  1. Didn't take notice of the name, but they do a lovely cooked breakfast! Really? Must be a very good reason
  2. No doubt it was a great race, but no need for Irvine to pull that move. How many Rye House home meetings have you been to this year?
  3. Just watched and my first impression is that Irving needs L plates on and learn how to race properly. I'd like to think he didn't have a clue what he was doing, rather than deliberately attempt to fence another rider. Moron!
  4. There is a no photography sign by the entrance to Leicester speedway, but when I spoke to a steward there the other week he told me not to worry as long as I didn't use the flash. Certainly wasn't going to challenge RR. Even the pub landlord was complaining about the Swindon track. I kinda got the impression that he's not exactly Mr Popular down there. What is his actual role in speedway these days?
  5. One of the few tracks I've yet to visit, along with Belle Vue, Coventry and Plymouth Couldn't be as flat as the atmosphere at Rye House. When did you last hear the riders introduced to a ripple of applause?
  6. Yeah, he's good. Doesn't help the atmosphere with Foxhall being such a vast bowl. Although I've slated him many times in the past Mike Bennett is very slick and professional. Can't say I've been struck by anyone else I've come across. I've rarely visited Elite League tracks, so can't comment on those.
  7. I'm sure these points come up every year, but has anything changed? Granted Craig is very good with any news on the website, but this two website situation is very confusing. Introducing the riders one by one is a novel idea, but they come out to complete silence. Not tbe greatest fan of air horns, but they at least add some atmosphere. Hardly heard at Rye House anymore. I still prefer the bikes wheeled out, the riders introduced, then a couple of minutes of them practicing starts etc, like the old days.
  8. The pub we stayed at last night had a visit by Mr Russell after the Swindon meeting last night. I was being egged on by the landlord to give him a piece of my mind over his disastrous tenure at Rye House, but I bottled it, anyway he's huge! Where did you get grief from him WHB?
  9. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nelson,_Lancashire
  10. I very much doubt there is anyone on that rate Costs are the same though; fuel, repairs etc... You wonder why they'd bother.
  11. How could I forget? I remember getting mildly excited when Morton won his debut race as a Rocket, heat 1 at Workington. Sadly it was all downhill from there and he retired a few weeks later with a "bad back", later in the season seen loading bikes in a van.
  12. Rumour around the Abbey Stadium is Masters to Rye House. Dunno if the average fits.
  13. It's ironic that we're seeing some of the best speedway in years when the team is struggling for consistency, partly through injury, partly through the weather messing up the fixture list I briefly flirted with the idea of taking in the Peterborough meeting, but it'd be a struggle to make it for the 2pm start if the morning meeting over runs.
  14. What kind of message would it send out to prospective signings if Len dumped Simon before he'd even turned a wheel as a Rocket? Ben really needs to step up next year, if not at Rye, then somewhere else. He's not gaining anything racing a meeting here and there
  15. How can you predict a score when you don't know the line ups?
  16. I threw them a stray dog I found, that kept em occupied
  17. I had the misfortune to take a short cut round the back of the leisure centre recently, en route back to the track from the shopping centre... Plenty of wildlife round there!
  18. For your formula to stand up then none should be better than those!
