  1. Too be fair the track was ok today , was only really the less experienced riders that had trouble with it most of the time . After two disappointing away meetings , Summers was back to his best today . Lawson and Worrall were able back ups and Bach made a steady debut . Coty once again was in the wars , but had a couple of decent rides and Danny was a bit off today , but that has to be expected at times . Berwick are a workmanlike side , not spectacular but steady and pushed us hard . Sad to see such a popular rider like Matthew Wethers so far off the pace though . So that's us like an Elite team now , no meetings for a couple of weeks . A wee rest before the Monarch bashing begins
  2. Done that at Peterborough on Friday night too , great touch that . Though for some reason Cook made a beeline for us , great fun though , more tracks should do that type of thing
  3. Good to hear last night that there's a bus coming up from Berwick today . Hope you all enjoy your day , but not too much haha
  4. Why are meetings ruined by these decisions . I was at Peterborough on Friday and the Panthers had two guests and we had one because our regular riders were riding in Denmark . This kind of thing is the norm now , so either everyone gets a guest facility or nobody does , not some do , some don't
  5. I can understand why , must be the most expensive pint in the league . And funnily enough , before getting the train home yesterday we found a pub ( Wortley Almhouses ) and got two pints for less than we paid for one at the track .
  6. Glad I got off the train from Peterborough to witness the Monarchs get a right royal pumping . Berwick were certainly up for it and never had a failure , whereas the fading title holders had two riders scoring duck eggs . Young Bewley is a trier though , might look about 12 , but he never gives up in a race .
  7. I was disappointed after we made such a good start to the meeting , but some of the races towards the end were top drawer , especially Cook's move in heat 13 . We had a good time though , on the first bend , even if it was £4-40 a pint
  8. Home from my wee tour , was a blast on Thursday night , thanks to everyone who made us welcome . I love going to Ipswich , never saw us lose there
  9. We get it , track preparing is hard . All people are commenting on is that Sunday's track wasn't the best by a long way . The sight of our captain out on the 3rd bend directing the grading procedure was a clue something was amiss . Stewart does a decent job in that department , hopefully Sunday was a one off and on Sunday we get a track like the one we got for the Newcastle meeting .
  10. If you cant understand the announcer , you've no chance with us haha . But I will do if you tell me where on the back straight
  11. We've seen it on numerous occasions at Glasgow , all the supposed great results in Australia and they cant cut it in the Premier League when they get here . Sometimes you just have to come to the conclusion that it just ain't happening . For every Darcy Ward and Chris Holder debuting in our Premier League , there are twice the amounts of Jayden O'Malleys , Michael Penfolds and Jye Etheridges
  12. Aye it's a bit early in the week to worry about that . Four days before our meeting at Newcastle last Monday , the BBC had rain forecast all day for the Newcastle area , and two days later that had totally changed . Wouldn't mind a wee bit in the morning , then clearing up by the time my train gets to Peterborough from Ipswich at lunchtime .
  13. I really hope we are not going down the road of preparing a track simply to unsettle the opposition , rather than prepare a fair track to give the crowd value for money . Last week against Newcastle was a joy to behold , this week not so much , though the racing improved after the numerous gradings . We had a deep track when Peterborough were up , obviously cause Danes like it slick , and we had a very iffy looking track for the Sheffield league cup semi final last season . We have one of the better looking sides in the division , lets not concern ourselves too much with the opposition , give the lads wearing the stripes and the crowd turning out to support them , a track that suits everybody . Riders can attack it with confidence and fans get their money's worth .
  14. One of my favourite places to watch speedway and no Motor Cycle News nonsense to mess with my enjoyment this season . Think this will be a tight contest and I hope my beloved Tigers can come away with a win . But a warm night with cold beer and exciting speedway will do just fine .
  15. No rain this season please . Had a very nice curry last May in Ipswich , but I want to see the speedway this time . Ben looked much quicker , on Sunday , than he has done all season . So that makes a fixture marked as a potential away win an awful lot more difficult . Because you can be sure Ben will be bursting a gut on Thursday . Still it should be a cracker of a meeting and I'm looking forward to it .
  16. Delighted with that draw . Weekend fixtures means no issues getting time off work
  17. We are very happy to have Richie Worrall in our side at Glasgow , so no , we don't find him boring at all
  18. Not the classic of a week earlier , but a comfortable home win in the sunshine . Beer and speedway in the sunshine and a Tigers win , what more can you ask for ?
  19. Hopefully it's better on Thursday , I have selective hearing according to the missus
  20. Beautiful morning , going to have to be factor 30 in the Charlie Monk stand today , plus record beer sales . And it should be an entertaining 15 heats of speedway as well , what more could you want on a Sunday ?
  21. Sad but true . It looked like a masterstroke signing Ben on his current average , but it just hasn't worked out . As you say , Somerset was shocking and his first ride on Monday night was even worse . So welcome Rene and onwards and upwards
  22. Glad you enjoyed your visit , if speedway was always like this meeting there would be no falling attendances But regarding the heat 15 question . If memory serves me , and Pogo could help me here , when I was down at Plymouth in 2011 and Josh Grajczonek got injured , we were going to replace him with Joe Screen had the meeting beaten the curfew and the rerun of heat 15 had been allowed to happen . But despite Glasgow doing nothing wrong by replacing Richie with Aaron , it does seem unfair that there was no penalty for going through the tapes other than Richie being excluded .
  23. Well we had a great time and had the hangover to prove it this morning . God knows what time it was when we left the bar haha . I feared a pumping after the way we started the meeting , but we came back well . The hated black and white helmet won us a point Track looked really tricky though , but Aaron Summers had no issues with it , he was outstanding .
