarly if the second best rider is missing then 2 of his rides could be taken by the third best rider with any other 2 riders doing one each and so on. A problem may occur I realize if more than one rider is missing but surely something can be worked out to cover such an eventuality other than bringing in a guest rider from another team in the same league.

If this is in riding order then Morley lines up at 5. Is this correct?

The rider who wins the final should get 25 points. The rider who is 2nd in the final should get 20 points. The rider who is 3rd in the final should get 18 points. The rider who is 4th in the final should get 16 points. Both riders who are 3rd in the semi finals should get 14 points. Both riders who are 4th in the semi finals should get 12 points. All other riders should get the points they have scored. I would however allow any rider to keep his points if he has scored more than 12 points in qualifying for the semi finals.

It says on Rye House's site that included in Leicester's team is Wolverhampton Wolf Magnus Karlsson. The first part is correct but I'm not so sure about the second part.

Leicester will be without Lasse Bjerre for this one because he will be contesting a World Under 21 event at Berwick. Do Leicester seek to replace him with a guest rider or will they operate R/R instead? Not many suitable replacements will be available with a similar average. Perhaps the only 2 to be considered are Ricky Wells who has achieved 2 double figure scores this season at Rye House and perhaps Stuart Robson is a possibility or will it be left to the other Lion's riders to share the rides.

As it stands it is looking like Leicester will not make the playoffs. 2 of their 3 wins were against the worst 2 teams in the league who have also been beaten at home by most of the leading teams so they have gained no advantage.

What is the criteria on which the respective teams are selected? It is not based on being a Premier League rider nor is it based on being a certain age because some of the Aussies are a bit more than young. I'm not being critical I'm just curious.

Do we need another rider in at reserve to cover for the injured Alex Edberg or are we going to have to put up with a zero scoring from 6 rides guest again.

But the quality in heats 2 & 8 is not as high as in most of the other heats. True, there are sometimes better riders in at number 4 in heat 14 but mostly it is a heat of lesser quality. I would say though that very often heat 14 is the most entertaining of the evening.

Gemini I agree with you. I agree that it is the lack of local interest matches that is swaying the promotion towards Elite League membership but I think that is quite likely that there will be some sort of league restructuring next year anyway especially if there is to be no Sky money to spend.
