  1. If I remember rightly, both Sheffield and Glasgow were mooted to join that 'pirate league' in 1997. Anyhow back to the thread topic, The League winners go straight to the play off final, there needs to be a better bonus to finishing first then getting first pick of the other teams.
  2. I'm finding that drinking copious amounts of gin is the best way to get through this!
  3. This week from 10/8/74 a colour pic!
  4. Another one ,previewing the 1975 British Final.
  5. No,he has only ridden for Birmingham.Anyhow he needs to dip his toe back in the championship some time ,so good luck to him.
  6. Edinburgh at home arranged for Sunday 20th August at 5pm.
  7. Any idea who the riders are in this picture?
  8. Kyle has a chest infection according to the Kings Lynn/Wolves thread,so there's a fair chance he will be missing tomorrow.
  9. I agree only,Berge isn't with us this season!(I assume you mean Bjerre)
  10. No and two of them (Adam and Zach) ride for Swindon on a Thursday...
  11. Todd Kurtz or Rob Branford must be close to getting the boot,we can't carry both away from home much longer.
  12. Martin Gill was a member of the Tiger Cubs from 1986.He was rather tall and had a 'foot forward' upright style on the bike,he was never a full Tiger but may have filled in on the odd occasion.
  13. When rearranging fixtures you have to bare in mind priority over your doubling uppers if there's a clash 3rd August is Swindon v Leicester (Josh B and Lasse) 17th August is Swindon v Somerset (Josh G who Somerset have priority anyway) Ipswich in the KO cup could well be a Saturday at Ipswich and Sunday/Wednesday at Sheffield.
  14. Jack Smith for Sheffield,David Wallinger for Scunny. Tigers also have Josh Pickering at number 6 as Rob Branford is at Swindon with Rye House.
  15. Mr Machin at Sheffield in the mid 1990s,covered a part of the 3rd turn by way of experiment, after track covers were mooted back then. What they found when they lifted the covers after a few days was that the track had 'sweated' and turned into a sloppy mess.So they had to dig the whole area up and relay it. Back in late 1992 Sheffield tried mixing limestone into the shale to get through a wet spell. It made the track a odd colour but the meetings were staged.
  16. I tried running the web addresses though the Internet Archive Wayback Machine https://archive.org/web/ And it found the following pages https://web.archive.org/web/20060425011734/http://freespace.virgin.net:80/pete.craven/index.htm https://web.archive.org/web/20080106105858/http://www.ove-fundin.com/ https://web.archive.org/web/20020206211001/http://freespace.virgin.net:80/barry.briggo/index.htm https://web.archive.org/web/20070203044814/http://speedwayhistory.proboards67.com:80/ https://web.archive.org/web/20070205133504/http://www.legtrailerart.com:80/ The pages take a little while to load and may not have all the images, but the text seems to be all there.
