Was that re-staged as it was called off? Me and dad were going to watch the meeting, while my brother and mum went onto visit Stonehenge and Avebury. We'd got to Blundson after a wet drive from Bromsgrove where we were staying with family, only to find it was off.So we went on to visit the aforementioned plus we went up Silbury Hill and saw a couple of crop circles that were all the rage that summer!

What time do Aces home meetings normally finish? There is a Sheffield bound train that stops at Belle Vue station at 21.25 (which would save going back to Piccadilly) and I guess its a ten minute walk from the Stadium.

It has just been announced on the Sheffield website that Roman has died at the age of 55.

Championship Team of the Decade

11.72 was his converted figure from 2009,his actual 2010 average was 9.09. -
Does the 2.5% reduction apply to a 3.00 assessed rider in effect making him a 2.92 for team building?

In the speedway star this week Damien refers to there being another heat leader to go alongside Nicki,Josh and Jack...
-
Was 7.30, going back to 7.45 would be better as the dogs don't finish until after 6.
-
Nick Morris would just fit along with those two. With 13 and abit points for three rider, I'd go 7,3,3 and not worry about reserve strength!

Tigers have just tweeted "some big news on the way folks"...

Not a airfence,as there wasn't one in place at the time.It was the WTC round and it rained and instead of stopping the meeting they carried on and Mark crashed due to poor vision.

It's the Stock Cars (Startrax) that are moving more fixtures from Loomer Road to Owlerton.
-
Why not Sheffield Gustrix? The Tigers maybe up for sale/open to investment but Owlerton Stadium is not for sale.A+S Leisure (owners)are in the process of having a massive multi million pound banqueting suite built.

Broc will be at Glasgow with Sheffield.

No,there's still a few left!

Until about a decade ago,the Sheffield track was graded after every heat. The 10/15 minute interval was taken after heat ten and the entire time the tractors went round. Then they came out before heats 13 and 15 and the meeting would be over by 9.10 after starting bang on 7.45. Then for some reason,we got the 'every four heats' grading that we all know and love, meetings started to get dragged out and the track started to become what it is today.

Sheffield v. Newcastle 28.08.19
Andrew replied to Cue Ball's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I left a sunny Sheffield at 11.45 without a coat and arrived 20 minutes later to a massive downpour in Barnsley. Collected my friends kids and returned back to a very damp Sheffield thinking the planned return trip via Owlerton wouldn't happen! And it rained on and off over Southwest Sheffield during the afternoon then hammered it down just before 5 then was dry for the rest of the evening. -
Well that was never going to happen,as soon as he did one more away meeting at the start of the the year he jumped from 2.00 to over 5 due to his high scoring for Ipswich last year.A more cynical Promotion may have replaced him there and then as Drew was always going to find it tough at number 2. Another problem was having Broc stuck on a assessed 4.00 for half the season while he attained a true average. It wasn't till July 1st almost a year to the day that he signed that he got a new one and it was still lower than Drew's who couldn't drop down as Zaine and Josh were also still on assessed 4.00s. The rain off at Redcar stopped Chunk from getting his new average earlier, which would have seen Drew drop down a couple of weeks before he did and maybe if he had found his feet again the change for Broc may have not been made. Regarding Todd in place of Ty,hindsight is a wonderful thing, but the Tigers season may have been slightly different. Then again Kyle's been up and down and Kasper Andersen didn't work out as we hoped and if Broc hadn't been wiped out at Leicester...
