  1. Yes i'm afraid so haha . I remember standing on the 3rd bend last time , when we had amassed the grand total of 12 points after heat 8 , and thinking " why do i come here and put myself through this lol " , it's been a long time since the heady days of 2011 when we came here and battered them twice during the month of August . Since then it's been the same sorry tale of pumping after pumping on Britain's top technical track . But i'll drag myself along more in hope rather than expectation .
  2. A Friday night at Overtaking Nirvana , seems ages since i was last there
  3. Now that's been cleared up , the play-offs are clearly a good idea and are here to stay .
  4. We wont have Jason Bunyan's assistance , so you should . That's quite an entertaining looking double header though
  5. It's a double header , therefore you were quite correct starting the thread with both meetings surely . You cant just pay to get in for the 2nd fixture in a double header , so a twinned heading is surely correct
  6. A financially essential gimmick , plus the entertainment and suspense it gives the fans . It's the high point of the season in many , many sports .
  7. A more structured pricing , £16 to get into say Glasgow v Sheffield and £16 to get into Kings Lynn v Leicester is wrong . Riders more commited to their clubs or don't bother . Going along to see your team and either them or the opposition have riders away in the Danish /Swedish / Czech leagues or riding some mickey mouse long track/grasstrack meeting has to stop . Tracks prepared fairly and consistant , none of this home advantage nonsense . And only overnight rain showers permitted between March and October But the play-offs have to stay .
  8. Bright and dry morning so far , unusual for a Sunday i know , but we'll take it pfft
  9. When we were there , they played Flower of Scotland
  10. Who was the referee , least it wasn't Jim or Willie as they were both at Workington
  11. Had a go at Wolbert too . Says it as it is does our Stewart
  12. Speedway is a sport full of quirky surprises . Poole bend the rules , the Edinburgh promoters smile , Darcy rolls up sober , but nothing prepares you for .............................................Desperate Deek guests for Glasgow . That's like the Pope belting out the Sash in the Louden Tavern The sport never fails to shock the average punter , how will we cope ? Anyway , as a sideshow to the main event ( Deek in a Tigers bib ) , we have the Diamonds to take care of . We should be full of ourselves after last nights earthshattering away thrashing of Workington ( still pinching myself ) , so we're full of confidence for this next test . The new greatest Tiger ever ( Rusty Harrison ) will lead the attack . Backed up with whatever Kevin Wolbert turns up and Theo Pijper , we should have too much firepower for the Geordies . Victor's back after we sent him home to Sweden so we could use r/r at Workington and Tero Aarnio makes his home debut ( round about heat 9 probably ) . Add to that our ever entertaining Danish reserve Kasper and .....................erm ..........Deek . Geordies will be well served by the likes of Stuart Robson and Danny King , so should be a decent meeting . Team are - Awayday specialists 1 Victor Palovaara 2 Theo Pijper 3 Kevin Wolbert or Kevin Wolbert 4 Tero Aarnio 5 King Rusty 6 Kasper Lykke 7 Our guest Newcastle 1 Danny King 2 Lewis Rose 3 Stuart Robson 4 Lewis Kerr 5 Ludvig Lindgren 6 Simon Nielsen 7 Chris Mills
  13. Blobby for gawds sake change the record . You have no idea what wages Glasgow are or aren't paying , you're just listening to the usual rubbish that gets passed round Overtaking Nirvana every Friday night . Speedway rumours are very seldom true
  14. There's not enough smug dust to go round , it's all at the other end of the M8 in Overtaking Nirvana
  15. I was only narked at his non-performance at Berwick , i agreed about how good he was round Ashfield . Last night he was truely awesome though
  16. Just home and still pinching myself . After an opening 5-1 to Workington , i thought here we go again , but after that it was a magical Glasgow performance . Never since Shane Parker in his pomp have we seen such dominant away display from a Glasgow rider until Rusty Harrison tonight , some of his blasts round the outside of the track had to be seen to be believed . Such a shame Rene Bach spoiled the 18 point max in heat 15 . Not a one man band however , this was a superb team effort . In saying that , the Workington track was superbly prepared , like a billiard table with just the right amount of dirt . Yes , the Comets fans will be disappointed at the result , but they have a track that gives up superb racing like we got tonight . Workington look like a team bereft of confidence , they are much better than we saw tonight . I hope they can get it together again . Joe Jacobs looks a decent addition however , how Peterborough think a dud German is a better option than him is beyond me .
  17. Stood on the 2nd bend at Derwent Park . I have died and gone to heaven
  18. Weather looks promising , so i took a half day and will make the trip . C'mon the stripes
  19. Is nobody bothered ? I'm assuming ex-Comet , Tero Aarnio will be making his Tigers debut in this meeting . If the weather is ok , i'll probably pop down .
  20. The Dark Lord maybe not , but the other Chuckle Brother has been known to dabble in the forum .
  21. Those rules have been relaxed then , since Fox came in on a 5 . Only the Aussies that have problems these days
  22. Why do you keep having a pop at the PL ? Only a couple of folk think it's some sort of speedway utopia , the rest of us are well aware it's on life support .
  23. True , there's even less folk go to speedway now than go to church these days
  24. Damn , i was trying to catch a blobby shaped one Was there not some row a few years ago about Chris Kerr and his average ?
