  1. You canny beat getting battered over the head by the rule book
  2. That's nonsense even for you . Everyone knew Kurtz could be better than a 5 pointer , Somerset were taking the piss trying for a 3 . And yesterday Kurtz looked a very decent PL heatleader . The only reason Palovaara is a 7 is because he's Swedish . We know from experience there's a lot of dross in Scandanavian speedway and his points scoring over there is taken with a pinch of salt . So for Viktor to beat Kurtz yesterday was a feather in his cap , and who knows it might be the starting point for him
  3. As a speedway fan can you not put who wins or loses , or how they get there , to one side and just enjoy the racing ? My team lost by ten points today , but i had a pint in the bar afterwards quite happy my team tried their best and just lost to a better team on the day . The racing was terrific . There;s a danger we get too wrapped up in the politics of the sport and forget why we go in the first place
  4. Despite us losing , i thoroughly enjoyed the racing today . Good luck to the Rebels when it comes to the nitty gritty stuff against The Smugs in the play offs
  5. Olly Allen was superb pet , Lunchy was looking for you . but i didn't see you in your usual bit
  6. Anyway , i thought the racing today was top drawer stuff . Nick Morris especially , how he won heat 11 was unbelievable . We never expected to win today because unlike a place like Overtaking Nirvana , we just knew Brady Kurtz would like Ashfield . And so it proved , Brady showed what he was all about . We tried our best , but on the day we were just beaten by a better side , but some of the racing was terrific and as a speedway fan that is what i want .
  7. It's nothing really to do with Benji Compton , everyone knows he wont score much more than the other Fast Track sacrificial lambs Poole have used so far . It's the belief that Poole have pulled some sort of stroke that has got the usual suspects jumping up and down . Yes Poole have , on occasion , bent the rules a bit . But one misdemeanor involving the lesser Compton should really register much on the injustice seismic level .
  8. Some Aussies in the Charlie Monk stand today , good stuff
  9. Good stuff . Hacks take 5 , so it will be just me , Wullie and Andy .
  10. If you do you can share our taxi up to the track around 2ish
  11. Anders back to riding last year's lawn mower today i fear . Kevin Wolbert's record against the better PL sides this season is nothing short of woeful , today is the day he really needs to step up to the plate and deliver .
  12. That's the situation that happened at Berwick last night and will happen at Glasgow today . This nonsense has to stop , people want to see their riders riding for their team from one week to the next . Yes injuries happen and there's not a lot that can be done about that . But to turn up and support your team and discover one or two of your riders is away riding in a daft long track meeting in some god forsaken part of Europe is completely unacceptable and cant be allowed to continue
  13. could go either way mate . Not raining at the moment and it hasn't since i got up at 8 . But there are threatening clouds around and we are forecast showers
  14. let's hope the track isn't too wet then . Real backs to the wall stuff today against title challengers
  15. It does though . I paid £16 to get into Kings Lynn v Leicester the other week and paid £16 to get into Ipswich v Glasgow the following evening .
  16. Oh dear , nasty rumours about Glasgow sweeping the Dump on a Friday . The concern is touching , but with Alan Dick still heavily involved with the club , that wont happen . I think this is more the lad's frustration with the financial outlay when riders go through a spate of blown engines . He's not the first speedway rider that's happened to and wont be the last .
  17. Trouble is , speedway tries these things with the best intentions , but invariably makes a pigs ear of it . We had a similar thing in the PL in 2006 where reserves were graded A , B and C and were supposed to be at reserve all season . Halfway through the season the governing body decided Steve Boxall and Jon Armstrong , might have been one or two more , were now too good to be at reserve so the thing was thrown into turmoil .
  18. So it now really boils down to who's luckiest with the rain
  19. People are sick of it . You cant expect neutrals to be enticed by half a team turning up , i read on another thread that Berwick could be without Vissing and Kus at Overtaking Nirvana next Friday night . We have the same nonsense against Somerset on Sunday with Pijper and Berge missing . Okay Berge has now since broke his wrist , but he would have been at some long track nonsense instead of riding for his team . There's too much of this crap now filtered it's way into the PL schedule , between that and doubling uppers not knowing exactly who they're supposed to be riding for - is it any wonder crowds are dwindling at an alarming rate .
  20. You can't say that about Overtaking Nirvana , it's sacrilege
  21. I'm pretty sure Dimitri has now done enough meetings to qualify as a Glasgow asset regardless of whatever the Dark Lord or any potential vultures might think . And time will prove young Dimitri will become France's best ever speedway rider
  22. every track has the potential to be a gaters track , even that overtaking nirvana in West Lothian they were probably too embarrassed to complain
