  3. At Brokstedt last weekend there had been lots of localised flooding through the week leading up to the meeting, on the morning of the meeting the rain had been torrential, the track was under water, but they cleared it and got practice on (about 10.30am instead of 10.15) then after practice there was a lot more rain, but they still got the meeting on and was only delayed by about 15 minutes. There was a lot of water on track but no one associated with the track seemed too concerned. If it was a UK meeting that would have been off, no doubt, but it turned up some decent racing. Sometimes you have to think about the surfaces and size of tracks we have here, and whether the club want to take chances on getting supporters in, it’s a business after all. early call offs have become a necessary evil here due to sometimes not having time to get on the track to get it sorted, it’s something we need to live with, people will still moan but generally they turn out to be correct decisions. iainb needs to think whether if it was HIS money on the line if he would run a meeting when no one is going to turn up due to forecasts
  4. maybe one of the reasons NOT to sign up to the RS list?
  5. wonder if Kenny Bjerre is avilable? what average?
  6. if the meeting had been earlier in the evening (it started at 9) at a 'normal' time i honestly think GB would have won, the track was perfect for them and there was certainly confidence around. and i still have no clue what the cause of a stoppage was other than GB being on a 5-1 in their first heat against the French
  7. Surely just down to demand, getting stuff printed or embroidered that may not sell
  8. Troy is still a top rider in the UK, he has a fight about him, but when confidence is shot it won't end up well. if i was Troy i'd currently be getting the feelers out for the CL, get that fight back
  9. maybe Troy's young family might be holding him back in his head? who knows? affects different people different ways, some see a safer life away from speedway without realising it. something i did mention quite a while ago on here
  10. Dave Mullett, one of those engine room types of rider .. i personally think his style held him back a bit
  11. first problem, they would need to be on a saturday
  12. i know of a call being made to Johnnie Hoskins at Canterbury asking what the weather was like at the track, the reply - meeting on, no rain. the call was made from a phone box across the road to the track in the pouring rain
  13. call offs on the day of the meeting when it's obvious it could have been called sooner is a pain in the backside, arrangements are made, time off work etc, i'd much prefer 24 hours notice
  14. Prague GP is on, maybe they didn't want to go against a GP with it being the first of the season
