Glasgow V Sheffield Ch 1 July 2017 7pmPaulco replied to SharpenRake's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway Rocky Bates' best meeting was guesting for Somerset , the punching part was reserved for his last two visits with his own club . We ran Sheffield close down there a few weeks back , this could be more of the same . Hopefully our three heat leaders have got their Peterborough nightmare out their system , because they'll all need to be firing on Saturday . Could be a cracker of a meeting with hopefully our version of the Tigers coming out on top .

Speedway World Cup 2017Paulco replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup And we have a home match on Saturday against Sheffield , so would much rather Richie was north of the border than dragged into this rubbish .

Peterborough V Glasgow 25/6/17 ChampionshipPaulco replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway Definitely not . On the plus side , the lesser lights did their bit by the looks of it , i'm sure normal service from our top 3 will have resumed against Sheffield on Saturday .

Peterborough V Glasgow 25/6/17 ChampionshipPaulco replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway When none of the three don't score double figures then we're in bother , but it's the first away meeting that we haven't taken at least a point from , so there's no reason to worry . Maybe the credit should go to Peterborough rather than look at our failings today .

Peterborough V Glasgow 25/6/17 ChampionshipPaulco replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway I hope so , we have riders that have gone well round there in the past , should make for an entertaining encounter .

That was the point I was making earlier . We were promised the whole thing was to be ripped up and started again . No sign of that happening 18 months into Chapman's reign .

Peterborough V Glasgow 25/6/17 ChampionshipPaulco replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway We're not all like that . I've no idea why some on here have issues with Peterborough , i'm just sorry I can't be there today as I love the track and the stadium .

Glasgow V Ipswich Ch - Saturday 24 June 7pmPaulco replied to SharpenRake's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway He just didn't seem interested last night , apart from heat 14 where he gated , then got passed by both Glasgow riders , then at least had a go to regain second which he managed to do ....just . But his first three races he was ordinary .

Wish we had more than 5 these days ...............come to think of it , wish we had 1 That was my earliest memory of speedway , Bo and George Hunter demolishing the starting gate at the White City .

Glasgow V Ipswich Ch - Saturday 24 June 7pmPaulco replied to SharpenRake's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway Was so nice to be in a speedway stadium full to the brim with supporters last night . I took my eldest daughter , son in law and kids last night , and she hadn't been to speedway since I would take her to Shawfield as a teenager . I could tell she loved it again , so I hope this has rekindled her interest . I was like a sardine texting to the updates site as the Charlie Monk stand was packed , the stand filled up early , and the 4th bend covered terrace looked even busier than what it usually is when the Monarchs come calling . The owners are doing their best to try and promote the club and the sport , and last night's crowd must have been close to 2000 . Yes we know that was down to the new supporters scheme , but as a family night out for anybody new to the sport , it was a great success .

When the new BSPA chairman took over , he promised to make the rule book less ambiguous and make the sport simple again . 18 months later here we are arguing over yet another grey area that nobody noticed at the time . Presumably Sheffield would have had to have declared their team a few days in advance , so does nobody at the sport's headquarters look at these things when they come in ?

Glasgow V Ipswich Ch - Saturday 24 June 7pmPaulco replied to SharpenRake's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway We said exactly the same thing at the time . Not the worst meeting , but not a classic . Just as well we got off to a flying start , cause Ipswich got better as the meeting went on . King looked good after a sluggish start , Heeps and Schlein backed him up well . Lawson and Worrall easily best for us , while Summers disappointed after a bright start . Easily biggest crowd of the season with all the freebies , was a bit crushed in the Charlie Monk stand .

That doesn't look like the same Jimmy Gallacher that rode at Coatbridge. He had let his hair grow by the time the Tigers moved to Cliftonhill . Just googled him , his career spanned from 69 till 77
