  1. Makes for exciting speedway though , Barker's pass on Bellego there was breathtaking
  2. Really enjoyed last night's meeting , best I've seen at Berwick in many a season . Aaron trying to shepherd Coty around with Robson all over him was the highlight , it didn't work in the end up , but it was a marvellous effort . Looking forward to returning to Sheilfield in June
  3. After his first race , Bukhave wasn't off the pace and Neilsen has impressed me all weekend . Was an entertaining enough meeting and the pre match predictions of a hammering were well wide of the mark . Worrall is the worst possible missing rider we could have as we're getting nothing much from his rides . We're not far away from clicking though , the signs are definitely positive
  4. Was very slick . We got out of jail a bit today , got a helping hand by some eccentric team management from the Berwick camp . The falls were mainly riders sliding off at the back apart from the Worrall / Wethers incident which was Richie's fault , thank heavens for airfences though . He gambled trying to kill off Glasgow by heat 14 , a gamble that backfired
  5. yeah , got the flu , been stood down for 7 days
  6. I've no problem with it at all . Jorgensen is injured , so Berwick are entitled to replace their number 1 with a guest . Anyway it makes it more interesting . Don't think there's much between Fisher and Tommy the tape toucher round Ashfield , so it makes Berwick neither stronger or weaker .
  7. You get crackers , you get rubbish ones . Same as you get Liverpool v Dortmund on Thursday and Hibs v Dundee Utd or West Brom v Watford yesterday . Any sport is like that . I'd still rather watch a duff speedway meeting than a shocker at football .
  8. yeah I'm sure Cook missed an Edinburgh meeting in the past as he rode for Belle Vue the same night as an Edinburgh rearranged fixture . It's annoying if it happens , but that is the state speedway is in at the moment .
  9. Cold , but dry . Don't see any problems weatherwise
  10. Apart from Dr Scotsman's diagnosis , the Edinburgh paranoia machine has still to burst into life . Poor Richard isn't the first to succumb to this particular affliction . Armadalious Tricktrackius Virus , or Dump Flu as it's commonly known , has affected riders in the past . A dilapidated stadium surrounding a tight wee technical track is a notorious breeding ground for Dump Flu . A decade or so ago Paul Bentley used turn up at every Tigers meeting at Armadale , much to our irritation , suffering from Dump Flu . And latterly Thomas H Jonasson used to contract it two or three times a month . We wish Richard a speedy recovery and wish our stand in , Ricky Wells , all the very best tomorrow night . Wasnt that easy for your lot last week
  11. Aye George , the worry is that most people are expecting us to win . We might look a better side on paper than they do , but it's still Armadale and we've had too many disappointments there to be too confident .
  12. After the Banditos first away win at Edinburgh since .................well forever , it's puts added pressure on the Tigers to win at the home of the group's whipping boys . In all likely hood Smirker will be well nigh unbeatable , so we need to pack in for 3-3's in his races and take advantage of the weaker pairings . A two point victory will do , which will then put the onus back onto Berwick to try and run us close on Sunday . I'm very well mate , ready for my first trip to the fortress of doom , this season , on Friday
  13. We shall see . Early evidence of the 2016 Monarchs side must have alarm bells warming up . Two meetings , two defeats and one or three question marks over the side which started the season about a point and a half under the limit remember . 1 Sam Masters - started the season very impressively and could quite easily be the top man in this league in 2016 . 2 Jye Etheridge - apart from heat 8 at Glasgow last Sunday , though he didn't actually finish that race , he looks an Australian import of the O'Malley / Penfold variety . 3 Wolbert , probably be as erratic as ever point scoring wise . Capable of scoring heavily , but just as capable of not . 4 Riss , not set the heather alight so far , he needs more than most to up his game . 5 Fisher , on the downward spiral . 6 Clegg , see Riss 7 Bewley - horribly out his depth , hope his confidence isn't shattered .
  14. Exactly . Two well matched teams being allowed to do battle on a well and fairly prepared track , there is no better sporting spectacle than speedway . If you ignore the politics of the sport and just appreciate the skill and bravery of the participants , you'll want to keep going back for more .
  15. Yes we did , no he didn't , and he didn't either . Danny has certainly endeared himself to the fans with his celebrations , the sport is sadly lacking characters , so he is a breath of fresh air . There will be tougher battles for him to come though as Edinburgh's bottom end was woefully weak . Always nice to humble them , but the final margin of victory should have been greater , but it's not too much of a disaster when a chain goes when you're 20 points ahead . Masters apart , the Monarchs never brought much to the party .
  16. So much for the sun coming out haha , rowing boat weather more like
  17. Thoroughly enjoyed it , though we deserved to nick it . Grand Monarch lets Serjeant start a race after being beaten by the 2 mins , but excludes both Tigers when it looked to me that the red light came on just as Barker hit the deck . But thankfully it was only a challenge so the result doesn't really matter . But lots of positives to be taken from the meeting . Danny Ayres was positively buzzing in the bar after the meeting , here we have a guy who looks really happy to be given this chance at PL level , he deserves every success .
  18. Horseshoe Bar for 12-30 , taxi to the track at 2 , 15 heats of excitement , then drinkies in the bar till about 7 . Yes my Sunday afternoons are back
  19. one week to go , hope next Sunday's weather is as glorious as today's
  20. Yes he did , though in the same season he never returned for the Premier Trophy semi final , Reading used Frede Schott that day , who had a bit of a disagreement in the pits with Lee Dicken
  21. Zagar didn't do Scotland very often in his PL days , so that's no surprise . Still be a decent meeting though , think i'll pop through
