  1. Good luck my beloved Tigers , stay safe guys and try not to get a pumping
  2. I watched him ride Armadale ( or try too ) for Somerset a few years back . His bike looked to be far too powerful for the track as when he got to the bends it was Bambi on ice stuff . Maybe it's just Armadaleitus with him . Plus in his career he's ridden for Berwick , Workington , Somerset and Sheffield - not a small track rider
  3. Ht 2 Ellis Hawkins Jacobs Ringwood (f) Ht 4 Grieves Jacobs Hawkins Risager Ht 8 Heeps Hawkins Jacobs North (f) Ht11 Grieves Barker Heeps Jacobs Ht 12 Tungate Bager Jacobs Ellis Ht 14 Lanham Ringwood Jacobs Ellis I clearly have too much time on my hands this afternoon
  4. Sunday 25th August 2013 Glasgow 36 - Grieves 11 Jacobs 6+3 Bager 6 Lemon (g) 6 North 5+1 Ringwood 2 Thomsen 0 Ipswich 56 - Barker 13 Heeps 10+4 Lanham 10 Tungate 9+1 Ellis 6 Hawkins 5+2 Risager 3 So as you can see , a bit of a slaughter . But that was then , this is now . Tomorrow's forecast is favourable and i think this has all the makings of a very tight , entertaining encounter .
  5. That whisper has being getting louder as the weeks go by . His number 1 performance in last week's KO Cup meeting doesn't count in his average
  6. Interesting column in last week's Glasgow v Rye House programme about Charlie . Apparently some sick joker sent informed the Govan Press newspaper , in the winter of 1966 , that Charlie had been killed in an accident in Australia . Back in those days i suppose it must have caused a lot of stress and worry as there was no internet or owt then . Embarrassingly the newspaper had to print an apology
  7. He was much the same at Glasgow last Sunday . With these riders riding so often in different leagues , are some away meetings just becoming a chore for some riders ?
  8. I think we're all amazed in the improvement in Charles this season , but good luck to the lad
  9. I know , but i thought we had a wee sniff of getting a point tonight with the Rebels ' injury problems . Will i ever learn haha
  10. I've never heard of that before . I'm not disputing it , but i've only heard of referees throwing riders out of the rest of a meeting , not just the one race
  11. Dont think anyone is saying that , far from it actually . As speedway fans we get thrilled by riders fighting their way to the front from the back , that in itself carries certain risks . Despite your ridiculous post , i dont believe for a minute riders go out to fence other riders . Ok you get the odd inappropriate rush of blood to the head , but in general there is total respect between the riders
  12. Been a couple of years since we had any Elvis sightings . Hope nothing's happened to him

  13. Who would you rather pay money to go and watch Nicki Pedersen and Darcy Ward or Greg Hancock and Jarek Hampel . Speedway always has loved to revel and heap derision on it's so called bad guys in equal measures . We need the bad guys to put bums on seats . Was Glasgow v Edinburgh a tastier contest when it was Parker v Fisher , you bet it was .
  14. So after the hilarity of England's World Cup exit , we can get back to the speedway again . And it's a wee toughie this Sunday . The only side to face the smug steamroller and not lose , the Witches of Ippo . Led by the now lesser Worrall and ably backed up by messers Tungate and Risager . How their American will do on our track is anybodies guess , but their lower order of Heeps , Ellis and Hawkins could be troublesome . We will be heartened by last week's performance and have Edinburgh's Aaron Fox as this week's guest reserve ( he's only Samantha when riding for the smugs ) This will be the third meeting in three days for both teams , so i hope these line-ups make it to the tapes . Glasgow 1 Kevin Wolbert 2 Christian Henry 3 Anders Thomsen 4 Theo Pijper 5 Rusty Harrison 6 Kasper Lykke 7 Aaron Fox Ipswich 1 Richie Worrall 2 Cameron Heeps 3 Morten Risager 4 Gino Manzares 5 Rohan Tungate 6 Adam Ellis 7 Richie Hawkins Hard meeting to predict . Ipswich came up here last year and battered us , but we were an embarrassment last year and we have shown some improvement . But the Witches are in form at the minute and this one could go either way
  15. It is a crazy loophole in the rules though , but in saying that he wasn't anything special at Glasgow last Sunday
  16. Love this , almost as smug as " you know who "
  17. Anders Thomsen could be the key to us having any chance of a point , his recent away form has been outstanding
  18. Spot on Shadders . I quoted the two above posts cause there's nothing more annoying than the high and mighty mob who have a go when , god forbid , we complain about the dross we're expected to pay our good money to support . You had it off Somerset , we had it off the Smugs and it aint nice . Watching Glasgow v Rye last Sunday , it looked two very mediocre sides , but some take umbridge when we get fed up .
