Stand Tall Team Gb
BritPete replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
But basically, riders have always cheated! -
Maybe they should use cinders on the track?

How nice to see a positive thread about last night. I suppose we are always going to get the whingers saying things like team GB had nothing to beat etc. But I prefer to ignore their negativity. I hope they keep away from this thread. All the riders gave 100% last night, and they will do the same again on saturday, and they can do no more than that.

Stand Tall Team Gb

Well, there you go. According to so many clever dicks on here Middlo had got the team wrong! However, he did not, and egg must be covering the faces of certain individuals by now! Stead, it was said, should be at reserve! Laughable! O. Allen, it was said, should be in the team! Laughable! Middlo has been involved in speedway before some of you were even born, and yet you seemed to think that you knew better than him when it came to team selection... ....You did not..And tonight proved him to be 100% correct in his team selection, and my signature now really does bear fruit! LOL! And now on to Poland, we will not be favourites, but I do think at the very least that we will make our presence felt! -
And you keep working!
-
Of course it's 5.0, trust an odds compiler top spot that error. Ok, I will believe you but it's only value if it wins! Actually, sometime during the final, betfair will probably get a visit from me.
-
Then why did you not post before about the great value to be had @ 5.1? A very odd post by the wonderful wizard if you ask me!
-
As usual wonderful wizard, you are miles off the pace. Poland were 5.1 @ Unibet initially, and Centrebet had them @ 4.25 but yesterday. I'm afraid you have missed the value! LOL!

Will Middlo Inspire Us To Swc Glory?
BritPete replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I'm fairly confident about our chances on monday. Nicholls and Harris are in good form, and the much loved Richardson has been in tremendous form lately. If Kennett does have a poor night I feel we can still win through, after all, Sweden are far more inconvenienced with Jonsson missing and Kennett may well come good later. One thing for sure, IMO, Middlo has picked the best team possible and if we can go straight through to the final, then we do have riders that can go well in Poland. Don't write us off yet. -
Go Team GB!

So, what do you suggest, bring in Olly?

This is what the Danish team manager wrote: Hi guys, "According to the 2007 FIM SWC rules, the reserve/stand by rider can only come into play if one of the 1-5 riders get injured, and the Chief Medical Officer (doctor!) rules him out for the rest of the meeting........" ....Best wishes Jan (From Yahoo)
-
Not according to the Danish team manager.
-
I have just read that a reserve can only be used if a rider is injured, or ruled out by the chief medical officer. A strange rule, but, IMO simply confirms that by putting David Howe at reserve is spot on by Middlo.
-
Nice to see that Simon Stead made a decent comeback at Lakeside last night, wins in his first two heats was quite good considering his lay off. It looks as though being picked for the world cup has given him the world of confidence. Now, what can Kennett do at Coventry monday?
-
I think the sad fact here is that we do not have five solid riders at the moment. That's why we are on here bickering about which rider is the the best of the lower order ones. I still believe that Middlo has got it right though, and who knows, this may kick start the season for Simon Stead. If not, then David Howe will get his chance. All we can do is to get behind them and hope they can achieve something.
-
Yes, but Stead has done ok riding for team GB in the past, Howe proved recently at Cardiff that he is not good enough at the top level. Although it's a gamble, Stead had to get the nod over Howe.
-
I think Middlo has got it right. It would be sheer folly to leave Kennett out because of one poor meeting at Coventry, he is after all the best British prospect. Besides, Lee R. has had two poor meetings here this season, yet no one is saying he should not be in the team. (yet) David Howe scored seven here for Wolverhampton but when you take a close look at his races, he only beat Janniro, Smolinski and a very poor Richardson...twice! Allen was leading him until he fell too! ( I'm quoting live updates here) Howe has been around for years, and he has had plenty of chances. I firmly believe that he is going nowhere at this level. He is at reserve though, so he may get yet another chance. Stead is having a poor season, but like Richardson he is capable of performing well at this level. Bring it on!

Greg Hancock Betting Suspended!
BritPete replied to SW17 Bulldog's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I got 14-1 @ Corals yesterday! -
Because Skybet are the biggest joke firm on the net, even worse than bet and whinge I expect this was suspended because someone put a fiver on him!
-
Great win by Adams, I hope he can win a few more now. HA never looked too convincing to me, especially when the track reserve came from nowhere to pass him.

Does anyone know where I can get the heats from including gate positions?
