  1. The letter highlighted the season ticket deal , the crossover one , which Edinburgh brought to a premature end saying only two Glasgow fans made use of it . Then they object to us running on a Friday night because it could affect their attendances . Doesn't really add up . Anyway onto last night , ref seemed to be on a mission to burn as many clutches out as he could last night with the length of time he was holding riders at the tapes , no wonder one or two riders ending up going through them . The endless witch hunt of young James and his starting prowess shows no sign of abating either . Monarchs fans round us screaming in protest every time the tapes went up when James was in a race . Sweet moment when he made a perfect start against the blessed Cookie in heat 11 , the blue and yellow mob had just finished their howls of protest when the blessed one came down trying all he could to get past James . Hope both injured riders , who's meeting came to a premature end , are not too badly hurt and that tonight's meeting is a powderkeg classic . We need every one of our fantastic Tigers side to be at the top of their game tonight and hopefully Smiley Sam is still riding the lawn mower he used last night and his good bikes are en route to Oz , that helps . Was a long drawn out affair last night , mainly due to the ref causing all the reruns , but there is now draught beer in the bar which made all the delays bearable haha C'mon the Stripes tonight , let's make tonight a smug free celebration
  2. Nearly time to head for the Horseshoe Bar I'm texting the updates later , so ..............75-15 to Glasgow
  3. It comes down to us against them , good versus the darkside . Yes they'll come across the M8 , playing bridge in the supporters limo , but they shall leave shellshocked . Captain Marvel and our rider of the season by a mile , Aaron Summers , will lead the charge . Ably supported by Son of God and young Nick . Then there's James giving an Ivan Mauger gating masterclass and Victor and Hynek chipping in as well . For the forces of darkness , Craig Cook's mechanic will forget the nitro , Smiling Sam will potter around smiling and thinking of Monster Girls and Kev the Kraut will still be affected by his injury and think he's not supposed to try very hard because he's at Ashfield . So a decent lead will be taken over to the Scotwaste Arena ( oops sorry Eddie ) and then the Buckfast will flow on the conclusion of heat 15
  4. I cannae wait till Sunday now Rasmus Jensen doesn't do Glasgow on a Sunday , so they have Jonas B Andersen as a guest at reserve .
  5. The tie is very much alive . We might have lost to Somerset in the league match at Glasgow , but we were well ahead at one stage and Nick Morris' fall when leading seem to change the course of the meeting that day . Obviously they are stronger with Andersen at reserve , but you just never know . I'll keep believing
  6. Good luck to the Tigers , whatever happens tonight it's been a great season
  7. I don't think he's entirely in love with our track , had a few too many silly falls . And that bad elbow gash he got in the Summer seemed to set him back on his return
  8. Yes I know that , what happened to a facility for FIM meetings only ? I know any promotion has to do the best for their team , but it's just annoying when youre on the receiving end . Andersen could easily score double figures on Sunday , which just makes a difficult task even more difficult . Or maybe we could get him to have a wee word with Kenneth Hansen haha
  9. The impressive Jonas B Andersen at reserve for the Rebels !!!!!!! seriously ?
  10. We were 21 - 21 after heat 7 in the league meeting down there , before it all went wrong . We have Nick Morris , who we didn't have that night , so hopefully that makes a difference . Hope we can stay in touch to make Sunday interesting
  11. Edinburgh 42 Glasgow 48 , what a night that was . I had no voice for a day after that .
  12. They all have to , but yes Lawson is very up and down away from home . Hopefully he performs better than he did at the Pairs and in the League meeting there in July .
  13. Edinburgh have one steel shoe in the final , and we have the daunting prospect of Somerset at the weekend . But the dream of an all Scottish title decider is still alive .
  14. It was only for riders finishing third behind a team mate who had finished second , except if the team mate was on a t/r , that the bonus point got stopped . A pretty dangerous move which I think has been mostly ignored by clubs .
  15. Don't tell me we've resorted to Einstein to try and fix speedway's woes
  16. One of the pub regulars dropped a pound coin in the car park and the stampede from the fourth bend caused total chaos .
  17. Was murder getting a taxi to the track because of that stupid run
  18. Sadly I don't have any holidays left , so I wont be joining you . I just hope we can keep it close enough down there to make it interesting next Sunday
  19. Safe trip home Lewy , good to see you and Pirate Nick there today . We did a professional job of that today , our three big hitters were outstanding . Glad to see Kauko walk away from his crash , I was another who thought his collar bone was gone again . Plymouth were up against it from the start , though Risager , Newman and Eklof all made a good fight of things . Was disappointed in Jack Holder , he is better than that , and the Devil's guest at number 1 was dreadfully bad . Be much more difficult next weekend I should imagine , but I'm really looking forward to it .
  20. Last night's result gives us a wonderful opportunity to progress . We cant take Plymouth for granted , they're a solid looking side , but we must be favourites now to reach the semi finals .
  21. After last week's League Cup final , Monarchlad complained I never gave Edinburgh credit for winning the trophy . So I've learned from my mistake Monarchlad and with true forum etiquette ................ WELL DONE SOMERSET
  22. Maybe because the destination of the cup was pretty much decided after the first leg , but that was the best atmosphere at a Tigers v Monarchs meeting I've enjoyed for a long time .
