  1. Very true , as long as your own supporters are happy it doesn't matter what the rest of us think .
  2. Dunno about that so much , don't see too many bad sides out there . Yes you have the Armadale factor . but away points will be hard to come by
  3. Like Jerzy Szackiel before him , right place at the right time
  4. Are you two gentleman trying to do me , Gaz and George M out of a job on here ?
  5. Didn't hang around long enough to be worshipped by us Tigers fans . Did a couple of away meetings for Coatbridge Tigers in 1973 , then was offski
  6. That was always going to happen for 2016 , how long we put up with it remains to be seen .
  7. Aye time you came back , bring the wean
  8. Why is it when an individual does a dangerous job and he goes to work for somebody paying more money than somebody else , for doing the same job , he is a mercenary ? Surely it's any remotely intelligent person's duty to get the best deal for their skills as they possibly can ?
  9. People are just worried because , like show jumping , speedway finds itself out in the sporting margins . We all just want the sport to be successful and strong , but it's a long way from being that
  10. So if what you say turns out to be the case , then Ryan McDonald could be the most likely option
  11. Happy new year fellow Tiggers , hope we are all well and now the countdown to the new season begins . Looking forward to the fixtures coming out so I can plan my wee trips down south and cheer my boss up with my holiday requests haha . Festive season over , thoughts now turn to planning for the forthcoming season
  12. Yes he did , both him and James Cockle were graded B reserves . Robert benefitted from the assistance of Shane Parker more than Cockle was able to . Was all downhill for Robert after that season
  13. The BSPA are incapable of taking proper control of anything . In 2006 when we had the A , B and C graded reserves they changed the goalposts halfway through the season when they decided Steve Boxall and Jon Armstrong were scoring too heavily from that position . But you're quite correct , a proper defined pay rate should have been set .
  14. Too much is made of that kind of thing on here . What a club pays a rider or refuses to pay to get a rider should only concern the club and the rider . Three pointers shouldn't come into that category though , ok they should be paid fairly , but they should be biting the hand off promoters to get the chance to ride PL speedway . I find it hard to believe anyone in that position would have the balls to try and hold a club to ransom . Which makes me think whatever red tape needs to be overcome to bring Mitchell Davey into the three pointer equation is currently the reason of the hold up . What I do find strange is that Edinburgh will start with a septet over a point under the points limit .
  15. I can understand the cost aspect of putting young people off , but it doesn't seem to be as big an issue in other sports . When I go to watch ice hockey at Braehead it costs me £18 , if I take a child it costs £14 for the child . So not really much of a diffence in price . The Braehead Clan matches are regularly sold out , with as many kids there as adults . So get the product right ,as they do in ice hockey, and the people will go . If we had tracks prepared fairly and properly , then speedway could still be the most enthralling sporting spectacle out there .
  16. Might not be to everybodies liking , but when promoting a meeting , speedway needs to concentrate on the controversial side . In 2011 I went to a meeting in Poland , Gniezno v Bydgoszcz . The home side had Scott Nicholls in their side and the away team had Emil Sayfutinov in theirs . All over the town of Gneizno on the lead up to the meeting , plastered on every available wall or lamppost , was posters with a picture of their Cardiff difference of opinion the year before . We need to big up any kind of potential controversy
  17. Is the term " shutting the door on " now classed as a dangerous move ?
  18. Would never have classed him as dangerous , but I remember Tom Owen being kicked out of a meeting at Paisley in the mid seventies . Went to a Stoke v Glasgow meeting about 7 or 8 years ago . Claus Vissing's first year in British speedway and he got excluded about three times that night , twice putting David McAllan in the fence . I remember Jesper Olsen's first season as a Glasgow Tiger at Shawfield , he stopped the first aiders getting bored
  19. If it's true about Klindt , then I'm surprised Rye got in touch with Etheridge . Surely the way Victor Palovaara rode at Rye House , when Glasgow won there last July , makes him a better option as a 5 pointer than an untried Etheridge would have been .
  20. There was a football manager in Scotland ( St Mirren's) who claimed he knew better than the club's fans as they didn't have a clue . He was sacked a fortnight after making those comments . We can only hope karma visits Mr Cook at some point .
  21. Exactly , and there's the various average reductions . There's Max's for stepping out of the NL , Sam's for trying to punch the Evil Dane , Kevin's for actually trying last season , Ryan's for being a dick and Erik's for having a speedway rider for a dad
  22. True , there's loads of riders still available
  23. My post never printed , is there sinister forces at work ?
  24. Tyson Fury should have won it for upsetting all the bleeding hearts
