Glasgow V Plymouth Monday 3 August 2015 7.30pm
Paulco replied to SharpenRake's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Risager was awful , expected better from him . Wright wasn't really a surprise . Fisher always rides Ashfield well , and he did again last night , while Holder got better as the night went on . The two reserves were solid enough and Pijper scored pretty much what Newman would have . Plymouth contributed to an entertaining meeting . Speedway in the evening under lights is definitely what is needed at Ashfield -
You honestly couldn't make this up

I enjoyed that last night , especially heat 10 , best race I've seen at the track all season -

There have been some pleasantly surprising results in this year's league . Plymouth 48 Edinburgh 42 , Redcar 47 Edinburgh 43 , Edinburgh 42 Glasgow 48 to name but three , so anything can happen in the wacky world of Premier League speedway -

Plymouth are doing okay this season , on the verges of challenging for the play offs . Been some weird and wonderful results at various stages this season , so we don't take anybody for granted -

I know , but Fisher is still " The Great Satan " in these parts , Lewy , from his time along the M8 -
Just been riding in his native Finland this season , as far as I can see

To be fair , I left Tyretrax in the bar at the track , couple of hours after the abandonment , so the spelling of young Aaron's name is not unexpected -

Fair play to you guys , it's not a forlorn hope that you might even make the play offs . Shame our rescheduled meeting is on a Monday next week as any time the Devil's fans have come to Glasgow they've had a great time . Still congratulations on beating the whingers last night . -
So it's Hynek whatshisface who replaces the French surrender monkey , welcome Hynek , please stay fit

Actually wasn't a bad meeting till the heavy rain intervened . One or two were unhappy when the meeting got stopped , but 5 mins or so after the abandonment it really came down . At the time the call off probably suited both sides , so we move on . But isn't Aaron Summers riding particularly well these days . -

That's standard when the Monarchs lose , wouldn't concern yourselves with that -

I can see it being as close as the telly match earlier in the season down at Peterborough . I'm off to the Horseshoe Bar now , better still be dry when I leave there -

We don't really hammer teams at home . It's a racer's track and most riders take to it . If this does go ahead I don't think there will be anymore than about 6 or 8 points in it . -

The rain is forecast and once it arrives it will be on for the duration . I've heard it's currently raining on the west coast , so it's a case of praying it takes it's time getting to Glasgow -

I was at Ascot horse racing yesterday , so not online to start a thread . Just got home an hour ago and so far it's a bright sunny morning in Glasgow . Fingers crossed Mrs Rain God is doing her knitting till about 6 o clock -

Somerset Vs Glasgow 17/07/15 Premier League

Enjoyed myself despite our capitulation . Thought we could sneak a point after heat 7 , but then it went pear shaped . Still I've never let a thrashing at the Oak Tree Arena spoil my night in the past and I still had a great time on Friday . I really enjoy going to watch speedway there . -
Was a great night for us , first time I've saw us win at Rye . It all went wrong for the home team right from the start when Aspregen fell when Rye had gated on a 5-1 . Though the heat 2 exclusion evened that up . I kind of agree with the ref on that one , Roynon did pull a big locker , but I've seen races allowed to continue in those circumstances . Doesn't say much for the Rye reserves when Roynon still finished ahead of them . After that it was pretty much plain sailing with Lawson and Summers leading from the front . Track looked good and wasn't too dusty and it's still a cosy wee stadium . I saw Rye win impressively at Scunthorpe earlier in the season and I'm sure they'll come out of this slump , but the reserve situation needs looked at .

Glasgow V Berwick Sunday 19th
Paulco replied to allthegearbutnaeidea's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Not the best meeting you'll ever see , but the result was the most important thing . Nice to see Josh back in the stripes , once you've had the privilege to don the stripes in your career , you're always a Tiger - unless you're French or Kevin Wolbert of course . Lawson and Summers are in a rich vein of form at the moment , which is just as well , and are a joy to watch . Wee Sarjeant is finding things tougher now he's in the main body of the team , but I'm confident he'll complete the transition . Berwick were poor , they are going through a rocky patch just now , but their new rider looks as he could be a good signing for them . He took most of the afternoon to figure out how to get round the second bend , but once he had conquered that , he looked impressive winning his final race .
