  1. I would expect Jacob to be the top five. He should finish with a higher average than Morris & Clegg!
  2. Will the 300 kids Easter Eggs survive in the hot weather till next weeks meeting?
  3. Is it green shale to celebrate St. Patrick's Day?
  4. No Freddie is a massive blow. Poor results early on could have an impact on the crowd. Interesting that Ipswich have declared Schlein & Heeps as a pairing. If we do the same then whats the difference between Premiership & Championship - admission prices???
  5. Too true. any Brit should have his average reduced by one point / month until he is employed.
  6. If I was Holder and reading this I would be tempted to:- 1) Give up drinking? 2) Take up drinking? 3) Sign for Poole?
  7. Re statement from Gambo above.. Even, as a Wolves supporter I wanted to win the lottery and build a speedway track next to the home of the chairman of Barrets that stuffed Cradley.. Looks like Monaco needs a speedway track also! My father used a quote that made me think.... Who is the biggest thief... He who steals the goose from the common, or, he who steals the common from the goose? Thankfully the honey from the Bee always stays alive - get the track back. Keep fighting.
  8. Beer talking folks - in the seventies I averaged five & a half meetings a week - easy with Wolves on Friday - Spoons on Sat - Dummies on Monday - Leicester / Ellesmere on Tues - Stoke on Thurs and all Wolves away! Now I struggle to do home & away with Wolves! My immediate thoughts are I hope Freddie was paid well in 2017 and can cope with being unemployed in Britain in 2018. So much for 'loyalty' - both sides of the fence? I'm having a Don McLean moment...... the day that speedway died..... bye bye "Buster's Pie... Captain Smith (Titanic) has a statue in Lichfield Park. The BSPA has sunk deeper - one above the eight & more doubling up - I feel I'm watching Wolverhampton Witches in 2018! x
  9. Looks like £10 speedway has arrived in the Premiership!
  10. Don't think Doyle should be allowed to double-up
  11. I would prefer it if the SWC was dumped completely and we could have a week of League racing in good weather conditions. Also stage the indoor stadium GP's out of the March - October window!
  12. A FANS STATEMENT: I would like to congratulate the BSPA on dragging team speedway to such an all time low that all six teams riding tonight have declared rider-replacement in their respective line-ups. Is there any chance of the SCB suspending r/r for seven days as this "illness" is spreading rapidly! Most meetings are delayed by:- 1: rider rep meaning back to back heats for the riders. 2: Gardening at the starting gate. 3: Tractor racing. Any chance of a meeting running smoothly at this time of year?
  13. Think he's riding for Sheffield in the Promo-Releg Trophy TV showpiece at Leicester. plus the Wolves don't look ahead like they used to!
  14. Four guests and both teams using rider replacement - a fitting finale for "Premier Speedway 2017".
  15. I had his "Greatest Overtakes" on VHS 180. On the cover it said you could put something else on the unused two hours and fifty minutes
  16. BBC weather forecast for tomorrow doesn't look too good. What options would there be for re-staging or is it a must-run meeting?
  17. Are Swindon keeping to normal admission prices? Wolves look to have added £2.00 on admission & 50p on the proggy.
  18. Any news of a 'big screen' at Monmore to show the BT coverage of the other semi and adverts etc? Can we expect a 10pm finish?
  19. Four Wolves riders in Heat 9 @ Edinburgh tonight! That's better than two in the Wolves line-up @ Somerset - priceless!!!
  20. I've heard that to raise the status of the Knock-Out Cup the BSPA were to give a gold medal to every rider that appeared for the winning team. They cancelled the proposal when they realised the cost if Wolves won!
  21. And Belle Vue agree a date where Fricke & Doyle are missing... Are your fans being short changed as well?
  22. Club statement this morning regarding Somerset away is one of the saddest admissions of how far the BSPA has sunk.
  23. It's 'tin pot' when the Wolves management seem happy to go to Somerset this Friday without Lindgren, Thorssell and then find that Edinburgh v Ipswich could call on Schlein, Masters, Riss and Greaves. As a Wolves fan it gets harder to justify travelling to support my team. Somerset lose out with lost revenue as this devaluation is allowed to happen. Very sad times.
  24. If Belle Vue beat Swindon and Wolves Select beat Somerset on Friday could we have a double header at NSS on Wednesday 27/9? If this happened which meeting would be staged first?
  25. The M6 was in 'Road To Hell' mode again last night - nearly 3 hours from Wolves for a journey that used to be just over the hour in the 'Hyde Rd' Saturday night era. Aargh!!!!
