Yes, but whose forecast? Look at the forecast for today, heavy showers across the country, Redcar are riding tonight, they could cop a heavy shower at anytime. Should they be allowed to cancel? Some clubs would and have in the past. I got stung at Scunny on Good Friday by an isolated shower that hit the stadium minutes before start time, sometimes you're just going to get unlucky and we as travelling fans have to accept that. But I do think more could be done by the authorities to streamline the decision making in such circumstances instead of us fans having to 2nd guess the promotions all of the time. In hindsight Leicester got it absolutely spot on yesterday and when a band of rain is crossing the country it's a much easier decision to make.

The difference is if you call off on a forecast and it doesn't rain, you just look a bit silly, if you don't postpone on a forecast and what happens like what happened at Oxford last night, not only do you look at bit silly but you've also really really p155ed a load of fans off! There really does need to be some sanction on clubs who can't finish their matches off once started. In F1 for example a track is declared wet or dry and different rules kick in once that decision is made, you could do something similar whereby the SCB declares a day wet or dry based on the weather forecast, if a day is declared wet, then a club can still run but if they don't complete their match they are sanctioned (points deduction or match forfeit). FWIW, I thought Leicester made the right decision yesterday based on the forecast... but I also thought Oxford did an excellent job in getting the meeting on... until it rained of course! But if you are intending to run in those potential conditions you really need the track equipment and make-up to ensure you finish. I'm feeling your pain! Ouch!

Speedway of Nations 2024

I was watching a bit of Welcome to Wrexham last night and they put a 2,500 seat temporary stand in at a cost of $1m, so if the SoN stand is costing anywhere near that amount then it may go some way to explaining the extortionate ticket prices! -
In that case... I think you need to go to charm school

Only ever in response to being abused. I defy you to find me starting to be offensive or rude... you just won't find it. If you're going to be rude or obnoxious you're going to get some back. I'm going to ask you again, why were you so rude in your reply to my post? What is wrong with you?
-
Yes, thanks for the explanation, it sounds like BSN were under playing it a bit then, they kept saying it was just drizzle.
-
They had world and international class riders in them though, not Dan Thompson, Boughen and Jenkins etc. Sometimes you just can't beat the weather. It was still dusty during heat 1 after the watering. Until there is some kind of plan (if that word want being used enough at the moment!) To refer to when weather isn't great this kind of thing will keep happening. Track covers, proper grading equipment, wet weather setups for the bikes etc.
-
Sayfutdinov looked far from comfortable also and if riders of that calibre are struggling, as disappointing as it is, the correct decision was probably made.
-
Obviously I'm not there but considering they were watering the track before the start it didn't take for much rain to get this one called off. There didn't appear to be any torrential downpour
-
Why does who's in front have any impact on who and when the ref can be spoken to? Surely safety is safety no matter who is in front.
-
Okay... I think I may have spoken too soon, let the farce commence What on earth was Tungate up to there?
-
I hope I'm not speaking too soon... but Oxford are really setting an example to other clubs on how to get matches on! And before you all go apoplectic, yes I know they don't always get it right.
-
I give my honest opinion, good or bad... what do you want me to say? Nobody seems to want to comment on my positive posts though, you all conveniently ignore them and fall out of your prams when a post doesn't conform to how you saw things. That says more about you than me. Also, why on earth are you going on about me on a Kyle Howarth topic thread? What's wrong with you guys?

I have NEVER initiated an argument on here, I only take the gloves off when ignorant, rude, sociopath's come looking for an argument. This forum has become a bit of a cesspit. I always treat people with politeness and respect, even if I disagree with them. Some of the ignorant, uneducated, neanderthal's on here just resort to name calling when their opinion is challenged. If some of you people spoke to people like you do on here in real life, you'd be treated to a punch on the nose. I made quite a valid point on here, and you came back with abuse... why? Why did you do that? What is wrong with you? Disagree with me, but don't be rude to me

Leicester already off, on the same forecast. But it happened on opening night, Leicester cancelled on a forecast, Oxford ran. Watching the weather cross the country on the radar could be more exciting than the meeting on this one!

Leicester vs King’s Lynn - Thurs 13th June
IainB replied to SuperStarsFan91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Probably the correct decision imo... but 3 home matches in May & June!!!! Interestingly, Oxford not yet cancelled on the same forecast -
I think it does, or I might as well have just bank transferred £23 and saved myself the journey up from Leicester. It's still an event that should be trying to attract a crowd and be worth winning. It would have been nice to see the riders in the 2 "teams" also racing each other. Apart from a couple of incidents when Pickering and Allen nearly ended their seasons... it was a pretty dull affair. looked like some of the riders cared a little too much, there were some real heart in the mouth moments
-
Yes... I did debate that for quite a while before typing it out, I'm not keen on have to have. But good spot I've been busted by the grammar police That @tyretraxis quite a rude chap though

I've re-read your post, makes no mention of it... all I can see is you can't spell Worrall correctly

Why? Have they done the correct thing and banned him? -
