  1. Was all a myth perpetrated by the forces of darkness
  2. Seriously ?????? i'd love to watch every week what I watched at Somerset 2 weeks ago . Either a wind up , or a very bitter man with an axe to grind . A very daft post
  3. Yeah kind of spoiled our fun him abdicating
  4. Exactly , why cant we ever have clear cut rules and transparency to cover for every eventuality ? There's always this making it up as we go along scenario .
  5. Josh Auty must hate Glasgow , because he looks a real quality heat leader every time we arrive at the Eddie Wright raceway .
  6. At Glasgow last year he became a huge crowd favourite . Huge personality and had some decent meetings too . Top scored for Leicester at Rye House recently , so seems to have improved this season
  7. Saw Richie ride for Somerset at the dump , erm definite Armadaleitus there
  8. Ayres would be a good shout , riding well this year
  9. Not unusual though , last season Ben Barker rode his final Glasgow meeting after being told he was being replaced
  10. Yeah one of those silly individual fixture fillers , hopefully it's team only fixtures now until the end of the season .
  11. Bit of frustration there , Andersen was very poor , on a track he usually rides quite well , before finally winning a race once the meeting was over a contest .
  12. Blimey they usually have no problems in that department , apart from the one time Midnight Lady asked me if I could do it at an Edinburgh v Glasgow meeting at Armadale a few years back , and the Chatzone nearly exploded lol . I didn't have to do it in the end up
  13. Yeah I realise that , in all likelihood he was genuinely ill .
  14. No doubt there will be the (ahem , cough ) unbiased version of events on the Monarchs Chatzone
  15. Sad , but life goes on , he surely cant use that as an excuse
  16. Andersen is a typical Dane , they all learned from Nicki i think . Andersen also has history in that department , saw him and Baby Bjerre flicking the back wheel at each other at Peterborough last season , that resulted in a square go that day . He often flatters to deceive , first couple of times i seen him ride i thought he would turn out to be quite useful , but he seems to have plateaued as a six and a half point rider , certainly he showed not a lot last night till his final ride .
  17. Poor Graversen . I was at Somerset a couple of years ago when Leigh Lanham collected the rider of the night award in the bar after a paid max against Glasgow - sacked a couple of weeks later . Guess who won it when I was at Somerset last Friday ?
  18. Yep that's two meetings that his contribution has won now. Ok I know both replaced riders are injured , but it's only a matter of time before 2 pointers get pulled out of meetings for dandruff , or a broken flask and get replaced by Shanes . Riding in the top league , will his average improve any ?
  19. Keeps the pot boiling , canny beat a bit of healthy needle especially with our two clubs up near the top .
  20. The meeting was saved as a spectacle by that bit of needle as it was a pretty humdrum affair up to then . Our heat leaders were their usual reliable self , and Tom rode well and Dan was a bit unluckly mechanically . Jack continues to struggle , but he's work in progress so there's no issue there . Redcar really only had Barker and Garrity until Andersen upset Richard and they swopped recipes on the back straight . Heat 15 was the best race of the night by far
  21. Oh well , is it or isn't it ? Still a bit on the wet side in Paisley , but as there's nothing definitive coming from the track , suppose I better just trust it's on .
  22. Shane Parker was a wonderful ambassador for Glasgow speedway on and off the track . Took his bike into various schools , spoke to the kids , gave away tickets etc . Always approachable at the track , the ultimate professional
  23. Yes it's infuriating when that happens against you , but you cant award a race after two bends . Ricky becoming acquainted with the dark arts since moving from Worky to the forces of darkness . A word for young Jack Smith , he's struggled to find his feet at Championship level , but his third place when beating Pickering turned out to be crucial . I have learned many moons ago not to be optimistic when following my team to Armadale , so any result there is welcomed with open arms . How do you address it ? Only the rider himself knows if he's at it , he can easily claim he couldn't move the bike or his foot was stuck etc
  24. You forgot to mention Wells staying down to get the race stopped in heat 13 when we gated on a 5-1 , and as usual when these things happen , it becomes a 3-3 in the rerun , so that negates some of the points Edinburgh lost . But it was an enthralling encounter , with great performances on both sides . Big crowd on a chilly night , but both sets of fans seemed relatively happy in the bar afterwards . A pleasant beer was enjoyed in the company of Davy H and Alan from the Emmerdales . A better result for us rather than them , but I can't see either of our two clubs not being involved in the end of season play offs
