  1. Get the League fixtures finished before the Football season starts and then let the play-offs grab the part time supports as well..
  2. ..... and Greg Hancock's bike will get the Spoons flocking in...
  3. Any idea on the line-up for the Olympique?
  4. As a Wolves fan I'm struggling to understand why CVS agreed to this fixture.
  5. Did you approve of Craig Boyce thumping Gollob a few years back??? That was a far larger handbags at dawn!!!!
  6. Well said Argos. "Fail to plan" is a "Plan to Fail"....... Crisis, What crisis ???
  7. From a Wolves fans perspective, I know I'm not alone in saying Robbo was a highly respected rider to watch at Monmore Green. Excellent track craft and always gave 100%. Wishing you a long and happy retirement.
  8. The Premier League shut down for WTC / SON never helps fixture planning. Also likely to be good weather!
  9. Feel for Robins fans deprived of seeing GP rider Cookattheback. Will it affect the attendance?
  10. Thoughts from a Wolves fan.... After another wasted journey, following Somerset (a) rain-off last Wednesday, we stopped in a Pub just of the A14 and discussed the strong possibility of a 'dreaded' double-header next Wednesday. Our ideas for getting the 30 heats run efficiently included:- 1) Moving the starting gate to the other side as it shortens the distance from pits to tapes. 2) Reducing the 2 min time warning to 1 minute. Both teams to agree: Clerk of the course to do his job! * saves 30 mins on the night. 3) First race starts promptly at advertised time. 4) Frank Ebdon as referee. 5) Back-up Medical cover 6) Limited on-track tractor time. 7) Riders to get to the tapes and stay there! 8) Heat 15 line-up to be sorted before heat 14 finishes. ** Team Managers to 'gee;' their riders up. 9) Wolves not to use Sarjeant as a guest! ... yes the 'Church End' beer was good. See you next week for "Midnight In Norfolk".
  11. Zdenek Kudrna: As a Wolves fan I was always amazed to see him turn up at Birmingham Speedway in his Austin Allegro with a bike rack on the back; knowing he had driven from Czecho overnight. I would have been frightened to cover the distance from my home to Perry Barr in an Allegro in that condition. Fair play to him! Sam Tesar: The only speedway rider to have the same nickname as the track lighting at where he rode..... Peterborough - "The Dark Shadow".
  12. Swindon v Leicester: A & B fixtures 12 days apart. It gets worse next week.... King's Lynn v Wolves: A & B fixtures are 9 days apart! It's a good job Premiership doesn't ride on Fridays or the fixtures could be cancelled completely. .
  13. Would have preferred Rufus T. Firefly!
  14. Does Torquay plans include greyhound track and a speedway circuit?
  15. ...... and "'Brum" takes the bait..... everytime. It makes looking at any Wolves topic not worth the effort. Well done lads. Sad times.'
  16. C'mon Fred surely Brum is laughing at your #1 dropping his average so he can drop down a division?
  17. Correct - but sadly the old style No:8's are already occupying the #6 & #7 berths.
  18. Hi folks, any recommendations for a Pub local to the track that does good food and beer prior to the meeting? Thanks
  19. It's a good job we kept the first leg score close at Belle Vue!
  20. Perhaps the word "Fan" is missing from the title?
  21. Perhaps it's rider replacement for Woryna at #2 with Woryna at reserve and then naming Woryna at #8 to avoid confusion??
  22. Is it time to drop down a league and go back to Saturday nights then?
  23. Whoops - shows how long it's been since the team was announced and actually seeing Wolves ride!
