  1. The ref had 2 rules to work with, foul, unfair or dangerous riding or primary cause of the stoppage. It wasn't the former so had to be the latter and both rules rely on the opinion of the ref. There is nothing else in the rules to help the ref, no mention of who is in front, who is in control of their bike, who locks up where and when on the track etc. The way I saw it was Nicholls passed Wright fair and square, Wright could have gone wider, there was still room but it looked like he elected to try and cut back, there was a slight twitch just before he ran into the back of Nicholls. For me, like with any motor insurance claim if you run into the back of somebody you are at fault. Maybe there could be some clearer definition in the rules to help the ref make a decision but personally I like it the way it is, as Dave Lanning used to say "the fans will be talking about this one for a long time to come", well at least until 5pm this evening... and look at the pickle Football has got itself into with VAR, they've taken the decision away from one bloke on the pitch to another bloke in a TV production studio.
  2. No, I mean connection errors again... finally the sport has got the forum it deserves
  3. What's all this Facebook Live business from BSN all of a sudden? The least I expect is to hear from the victors before they end transmission. If they're going to do this they should simulcast it like they did in the build up to the pairs. Not everybody is on Facebook
  4. He did have a north eastern twang to his voice didn't he
  5. Wright tried to cut back and ran into the back of Nicholls
  6. Wrighty to go for me, big crash, good to see both walk away
  7. His lead is so big he can afford to use the rest of the season as a test session!
  8. Who knew that 8 new tyres would be needed for the semis and final
  9. Well, the crowds will be down if you don't go
  10. How long will the forum last tonight? I'm going to say until heat 2, so I'll get my comments in now... Where is Craig Cook Batchelor is a disgrace Why isn't Bomber riding for [INSERT TEAM NAME HERE] The track is too dusty The track is too narrow The track is too wide Etc. Etc.
  11. Except 2015 & 2016 when he was averaging pretty much what he is now, he had a decent 2017 then cleared off
  12. The big question tonight is will the forum stay up long enough for any of us to discuss the match
  13. 4, 7 & 11?... Why wasn't the track watered after every race though on what was an exceptional night weather wise? All it would take is 1 lap of watering after every race, it would take around 1 minute. Why leave it 40 minutes until the first watering and then only water the outside of the track which wasn't where the dust was coming from or where the riders were riding... and this is not just unique to Birmingham although it does seem to be a regular occurrence there.
  14. No, I'm the one that wants to see the rules, whatever they be, applied equally... You're welcome by the way for me digging the facts out for you👍 Not bad for a troll 🧌
  15. It's all there on the forum, all you have to do is use the search facility, the magnifying glass at the top right of the screen
  16. You have to wonder whether it would have been a better idea to target the Cardiff city centre after work drinkers on a Friday night to the "sprint race" than trying to squeeze an extra few £10 programme sales from people who will more than likely be at Oxford than in Cardiff a day early. They should have thrown the doors open for free and handed out complimentary tickets in the city centre on the Friday afternoon for the non event of "qualifying" with the Sprint Race afterwards. Has anybody ever done any analysis of whether a better qualifying position correlates to a better GP finishing position? It's not like in other forms of motorsport where a pole position almost guarantees you a podium finish, in F1 at least... or is it?
  17. You are not a Speedway fan then! If you were, it's your duty to attend
  18. I've answered the question a few times on different threads, search them out I've detailed the dates and locations of Kurtz's appearances and non appearances while "injured"
  19. Lack of watering was definitely the issue, yes the track was fine for heat 1 but because watering wasn't done again until after heat 4, which was some 40 minutes later and there is a refusal in this country to water the track where the dust is actually being generated from, unlike in Poland where they just flood the track and the better riders will just get on with it, they just keep watering the track on the very outside when every rider is riding the curb around the blue groove spewing up clouds of dust!
  20. Personally I'd like to see the return of Junior League racing in the 2nd half of meetings... I went to the NDL series at Leicester and it was quite tedious
  21. It's been done to death elsewhere on the forum, but he did exactly the same and went without punishment
