  1. Coming down again this morning for this meet, should be the usual Belle vue fantastic track racing.
  2. Good performances from all the British lads, well done to Dan and Robert for getting on the podium. Tom Brennan probably the next in line to make it.
  3. If crowd level dropped below 10000 it might go to Manchester , Cardiff has the central location to bars, rester-aunts, hotels etc.
  4. So was the official attendance 22000 , way down on previous years and will likely be a lot less next year with the rise in....well more or less everything!
  5. Tero still in hospital last I heard.
  6. Paid £65.00 for middle tier ticket. (That is with reduction, should have been about £80?)
  7. On board camera is a definite bad move.
  8. OK, here are my views on the meeting. Arrived just after six and the place was packed with fans, the entry to the stadium was done with the usual Glasgow efficiency, tickets checked, programme bought, 50/50 bought, and drink purchased on entry all within a few minutes. The parade was started at around 7pm , in hindsight maybe the parade should have started at 6:50pm. The racing was fantastic and for what it's worth I thought the track was fine. The crashes which took place were on the face of it did not look serious but did cause some nasty injuries to the riders and although it was a long drawn-out meeting for the fans the rider's safety must be paramount and the utmost care must be taken to tend to the riders injuries. When the sun went down it did get cold and did not help when standing around for over four hours. We had to leave before the end to get transport back into the city and so missed the last three or four heats... A great gesture by the winner of the 50/50 draw (£525) to donate it to the children's cancer hospital which was matched by the promoters.
  9. In the Speedway Star today, it said the shale used was what had been used in 2019 and had been stored since, "lessons need to be learned" and an inquiry is being made into the state of the track.
  10. True it is a good weekend away, I think I have been about 7 or 8 times in 20 years, but "we" should expect the track to improve over the years not go back in time , give the riders a good surface to ride on and mor e often than not it will provide good racing.
  11. Could be wrong but i thought i saw he was riding on the continent a few days ago.
  12. Probably 8000 if they spend enough money in the city bars, restaraunts etc.
  13. Average about 5’ 7 sorry no official figure out yet as far as I know
  14. No not me , I prefer Belle Vue, Glasgow and Cardiff. Oh and Worky when it was running!
  15. Can't remember where I heard 19000 but it was not an official figure, I would think more like 30000 people in attendance. I was in Cardiff on Friday night, and it did seem quiet, but many were either at Oxford or just staying one or two nights (Sat/Sun)
  16. Here are my thoughts after the weekend away at Cardiff. It's an expensive weekend away (3 nights) but I knew that, and it always has been at Cardiff, the racing on Saturday seemed even more processional than usual this year, (is it different track staff under Discovery) , the only saving grace is that fellow Cumbrian and former Comet Dan Bewley was magnificent and won the meeting. The atmosphere in the stadium felt slightly subdued (national anthems!) was this due to the alleged low attendance of a reported 19000 people, I thought it was probably more than that though. As for the meeting on Sunday... well in hindsight maybe it should have been cancelled in the morning due to the condition of the track which was highlighted on Saturday. The meeting if not called off should have been halted after the riders had had three or four rides each but it carried on and more and more riders were injured in nasty crashes. Someone stated on Facebook "Don't let anyone tell you, you are not a true Speedway fan if you have just endured GP2" Will I be going next year, no, probably give it a miss for a year or two and go to a polish GP meeting and get my enthusiasm back.
  17. I used the machine in Ladbrooks , easy to use and understand I don’t bet usually, oh and won £45 on Dan.
  18. Cheapskates hotel £600 3 nights rail fare £160 for two stadium tickets £130 for 2 spent ££ on food and drink.... oh well Dan won !!!!
