  1. As a Wolves fan I find it difficult to have any enthusiasm about being subjected to 30 heats, at least 30 minutes of gardening at the starting gate and now further delays as the 'Absent Stars' operate rider replacement. The second match should have been moved to next Monday, when the Wolves have no home fixture.
  2. Last weeks Wolves proggy said first race 7:30pm. So presumably BT requirements will get this closer to 7:45pm. So very little chance of Beowolf getting his Real Ale fix after the King's Lynn drag out! Still time to make it one match only???
  3. More likely 'dropped' to a new level. As well as doubling up issues there is a need to address the r/r issue. Six teams rode last night - five of them operated r/r. So meetings take longer to run and further injures during a meeting further dilute what's being offered as a so called team sport. If 'Robinsons Barley Water' had been sponsors year's ago then the sponsors now would be just 'water'.
  4. Problem with a bigger than normal crowd is the inability of the current road network to cope! It needed someone down at the East Park comer to say the car park was full.
  5. Terrace talk was r/r for Rory & Steve Worrall for Howarth.
  6. Presumably rider replacement and guests - It's why it's the Premier League!!!
  7. Well done Screm you've summed up the 2017 Premier League.. At Wolves home meetings we play - name the other teams the riders appear for! The other week v Poole we had the bonus of an Ipswich (Schlein & Greaves) vs Peterborough (Holder & Starke) heat. Sad times for a team sport that you can't identify with.
  8. Just seen that Leicester vs Wolves has been brought forward 24 hours to Friday 1st Sept. Good news that Edinburgh aren't riding, so fingers crossed for a full team!
  9. Thats the impact of having "space invaders" move in. It was pointed out to me that the 6pm start time vs Belle Vue on 28 August could be under pressure with Poole v Belle Vue arranged for 11am on the same morning!!!! If the Aces don't arrive in time do the "Spoons" go on first?
  10. 21 August isnt free - its Spoons vs Brummies.
  11. Greyhound Racing is staged for then final time at Hall Green tonight. Another former speedway venue lost forever. RIP
  12. Sandwell Spoons or Oldbury 'Ommers sounds good from a Wolves perspective
  13. Terrace talk last night suggested Jacob Thorssell would miss Kings Lynn at home on May 1st. This is supported on the European Championship forum pages that Swedish authorities have nominated him for a qualifier in Hungary on that day! I presume no guest cover is allowed? Should this fixture be rearranged and let the squatters run at 7:30pm that night instead of the double header at 6pm?
  14. Last nights Wolves programme was suggesting 12 noon as the start time!
  15. In a byegone age age I remember going to watch Wolves getting 'tonked' at The Shay, Halifax. After the meeting six of the seven Wolves riders plus the team manager came to socialise with the fans in 'The Three Pigeons'. I sure miss those days now.... and certainly miss going in the 'The Three Pigeons'
  16. From the Spoons website regarding 2017 fixtures..... - They (Spoons) will race at 7.30 on Easter Monday (April 17) and on the other three Holiday dates they will start at a similar time after Wolverhampton’s Premiership meeting earlier. Turnstiles will open at 6.30 for those who only wish to see the Heathens meeting....... So what time start for Wolves???? Whats's next - combined programmes? - caravans on the car park?
  17. Given the Aces get the go-ahead what is the crowd capacity? Is the back straight stand completed?
  18. Would have preferred a re-branding as 'Speedway United Kingdom'.. Then we could have had car stickers with [ Go S-UK ] om our back windows!
  19. How about allowing Tai's Testimonial to be staged at Wolverhampton as an end of season highlight on Monday 23 October. I'm sure the fact that the Australian GP is five days later wouldn't cause any conflict of interest and would help Tai show his loyalty and commitment to British Speedway.
  20. ...... In October so it bu**ers up the end of the British season!
  21. Well done 'chairman of the BSPA' -look after yourself. so much for the NSS
  22. With more teams in the League and the return of KO Cup leading to more fixtures can we expect regular Monday nights....... and the Spoons going back to Tuesdays???
  23. An absolute pleasure to read both links. Thank you
